the waiter was very friendly, great experience
Wide selection of items...More than just sushi. Plates were a good size and fair priced. Some items were a bit spicier than usual ( pad Thai). Noisy but fun atmosphere.
Came from out of town - decided to try it from reviews and went there with sushi loving family
They loved it - the ambience is unique and fun. Great experience .
One bathroom was dirty and the water didn't run. The second bathroom was clean and useful.
Pod was great, as usual! The food, drinks and atmosphere are always good. Server was very nice.
Excellent food and service, great decor, and recommend for lunch or dinner whether for one, a few, or many.
The service was great. My wife's chicken dish was dry. The restaurant seemed a little worn down/tired and there was a humid smell, like someone just mopped the floors. Star restaurants have always been great. I hope this one becomes great again.
A little noisy but food was great.
The only problem was 2 of the drinks were very late serving them
It was great! Everything we were looking for in food, service, and environment. Would definitely recommend and be back!
Pod is a favorite lunch spot for special occasions. Had a wonderful birthday lunch there!
Very nice in general, but it would be great if the "pods" had the option for light that is not tinted pink, purple, blue, etc. At least one of our party was made very uncomfortable by the tinted lights, even on the most neutral setting.
Food was great but service was just ok. Hostess was not very welcoming. Additionally, we came to celebrate a birthday (i even specified on open table) but that was not addressed. Before we could order dessert the
I used to think of Pod as a special occasion type of place, but that was a number of years ago. Although I'd return, I'd have lower expectations. It's still good for groups because of the pods, but I found the food to be nothing special. The sushi doesn't seem to be as good as it was a few years ago.
I'd STRONGLY recommend staying away from any upscale liquor - or at least checking the price before ordering. I had one drink - Don Julio Tequila on the rocks, which is what I usually drink. It was a small pour with one big ice cube, and when the check came I was shocked to see that they charged $21 for it. The PA State Stores sell a full bottle of exactly what I had for $51.00. The most I ever paid before was $17; I thought that was a bit pricey for Philadelphia as well, but the glass had about 50% more tequila than the drink at Pod.
In addition, my note on Open Table that it was my daughter's birthday was never communicated to our waiter. He felt badly about it when he found out, and they didn't charge us for our two desserts, which was very nice.
I'd still recommend it, but other than the decor, in my opinion it's nothing special.
The bathrooms filthy...not clean in restaurant...service was so bad...wagyu came off the rock cold!!!!
Space is looking a little long in the tooth. Needs a refresh.
Good food although the sushi rice could be a bit better. Everything was still good. Reasonable prices for the quality. Great drinks
Everything delicious ! All loved it!!
Best Asian Fusion menu ever! Fun atmosphere and great sake / Japanese whiskey selection!
This was a return trip to Pod with my daughter, 13, who absolutely loves it there. We went before a show at the Annenberg on a Saturday night. The food was outstanding and whimsical, as we have come to expect. We loved our food--the scallops were especially wonderful and the kakigori was as amazing g as we remembered.
The service, however, was a bit off. It began when we arrived (on time) for a 5:45 reservation. (Our show at the Annenberg was at 8; the theater is a five minute walk away and we thought this gave us plenty of time). We were asked to wait for our table for at least 15 minutes. Afterwards, as we were brought to our reserved table we walked by at least 6 empty ones. This was ridiculous and the attitudes of the hostesses as we waited were haughty, disinterested and dismissive--this was not necessary.
Then, in a partially empty restaurant, we were made to wait an inordinately long time between courses. There were times when our server simply disappeared for long stretches. All in all, we finished dinner at 7:50 with barely time yo visit the restroom and get to our show.
This is not in keeping with the top service we experienced the last two times we visited, so we can attribute it to a glitch or "off night", but it did detract from our overall enjoyment of the experience.
Excellent food. Some dishes were a little slow to come out
Had reservation for 8:15pm, open table showed open availability with reservations yet we waited near a half hour to be seated past our reservation. Not to mention waiter took another 10 mins to greet us after seating. Called prior about accommodating sesame and peanut allergies yet when we arrived the waiter was concerned about the allergies limiting us severely with choices on the menu.
Had the round pod rigjt by the front - perfect for a group of 6. All the food was amazing! Service was impeccable, even as we were very indecisive! A great time!
I am a regular to this restaurant but last time I noticed they reduced the size of the salmon in the bento box. It was a very small piece, compared with what they used to serve before.
Seafood rice was tasteless, we sent it back. Server was very nice.
Great happy hour!!
Food was wonderful! Service was great ! Very beautiful the place was colorful and outstanding & the people were nice & kind you don’t see that at every restaurant
Very cool and futuristic restaurant. All white with lighting accenting modern shapes and a conveyer belt of dishes moving around a long counter. While I love the vibe of the place, most of the dishes were mediocre. Not bad but what you would find in an average Chinese or Japanese restaurant. A positive was the prices were fairly reasonable for a trendy, hipster spot.
Was there for my Birthday dinner. The food was excellent, the service was impressive and the whole ambience was very nice. Highly recommended be it for either enjoying a quiet dinner or celebrating an occasion.
Went to POD on a Friday night 3/15/2016.
I had a large party of 10 family member's which included my 2 grandchildren.
Our server Matt was very nice and very helpful & patient (especially with my 15mth old grand!)
Thank's so much for your outstanding service!
Most definitely coming back to POD & to see you again!
This time without the 15mth old! LOL!!!!
Thank's again & be well Matt!
Great food. Waitress was rude and unorganized. Maybe we caught her on a bad day...
Much better than my first visit which was about a year ago. Menu items were delicious. The Korean spare ribs and pork belly skewers had a little too much char on them from the grill, taking away the flavor of the food. Overall, it was great! Will return
Sushi sashimi quality is getting worse and worse. However, very pricey. Very disappointed
Never come back
Absolutely amazing experience! The service from the bartender, server and manager was out of this world!
Terrific food. Sushi was delectable! Service was friendly and attentive.
Time for a change Pod! First, your servers need to be educated on food and your menu items (your server TWICE told me items were gluten free - once even arguing with me). Second, the decor is becoming dated (you need a fresh coat of paint and new decorations in your back room area). Until and unless these changes are made, I won’t be back.
Food was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and kind. There was a
Great food like always. Good servers and service. Always a stop when I’m in philly.
