it was so nice not to have to worry about gluten free and knowing we could have anything. flavors were blended perfectly.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and the food as well as the service has always been good, however, this time it seems the portions have shrunk. I hope they bring back the whole fish again as it was one of the reasons we come here.

Simply the best place to eat in Baltimore
The service started out great, however it went downhill quickly. We had 4 people at our table. When the food came to the table only 3 plates were served. The other came 5 minutes later. The food tasted good and the presentation was great. The server brought a dessert menu and said that our desserts would only take 10 minutes; 30 minutes later once we got the waiters attention he went to check on our dessert. We asked for the check when we received our dessert and again had to put on our coats and get the hostess in order to pay our bill.
Would have gotten a perfect score except that the wait was a bit long once you place your order. The food however was super depending on what you order. The lamb chops on the appetizer menu were to die for. Had the pork shank with the Mofongo and there was nothing left on the plate. Simply delicious. The paella was a major disappointment though. Tasted ordinary and was very little rice.....actually very little of anything. Be careful with the Mojito as you will need a designated driver after the 3rd round. Definitely will return. Just have to pick carefully. Great atmosphere, clean and drinks were on point. Food need some working on with portions and wait time.
Entirely Gluten Free menu! Great food and service.
Very disappointed with our experience. My wife ordered crab soup appetizer and salmon main entree. While she liked the salmon the crab soup was very thin on both vegetables and crab. I ordered lamb ribs appetizer, very good, and chicken entree. The chicken was overdone and tasteless and came with some type of potato dish that was uninspiring at best. The waiter was not very well informed when we asked him questions. Look for another restaurant.
We came to celebrate a birthday. One family member has celiac disease, which causes her to become violently ill if there is even the slightest bit of gluten around. This seemed to be the best option for a totally gluten-free restaurant in Baltimore. The meal was absolutely delicious, from the Yucca chip appetizer through the variety of dishes we enjoyed - mussels, lamb chops, salmon, Caesar salad, brussels sprouts, asparagus, Peruvian potatoes, shrimp, chicken, paella, and through the desserts. They also make a good caipirinha. The only problem was service. We were seated around 6:30 and didn't get out for over 3 hours. About 25 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came by to tell us that she had just put the order in. About 40 minutes after that (I wasn't timing this so I may be off - suffice it to say it felt like a long time), she explained to me that she was waiting till everything was cooked before serving us, at which point I asked her to bring whatever was ready because the kids were starving. The basement (where we were seated) was a pleasant space, a bit cool (bring a sweater), and not crowded. I can't imagine how long it would take if the restaurant were near capacity. While I recommend the food, I would suggest not coming here with little kids who might get antsy, and plan to spend a long time nursing your drink while you wait for your order to arrive.
Food was excellent! Everyone had delicious food, and we could not believe it was all gluten free. Our waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and even worked to arrange a birthday treat for our mom. The only downside was the food took longer than we would have wanted to come out.

This is a dedicated gluten-free restaurant with a very creative menu. The food is delicious whether you are gluten free or not. Great happy hour prices; standard entrees are pricey so haven’t tried those yet. A great place to meet in Fells Point. Will definitely go again. The downfall was that the bartender was not very attentive at a not-so-busy time.
Immediately upon walking in I remember that this place was the old Mellies which I loved hands down. Having been to Puerto Rico recently for vacation I was expecting more flavorful dishes such as a variety of Mofongo or such. I had the Paella and it was under seasoned over cooked and underwhelming at best. Great waitress but the food was a let down and overpriced.

Second or third time here -- we have a group with food sensitivities, so this is a great choice. Sophisticated menu, delicious food, great service. One complaint -- and thankfully this was toward the end of our meal -- there was a private party downstairs and the microphone was so loud it killed any remaining conversation and we hurried to leave. The manager should have been on top of that buzz kill.

You allowed a reservation for 330 pm and closed the kitchen at 3pm. Had to find somewhere else to go. Don’t allow reservations for times they don’t serve food.
Very mixed. Great reviews by critics and friends. Perhaps it was a bad night. While our server was as accommodating as humanly possible the food was not as good as expected. A huge piece of charred tuna was nearly impossible to cut because of the mass of connective tissues. That dinner was comped when left uneaten. Meat empanadas has a good taste but appeared past their prime. We will try again but that meal was not a great experience.
While the food was absolutely delicious at points south Latin kitchen, the service left much to be desired. Waited 45 minutes for our raw appetizer to come out and was often found with an empty wine glass—I found myself ordering glasses of wine preemptively since they were taking so long to get another glass.
I found the food very good and tasty but short of excellent. Two of us had the steak which were correctly cooked. But it was a bit chewy. The steak and potatoes were on the greasy side. They need to drain the fried potatoes much more which made the entire plate greasy. Almost if they were spooned on the plate straight from a deep fryer.
Staff was attentive, but could have been more engaging and knowledgeable about the food and drink options. Food was prepared well and as expected. It's great to have restaurant with a solid gluten free menu, so thank you! overall it was a good experience.

It was my first time eating at Point South. I was excited to eat there because my fiancee has celiac disease, so we usually have trouble finding a strict gluten-free menu. The food was great, but the service was slow due to the fact the drag brunch was going on below. In all fairness, they did call me ahead of time to let me know about the drag show and they did say it was going to be loud, but we didn't exactly know how loud. We could barely hear each other shouting over the music from downstairs. I would definitely go back there, but not on Sundays.
We waited for 2 hours for our meal and they still hadn't brought the main course. It wasn't just us. The table next to us had the same issue. The restaurant said that they were short in the kitchen. We had only made our reservation late the same afternoon. They should not have accepted our reservation or at least told us when we arrived of the issue. There was no excuse for the poor service we received. Also, the bathroom was flooded. We had been previously and had enjoyed our food. But this experience has ensured that we will never be back.
We went to Points South during restaurant week. We picked the restaurant based on the menu they had versus some of the other Latin cuisine restaurants. Each course was well presented and delicious. My husband and I both got different items off the fixed menu and everything was full of flavor and tender and juicy. For it being a busy night, we also had good, friendly service. The drinks were good and were described to us before we chose them. We will definitely go back.
The food was an adventure with some unique taste. My spouse mostly eats vegan and gluten free. They explained everything on the menu, had a variety that met her dietary needs. plus a couple of specials for restaurant week. The avocado salad was tasty with a vinaigrette twang and the Calamari was lightly battered and had the right crispness.Sorry I cannot name the spicy shrimp rice and seafood dish we had but it was not over seasoned and had a slight amount of kick to it. We ended the meal with ice cream and Mexican cheese cake that was just as tasty and just enough to put our stomach on full. Oh I forgot to mention the Yucca chips and salsa selection at the beginning of the meal. the avocado salsa was good but the chips made from the Yucca plant were the hit for me (taste like potato chips that were very thin crispy and seasoned)
My friends and I visited during Restaurant Week, August 2018. We were unable to reach restaurant staff via phone for two days to inquire about special Restaurant Week menus - mailbox was “full”. Our server was both friendly and knowledgeable. However, the service was extremely slow. Two of us had to leave to get back to work without eating. We requested that our meals be packaged for carry out. If you’re leisurely enjoying the day with no time restraints, this is a great place to dine. The food was really good!

I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Being from Miami I didn't not have high expectations for a Latin restaurant in Baltimore but while some things may not have been very traditional the flavors were amazing and the food was well seasoned. The fact that it was gluten free was just such an added bonus. It was the best plan e we have eaten at while visiting the city.

Our waitress was awesome and she was prepped about the food allergies at the table.
The atmosphere was good but the restaurant was empty. The food selection was very limited and very expensive. Service was not attentive and the server slapped the desert menu down before 2 people were finished eating.
Their strengths are definitely the service and the atmosphere. The food is okay to good, though not quite great. They also have a good amount of outdoor dining spaces for that neighborhood.

We come here often for all of the great food and drinks. It’s great to be able to get a bunch of small plates or a full entree. We’ve liked every dish we’ve tried, but our favorites are the Peruvian Potatoes, the Beef Tartare and the fish tacos. We always love the Margaritas with mezcal too! My girlfriend has Celiac so the entire restaurant being gluten free is a huge plus for us, there are very few places we can go and feel safe like we can here.
