Delicious food, attentive service
The food was amazing and the service was exceptional.
Food and service was very good, the best pock chop I've ever had, no hyperbole here.
Food was great!!
We love the food and ambiance! If you try it, you will definitly return.
We really loved this restaurant. Excellent food and service along with a wonderful atmosphere We will return again soon.
Very good food at a steep price point. Buratta was excellent. Mushroom fricassee good but not as good as the one at Harvest. Entrees of duck breast, halibut and lobster special were very good. They have a pastry chef so leave room for dessert.
Mother’s Day dinner. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Food was excellent. Overall beautiful dinner!!
The meals were clearly freshly prepared and well presented. Portion size was generous. The decor was simple and modern. Despite a few inadvertent spills, the staff were eager to please. I would definitely return.
I can see how you maybe ? Could like this place if you have never been to a good contemporary American restaraunt before. Every dish seemed as if it’s just trying way to hard for this chef. Apples and cheese with calamari? Watery but hard risotto? Just weak all around, the decoration and writing on the wall look like a home goods
We all enjoyed the evening. Great play to celebrate a birthday
Heard about this restaurant for years but always waited too long to make a reservation. Planned ahead for a Sunday night anniversary dinner. Everything about the experience was top rate. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and look forward to planning ahead in the near future.
Sherri our server was wonderfully amazing and the food exceptional!! It was our first time dining at the poached pear and we will be back!!
Absolutely lovely and delicious food. We got a few of the specials and they were just amazing
The food did not have the “wow” factor that we expected. I guess we had higher expectations. Out of the four appetizers we ordered, the garlic shrimp was the best. The lobster bisque had a bit too much sherry. The grilled calamari salad and the fried calamari were tasty. Dessert and main entrees were not as good as expected. For the price, we thought we would be Wowed.
It was our first time to the Poached Pear. The food and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back
Meal was good, but I still think the restaurant is overrated.
Third time at poached Pear
A Wednesday night
First time food and service was good. But Something missing
Can’t put my finger on it but seemed like they were just going through the motions
Will go back though Before this time All was real good. service food
Food and service excellent but is not recommended for a quiet date night dinner
I was expecting great food but didn’t get it. The presentation was also not good. I really wanted to love it because the chef was from a wonderful restaurant from my town where the food was excellent. I was very disappointed
The food, dinner and dessert was the best ever. The environment very nice for an Easter afternoon with family.
Never disappoints. Service is very attentive and professional. Food is outstanding. From items on the menu to the specials of the day. Desserts are also outstanding even through its tough to leave room!
Our first time was excellent ! We got sat right away, pleasantly greeted by the host and the server. Very knowledgeable of the menu and specials of the night . Food was outstanding!
Fabulous food with great service, our new favorite restaurant!!!
This was my husbands birthday dinner, so I wanted it to be special. You did not disappoint. Everything was delicious !!!
Love this restaurant, kind of annoyed that I didn't find out/try this place sooner. The noise level on weekends is pretty high (like any normal busy restaurant on a Saturday night), so the 2nd time around we decided to go in on a weekday and it was awesome - the service and food were just as excellent as the 1st time, but it was much less noisy. The owner is very friendly and very welcoming. One of my favorite parts of the restaurant is the large waiting area, as it is a haven when my baby starts acting up. Duck breast with foie gras a must!
Service was outstanding. The food was extremely well prepared. Can’t wait to go back again.
Great food. Eclectic menu and great service. I would recommend it to anyone.
Always love my meal at The Poached Pear! Truly one of my favolitre places on the Jersey shore. Please keep up the great work. Awesome service too! (Thanks Trish!) Have a great holiday. Barney Gallassio
4th time there and each experience had been excellent
It’s the sixth time here and as we are avid foodies this is truly the best restaurant we have ever been to soup to Nutts the desert really puts this restaurant over the top of most absolutely amazing 👍👍👍👍👍
The food was excellent as well as the service I already recommended it to friends of mine that appreciate great food
First time at the Poached Pear and we were very impressed. They did a lovely job of fixing up an old storefront restaurant and turning it into a beautiful eating environment. Trendy, but not overly so. The service was exceptional. Sorry, but I forgot our waitress' name, but she was charming, attentive and knew the menu inside and out. My date had their 1-1/2 lb. maine lobster dinner that came with a large crab cake, presented in a large wanton with rice. The lobster was removed from the shell and poached in saffron, the crab cake was scrumptious. I had the ancho/coffee rubbed NY strip stake that was grilled to a perfect medium rare, served over a mushroom rissoto, with french-fried asparagus. Excellent paring and delicious. We shared a large cup of their homemade gelato, a combination of maple loaded with pralines. The food was pricey, but well worth every penny. If you have not been here before, you are missing out on a wonderful dining experience. It is owned by the former head chef of the renowned Whispers restaurant in Spring Lake. Loved it.
We have eaten here several times. Poached Pear is consistently outstanding. Food is superb I had the fish special with risotto, mushrooms and tomatoes, my better half had the lobster special both outstanding. Dessert the crepe cake and hazelnut gelato were to die for.
Great meal. We will return soon.
Tracey our waitress was fabulous! Very professional and friendly and anticipated everything we needed.
Always excellent food and service. Great ambiance.
Everything was terrific. Service, app, salad and main course were excellent.
Food and service never disappoint. We always return for another wonderful experience.
