Best carrot cake I have ever tasted in my life! I would go just for dessert because it was that good. The corn bisque, crab cake and sesame tuna are to die for.

I wanted to have a reservation for 6pm but there were no openings. When I received the call the day of the reservation, I requested 6pm again and was advised if there were any cancellations, they would call me. I did not receive a call. I showed up for my 5:15pm reservation and rooms were half empty at 6pm and by the time we left at 6:45pm, the restaurant was still empty so they could have accommodated my request but were obviously hoping for walk in customers that did not materialize. Part of my guest's salmon was very undercooked and had to be returned to the kitchen. The server was wonderful but portions small and we each received 1 roll. For a bill of almost $80 (no apps, salads or desserts) it was overpriced in my opinion. I did bring Little Debbie's as a bday desert as a joke and they made it look elegant and it was the highlight of our night.

I don’t want to tell everybody how good our dinners are every time we go because that will mean we would have a harder time getting reservations. YUMMY, YYMMY, YUMMY!!

Tasty scallops. Much better chef than at nearby Larrimar in Spring Lake.

Creative tasty dishes with plating that belongs in a recipe cookbook. Contemporary decor however does not absorb sounds well so as the room gets filled, the noise level escalates. Beware it is a BYOB.

One of our favorite restaurants down the shore, we always leave full and satisfied. The chef is skilled and creative with beautiful dishes that taste as good as they look. The staff is friendly and very attentive never letting your glass sit empty. Also, you can not pass on dessert by the fantastic pastry chef!

We loved everything from the decor to the service. The food was outrageous! We had the crab cake which was delicious! The halibut and filet mignon. The steak was like butter just melted. The fish was done to perfection. This was our first time and definitely won’t be our last!!!

Lambs chops were raw...vegetables hard, too noisy...little disappointed for a top 30 NJ restaurant...last summer was better!

We were excited to try the Poached Pear since we had heard such good things about it, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The service was very good, but the food was not cooked properly at all. My husband and I ordered the beef carpaccio, the prime rib, and the scallops. The carpaccio was ok, but it looked like it had been lightly cooked on the outside (carpaccio is supposed to be raw). The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the prime rib was way overcooked – more of a medium/medium-well instead of the medium-rare that we had asked for. It was also cooked very unevenly with some areas much more well done than others. This is not what I expect for a $40 steak. The risotto, which came with both of our dishes, was also cooked improperly. It seemed to be both overcooked and undercooked at the same time – firm and crunchy, but also too dry (more of the texture of sticky rice than risotto, which should have a loose texture). Good risotto takes time to make and it seems like they rushed it. To make up for our disappointment with the meal, the manager comped our dessert, which was also just so-so.
The Poached Pear seems to have high ambitions with its menu, but they need to make sure that they are taking the time to cook things with more care. I expect more from a fine dining experience.

Our "go to" byo place.....never disappointed! Food is always first class, as is the service. Not necessarily a good place for kids/small children as the menu options are not kid friendly.

My halibut was phenomenal, my husband’s pork chop was tough. It was very, very loud. We could barely hear each other...a little sound absorption is much needed.

Last Thursday, my husband and I dined with a couple from out of state. While the food did not disappoint, the price of the special halibut entree left us feeling snowed. It was very out of proportion to the menu entrees and the cost was not stated (nor did we ask - our bad!) when the server shared them with us. Again, the meals were fabulous, and we will be back, but next time, we will ask the price of any special we may be entertaining. We don't mind paying for delicious, well-prepared food, but we think it's a little sneaky when the specials are so out of line with the rest of the menu items.
The pistachio panko encrusted salmon and poached pear salad were incredibly delicious, and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the decadent flourless chocolate torte. My brother in law really enjoyed his sesami-ahi tuna, but found the key lime dessert to be less favorable. The halibut specials were cooked to perfection and also thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely worth the trip! And it's a bring your own!
