Philadelphia restaurant impresario Stephen Starr's retro-modern offering, located in the town's "University City" neighborhood, lets its guests sip sake, beer, and colored cocktails while munching on fresh sushi, dim sum, and Pan-Asian entrees. The hip, contemporary, "starship-like" space was conceptualized by famed Manhattan designer David Rockwell and influenced by the films "Sleeper" and "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Pod Ratings and Reviews
Not the same POD Ive experienced in previous years. They’ve changed the menu drastically and it’s not the same quality. The salmon was over cooked, had the lump crab California roll that was average, and the kobe spare ribs were ok, PF changs was better. I’ll stick to Buddakan and let the college students have this spot now.
Pod was perfect for date night. I really wanted a specific atmosphere when i was searching for a place but i also wanted to spend less than $100 including my tip, POD was a perfect medium. The lighting inside is fun but still really romantic, my drink was a little overpriced but that was to be expected. Delicious Sushi, delicious dessert. The service was great, plates were cleared and our server left us alone for the most part which i liked (biggest pet peeve is a constant "how are you, is everything good" when I'm trying to talk with my date). 10/10 would recommend.
Excellent dinner... loved every single bite and since it was our first time, we made sure to have appetizer, sushi, entree and dessert to have the total experience. Food came out almost too quickly since we hoped to linger a bit during our date. Delicious night!
This is my go-to Restuarant when I want to show guests a nice taste of Philadelphia. As usual, this place does not disappoint. If you go, make sure you try the lobster duck fried rice, the Shrimp pad Thai, the vegetable fried rice, the crab fried rice and the sorbets.
It was the worst experience ever. With the reservation we have to wait 30 min. Noise level was really high and server forgot to bring cake for my wifes birthday eventhough mention them in advance.
I wouldnt recomand this overpriced place with bad service to anyone.
This was my first time trying Pod and it was a very pleasant experience ! Good menu selection, ambiance was modern/futuristic. The space was larger than i expected. There was a conveyer belt that I’ll definitely have to try next time. Our server was attentive and friendly. A little pricey, but the food was delicious. I recommend at least trying once. 😁
Came with a group of 6 people for an early dinner and they put us in an elevated little room/pod which was fabulous. As the dinner progressed, it got louder out in the rest of the restaurant, but stayed really easy to hear our guests in the pod. I would definitely come with a group and request that table. Food was really good. Some of us had sushi, some had rice or noodles, and we all enjoyed a variety of vegetarian appetizers that were all great.
Had lunch date with our 23 year old granddaughter. We like to try different restaurants when we get together with her every few weeks. Selected Pod on location (University City) and menu. We were quite pleased with my choice. The food and service were excellent. Great ambiance; felt like we were visiting a futuristic space station. Surprised to learn Pod has been in business many years. How did we miss it? Look forward to returning when we are in the City next; we live 40 miles north. Worth the drive.
Excellent mix of sushi options along with a Robata Grill. The chicken in lettuce leaves with peanut sauce is outstanding as are the chicken satay skewers. On the day we were there service was very spotty took a long time just to get water or even a drink at first. It's a great place to order a number of different things and share them at the table.
