Pointe In Tyme Restaurant – Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort
The food was not worth the money and there are restaurants in the area with better food. Seemed like entrees were just thrown together
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was for the GORGEOUS views from there "Point of View" restaurant. We were incredibly disappointed when we arrived that it was closed for a wedding and we could only done at the secondary restaurant. We would have chosen another hotel for our weekend get away. I must say our dinner was delicious. The service was CRAP. The Hostess had to get the server after we had been sitting there for quite a while and not been acknowledged. The restaurant was not busy in the least. When we FINALLY got our first round of drinks they were incorrect and had to be redone which again took awhile. The server never smiled and seemed annoyed that she had to wait on a twosome. Hostess and food get a thumbs up.
Excellent service and attention to detail. Food was delicious!
Food and service not good. Such a shame because it could be a nice steakhouse with the ambiance.
Good service, the food & presentation is much better here than at Squaw Peak restaurants. As for the price, is was little high but we expect that for a resort restaurant and the food made it worth it.
It was delicious!
We greatly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the ambiance. The food was very good and well priced.
We appreciated the attention paid to us by the waitstaff.
We are making it our preferred place for both cocktails and dinner.
The only reason we chose this restaurant for our birthday lunch was its fairly convenient location for me and my dining companion and because of my experience with Different Pointe of View years ago. I expected a similar quality but was extremely disappointed. The wait staff was indifferent and poorly trained. We asked to share an appetizer, but they didn't give us separate plates until we asked. However, I was encouraged by a fresh hummus topped with an interesting assortment of roasted vegetables. After that it was downhill. Our main was delivered before we had made it through half the appetizer. After that they kept asking if we were still "working" on our food, which I find a grating way of asking if we were finished. Speaking of entrees--I ordered a chicken Caprise sandwich and she ordered a Ceasar salad with chicken--they were below par. The bread actually detracted from my sandwich, which had little flavor. My friend didn't complain about her salad, but it wasn't much more than a toss of some greens with some chopped chicken plopped on top. The dessert choices were the usual pedestrian selections. Our shared flourless chocolate cake was served with soup spoons, making it difficult to eat it. Meanwhile, no one bussed our table and the dishes from each course piled up. We just pushed them aside. Classy!
Booked a reservation for dinner, however the place was quite empty for a Saturday night so it seems a reservation is not needed. There were several large families having dinner nearby, some with unhappy babies and squealing children, so it’s definitely a family friendly place even in the evening. Hummus was yummy, but the green chili pork I requested from the menu, wasn’t available which was frustrating, so I went with the chipotle glazed pork instead. It was ok. Pork was super tender, but mashed sweet potatoes were watery and lacking flavor, and the dish only came with two single Brussels sprouts. For desert I had creme brûlée and while tasty, it was a bit over cooked so it wasn’t custardy at all. Service was good until we paid the bill, as the server never came back to see if we wanted more coffee. Overall, if staying at the hotel it’s not a bad choice, but I definitely wouldn’t come here if not staying at the hotel.
Food was awful. Service was amazing!
Dinner at Pointe In Tyme was a great evening. We went for a birthday dinner, our server Marlon was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. Our food was cooked perfectly, and was delicious. We will definitely be back, and would recommend to others!
The food was great. I love how the menu isnt huge, just a handful of options with enough variety to choose from. The ambiance is nice, but it was very busy and a little loud.
Wack, wack, wack.
I decided to bring my wife of 27 years back to the point where I proposed to her. We had a wonderful time at both The Point In Tyme and A Different Point Of View Restaurants and afterwords we sat on the great lounge and patio area above the cliffs looking across the entire valley and downtown area. What a great view!!
Food and service was awesome!! The chef created a wonderful dessert especially for us. Calling ahead, management was eager to find us a special table and we were very well taken care of. Thank you!!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary by having dinner at Pointe in Tyme. We chose this location because he proposed to me at Tapatio Cliffs. The ambiance was wonderful and our server, Michael, was very attentive and offered excellent food suggestions.
Great evening until baby was crying across the table
The bar made the dining area a little loud but it was fine. Our waitress was excellent and the food was quite good.
Went there for dinner and it was delicious.
Pork tenderloin, Ahi Tuna, Bibb salad.
Went back for breakfast in the morning.
Best Pineapple Upside Down pancakes ever.
We will definitely return.
Very good service.
The food was great and the service we would go back again
Expected much better after being to their Easter Brunch...which was very high level.
I was really happy with the staff we were treated when we walked in and immediately seated but when it came to the food it was a mess. We had found plastic in our food. That would be considered a physical hazard. The food was really bland it had no types of seasoning. I was really disappointed with the food considering how much it was. Anyways the staff was really polite but the food just wasn’t all there.
Love the experience every time!
Pointe In Tyme is an excellent casual restaurant. Good atmosphere and a wide variety on the menu.
Lovely setting, we were outside on the deck but inside was elegant and old-fashioned banquettes looked cozy.
Friend's pizza looked forgettable but my grilled cheese with spicy salami was yummy. Courteous and competent service as we had a bit of an emotional reunion was appreciated.
Very good value for the reasonable bill. Would definitely return.
Overall, food and staff at Tapatio Hilton was great all week. Concierge needed a Mimosa I think.
We love the beautiful high ceilings and heavy wooden beam atmosphere of this great restaurant. Love the bar for all the same reasons as well. Favorite dish is the Shrimp and Pasta...to die for. The big half-round padded booths are also very intimate and cozy as well as comfy. One our favorites in Phoenix for sure.
Undercooked burger and then brought it back on the same bun so it fell apart. Nice place, though and very nice resort
Quiet, friendly place to get together with friends and have a good meal.
The breakfast food options okay but service is great!!
I’d like this place a little better for a date night if they had easier parking, a larger menu and smaller tables. It’s really more geared toward families than one on one dates.
Still, the waitresses were friendly and the food is pretty good.
Really nice atmosphere and we loved the decor. The food was really delicious and cooked perfectly. I wish the host had paid attention to the fact I had let them know before hand that it was my husbands 50th birthday. I think we got there as they were finishing up lunch service and closing the restaurant until dinner, our server only checked in with us once before getting us the check as she was too busy doing her side work to get ready to leave.
Went there for NYE. The food was decent. Nothing over the top spectacular. The ambience was the highlight.
Very posh and high end looking but really very affordable. Decor is beautiful especially with classic Christmas atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines.
The person that cooks during lunch is much better than the person cooking at night! I don’t know why but the food taste disgusting at night it’s cold and it’s average. But during lunch the food is phenomenal
Quiet, intimate and comfortable with good food and excellent service. If you're looking for a bit upscale and a place you can converse with your company, give this place a try. It's well worth it.
Our server was Delores and she was amazing! Attentive and fun!
The service was great (Marion) but we both ordered the grilled shrimp pasta and were extremely disappointed. The shrimp weren't cooked well (one wasn't completely cleaned) and the pasta was gummy and poorly seasoned.
The variety at the buffet was excellent! However, since we were seated at 5pm some options were no longer available. AND, some of the vegetables were over-cooked; no longer having any crispness. Desserts were disappointing; many were cloying without much flavor. If you are going to accept reservations at the full price for that time, you should make certain guests have the full experience! We would most likely try out the place again next year with an earlier reservation to give it another chance.
The five cheese Mac and cheese was the best we’ve ever had!
Calamari included some fried artichoke hearts which was a nice touch. Bibb lettuce wedge was excellent. Only the cheesecake was only good but not exceptional like the other items.
Waitress was very personable.
The greeter didn't have my reservation, finally found it after I got it up on my cell. Service was a bit slow, and the food was below average for a nice restaurant. Ambiance was lovely. It might have just been the day.
