Points South Latin Kitchen
We showed up and the restaurant had been closed! No one called to let us know it had been shut down.
Hello, you may want to update your records. This restaurant is closed........
Love this place! Everything is gluten-free and I’m a celiac, just the perfect fit. The pumpkin dip, Yucca croquets and Ropa Vieja were delicious. My only complaint would be the crabcakes, not very good. They were too salty and oily. The crabmeat tasted like canned backfin. Since crabcakes are everywhere, it really didn’t matter. My husband’s steak was delicious, perfectly cooked.
I rarely order margaritas but this time I’m glad I did. The best margarita I’ve had in a very long time… Not too strong and not too weak… Tasted very authentic! We will be back!
Food was great. Seated immediately with reservations. Great vibe and decor. I had the salmon with potatoes and date had the chicken and we both enjoyed it. No complaints on our end.
Seven of us came on a quiet and non-busy Monday evening. The food was fine for the most part. Unfortunately, Gazpacho was uneatable, WAY TOO MUCH VINEGAR, two of us who ordered it could not finish it. But I am usually reasonable, and some food on the menu could be on/off. I gave 1 star is because of unattentive waiter. The worst came the last, we paid for the dinner and have been sitting for 40-45 minutes just chatting and the waitress didn't offer to refill our water glasses - I specifically made a note that we had 5 empty water glasses. The restaurant was almost empty, so I just could imagine any excuse. I just assume it is Restaurant 101, but apparently they don't teach it anymore, at least in PSLK.
Service and food was great. Will be returning in near future
We liked the vibe of this restaurant. It was the first time we had been there. The drinks were good and our waitress was attentive. We thought the small plates selection was sufficient for us to choose a variety of dishes for the four of us. We would go back.
Great food and drinks!! There were too many choices on the menu that we wanted to try, because they all sounded so good. Will definitely be back to try them!
Had a great time
Loved the meal! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly!
Really nice ambiance. Amazing food! We’ll definitely be back.
The bartender/waitress who usually assists us is the warmest and funniest person ever!
It was lovely to have a Celiac safe meal. My sister and I were unfamiliar with the area but found the place easily. We ordered several small plates and sides instead of entrees. Everything was yummy.
It has been awhile since we have been to Points South, and it's great to know that the service and food is still top notch. The team at PSLK is always keen to guest needs and works great together to ensure smooth service. We are excited to include Points South back into our rotation for amazing non-vegetarian dining.
Excellent service! The staff (and owner?) made my friend's birthday celebration truly special with a dessert made just for him! Also, the brussel sprouts were amazing.
Very accommodating with allergies. The owner actually came to talk to us and those without allergies also loved their food. The red sangria was amazing. The ambiance with the open window was great until a very large group arrived and was too loud at the bar. Because of a hearing disability, this made it impossible for some of our party to hear conversation and we had to leave.
Me & my friend went after work for restaurant week on a Thursday. Apparently the entire block was sectioned off for some sort of block party. Ok cool not a problem. We were told that they were having drag bingo in the basement. No an issue either. (Drag anything is always fun.) We were warned about the noise but again no biggie. The restaurant week menu looked good. The service was extremely slow and food was mediocre. I ordered the calamari and my friend got the chicken empanada. I was told my plate was hot(which it was but the calamari itself was luke warm). I tried my friends empanada it was pretty good. I got the cod as my entree she got the salmon(which was raw & had to go back). The best thing was the dessert-chocolate whoopie pie and the red sangria. We were there for a total of 2 hours. I had to go find our server to see what was going on with our desserts and to get the check. Pretty unacceptable when it wasn't even crowded AT ALL. Food was so slow coming out and served mildly warm. Maybe because of all the events going on. Not sure we may be back for drag bingo or drag brunch. But I don't think I would come back again for anything else.
We were seated promptly, the host and server were very attentive. The server’s recommendation of the pork tenderloin was so right! The food was delicious and beautifully plated. We will surely be coming back for more!
We had a boring, non-memorable meal here. The gazpacho was too chunky and tasted of vinegar and nothing else. My salmon was tasty but nothing particularly interesting or innovative about the sauce. The potatoes were tasteless. My husband enjoyed his shrimp but not the go-alongs. The cheesy biscuit dessert was heavy and too floury. No need for us to return even though I've always loved latin food.
Went during restaurant week (when they have a smaller, fixed price menu) and had a wonderful time. Food was delicious, service was wonderful--very attentive staff who gave their honest opinions on the menu items. We had a 6pm reservations so the restaurant was fairly quiet during our meal, though by 7:30 the place was packed and a bit noisy (though not unpleasantly so, just what happens when you have a lot of people in one room!). Would definitely go again.
Celiac Mecca! We had a party of 6, I was the only one who had to eat GF, however everyone was raving about the food, not just me! I was so happy to eat safe food in a restaurant, everyone else was just enjoying a normal night out. Fabulous, we will be back!
The staff are wonderful. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience !! Will return very soon!
Overall the restaurant was great. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. We would strongly recommend this restaurant.
Good food with well thought Latin food and some spaniard influence. A little pricy for the informal type of restaurant. I would add more desert options to the menu. Very good service.
This place is amazing
A wonderful find on our visit to Baltimore. Both my husband are both celiacs. The restaurant is 100 percent gluten free. Food was very tasty and we were able to enjoy it all without any concerns that I have when eating out. The service was wonderful and the waitress was very helpful in making suggestions. I had the Bread Pudding for dessert which was outrageous. Make sure to save room for dessert.
So good! Sad I didn't discover this place sooner! The food is absolutely incredible without trying too hard.
Simply the best!
Great evening, sat outside but was able to move inside as rain started. Lively compared to adjacent venues which made it more appealing but not too loud so we could still communicate easily. Menu was deep, food was good, waiting staff were attentive.
Great find. Everyone enjoyed the food immensely, particularly I, as the whole menu was gluten free. As someone with celiac, this is a rare find. Each course was delicious. The service was gracious and solicitous. Will definitely return.
I celebrated my birthday with no dietary worries
I have Celiac disease and love the safety and comfort of eating here. The food is awesome!!!!
Overall food and service were great overall, although he had a couple lengthy periods to wait when plates/drinks were finished.
Bryson and his team were amazing as always!! We love Point South, it never disappoints.
It wasn’t much of a brunch. I think it should have been another type of meat because bacon and sausage are breakfast. I would have tried the salad or green beans but not meat to choice from. 35$ is a lot for that menu. I went home and ate. I couldn’t believe you had to pay for juice lol just free water. The potatoes was very salty. I was disappointed with the food.
The food was excellent, my only compliant was how loud it was.
The food was good but not anything outstanding. You can eat much better in Fells Point at that price. I love Latin food and had been waiting for a chance to try Points South, but I don't expect to return.
Fantastic experience. The chef has a fusion approach with some creative dishes. BTW, the desserts are made in house.
Great food, drinks, and ambiance. The service was a little slow but we were in no hurry. All food, even desserts, are gluten free!
Lovely location and decor. Some areas of the restaurant really feel like you are in Latin America. Service was very nice. Tried sides and there were many different flavors that made the meal enjoyable. The Caesar salad was one of the best with capers and sweet drops, I believe. The sorbet was a wonderful, light ending with amazing flavor.
They also have paper straws to help the environment! Check it out.
I took a friend to Points South for a birthday lunch. We shared a couple of dishes which were both delicious. The service was very good and the menu is quite varied. The prices are reasonable and the ambience is quite pleasant.
