There’s a reason Poggio is on the Bay Areas Top 100 Restaurants year after year. It’s what dining out should always be—beautiful surroundings, impeccable service, and wonderful food at reasonable prices. We had the housemade cotechino sausage appetizer and then split their gem lettuce salad. The sausage was sooo good! Then we opted for the small portion of linguini and clams and seafood risotto. All sooo delicious! Our server was most attentive and we enjoyed the window seat looking out at the lights of Tiburon as we dined. A truly wonderful evening!

Our meal was amazing! This is truly one of the gems in culinarily starved Marin.

We really enjoyed our dinner. Nice menu, good food, good service but I would particularly like to mention how wonderful they were in accommodating us because we were caught in traffic and called that we would be late and they were very gracious and said they would make it work (considering all of the later times were fully booked) and they seated us promptly. We truly appreciated that and will be happy to return!

We were sitting indoor near the street side and the service was awful. I’ve never had this poor of service at Poggio.

Food was excellent, atmosphere rich and pleasant (somewhat "old school", which was a nice change from many of the edgier current restaurant environments), service was very attentive and well-informed. Would definitely go back.

Service was outstanding. We had a lovely table. We had two fish appetizers that were outstanding. Tuna Carpaccio and Yellowtail Crudo. Entree pasta were very good. A Ravioli type pasta with a beef shirt rib and a spaghetti type with a pork. For two people without drinks it was $100. Reasonable for the high quality of the food and the excellent service and lovely atmosphere. Also their wine list is incredibly extensive.

The food is, as usual, very good..There is a wide variety of choices, enough to suit almost anyone. Occasionally the service is a little slow.. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Marin

I just love this place. Our server was amazingly nice, friendly and had a very good feeling for everything. I sat there with my friend for a long overdue lunch and we had a delicious meal and a great opportunity to really talk. Our server knew when to leave us alone and when to come and hang round a little longer. She was amazingly nice and offered us great service. I have never doubted going to Poggio. It has always been excellent, with or without reservations!!!
I love it!

Staff was eating right at the next table on their break and the ones that are not on break were congregating around the same table( big round table in the middle) and they were very loud. A manager came and i thought he was going to stop them but instead, he got in to basketball conversation. Ruined our experience.

Unfortunately, the service was very poor although the food was excellent. The waiter did not take our drink orders for a long time and then we had to wait quite a while to even get the drinks. Then we had to wait another long time for him to come and take our food orders. We also had to ask for bread rather than being served once we sat down. Very disappointing service.

We went to Poggio for Christmas Eve after mass. It was so packed when we arrived that we had to leave and walk around for 20 min. we were told we had to wait. Got a bottle of wine and sat my elderly mother down finally. Other we seated before us, we sat, had no waiter, busboy, water, bread forever. Manager had to wait on us, no one poured our wine that was left on the bus stand... loud and terrible tasteless carbonara for my starving teenager. Branzino was over cooked. Sad Christmas eve! Sommelier was amazing!

The ambiance, food, service and attention to detail separates Poggio from any of its "so called" competitors in Sausalito, Marin County.

We always enjoy dining at Poggio. Very good food and atmosphere. We were a party of 5, and were put at a table for 4 with a square top added to accommodate our 5th. Was very shaky and uncomfortable. My back was pressed up to the glass wall. The table could not be moved even a couple of inches. Our main waiter was good, but the food was delivered by someone else. Only one order was delivered to the correct person , the last served. This was our 5th annual Christmas Eve at Poggio. A little disappointing to say the least.

I have been dining at Poggio since it opened. I am a Sausalito resident and a Poggio 'regular'. I'm sad to say the service on my last visit was horrible. We were seated in a section with no one else nearby by. One of the hosts initially took our drink order but then only one of two drinks arrived. I had to ask twice for mine. When we finally met our waiter he was barely engaged. He was apparently serving a large party nearby. When we asked twice for water he brought butter then walked away. We finally got the attention of a busboy who brought the water. There was an extraordinary wait between appetizers and our main courses. We couldn't get anyone's attention after we finished to get a bill.

Lovely ambiance! Professional, courteous waitstaff-seated immediately. Service of food excellent, presented thoughtfully. Can’t wait to go again! Husband had linguine w/clams-dine to perfection, I had the crab appetizer-scrumptious & split a salad w/my husband. Our guest had the pot roast-fantastic! Will order that next time! Great comfort food!!!!

Classy Northern Italian restaurant in Sausalito. One of the more popular local restaurants in Sausalito, so it can be busy.

Always a favorite. We drive from San Francisco, or sometimes just take the ferry just to eat ear here. Yes San Francisco has many options, but there's something special about this place. Great food and great service. Attention to detail.

Usually a very good reliable go-to, tonight’s dinner was disappointing. Salads good but all entrees very under seasoned and quail was served undercooked (sent back and it was comped). Assuming it was an off night, we will be back again but c’mon you can do better.

This was our first time we (party of 3) had lunch at this restaurant. We liked our salads (fresh Dungeness crab w/slices of blood oranges & bits of shell, and Calamari Salad). However, the Cauliflower soup with leeks and mushrooms tasted like a delicious Mushroom Soup with not a hint of cauliflower or leeks! For dessert, our server brought one of the diners chocolate gelato instead of vanilla, but she ate it anyway and commented that it tasted good! Our server was very friendly and professional, as was the rest of the staff at the restaurant. One of us will return next week for dinner!
