Our entire experience at the Poached Pear Bistro was first class. Our food was simply amazing. I got the cajun calamari with a peppercorn dipping sauce which is the best I ever had. My dinner was the crabby filet and it was the right choice. Terrific! Perfectly cooked filet with a wonderful crab cake. Thank you for excellent service, food and ambiance.

Everything was exceptional! Food was phenomenal from apps to dessert!! Even the cappuccino was perfect. My husband had the Rack of Lamb that was cooked to perfection. I had the Corvina Fish for the first time and it was amazing. Our server Ellen was spot on with everything and so friendly. The bus boy was even attentive with the table. This is a keeper on our list of the best restaurants!

First time I ate there. Went for Valentines with my Wife. Great food, amazing, nice atmosphere with little noise. For a nice place to dine it was well priced as far as the overall experience went. Will definitely be back and recommend to a friend.

We visited the Poached Pear for an early Valentine date night. The atmosphere was comfortable and uplifting. The food selection was plentiful. The specials were very creative and appealing. We had one entrée from the menu and one special. A minor substitution in choice of starch was accommodated with no hesitation. Flavors blended well on each dish. Service was friendly, courteous and professional, and left nothing to be desired. Desserts were unique. Ingredients were fresh. This was a top notch dining experience.

First off poached pear has gone downhill. Service was rushed and lack of friendliness from hostess to waitress, the busboys had more to say. My husband order the calamari grilled special awful & chewy I had the garlic shrimp on top of soggy toast . Salad was average nothing to brag about. Entrees was a ny strip special smothered in blue cheese and certainly not medium more like medium well also had the pork shank special which my husband said tasted liked bottles sauce on top he barely ate it . Reluctantly we ordered dessert big disappointment again dry fliourless cake really?? And creme brulee tasteless no delicious vanilla been at all . Awful will not return. Very cold place and not hospitable as well rushed service. Many better places to go down in point pleasant for sure. Don't waste your time or money just terrible!!!!

Classy and Delicious! Very friendly and professional service from Host to Bus Boy. From the warm roll to the entrée, we loved every bite! Appreciate the BYOB too. Can't wait to go back! You have to reserve at least a week ahead if you want a table between 5pm - 8pm even in winter. That's how popular!

Upscaled treasure in Point Pleasant. Food is delicious and presentation is perfect. Service is very attentive. Gets loud on weekends and very difficult to get reservations which is either too early or too late. I suggest going on a week night to delight your pallet. This is my favorite restaurant and I’m thrilled I live close enough to enjoy frequently.

We are local residents and this was our first visit to this wonderful restaurant. We found the menu selection quite varied, the dining room smartly appointed, the quality of the food was excellent, and our server Ellen was most helpful, attentive and delightful. Scott and his team are doing a professional job to provide a great dining experience! This was a birthday gift to me from one son and needless to say, I will not wait for another birthday to return. If I would offer one suggestion, I would change the background music to something other than jazz, just not my preference.

Everything has such wonderful complex flavor. Jersey corn bisque was smooth with a bit of bacon, red pepper coulis, all mixed for a beautiful bite. Duck confit ravioli with sweet potato puree was the best bite of the night. Rack of lamb had a touch of mustard and I loved the root vegetables and fingerlings they paired with it. My friend had the special, 1 1/2 lb lobster, shelled, atop a crab cake in a crispy shell over truffle mashed potatoes was a special. Our first time here and can't say enough. Profiteroles with chocolate sauce was decadent and light. It is BYOB so don't forget, and service was impeccable.

Food and presentation will please the picky foodie and the rest of the diners will love the flavors. Deserts are homemade and worth saving room for especially the Grand Mariner cake Look at the menu before you go and pair your wine , the food deservers it so spend a little more on the wine sit back and enjoy.
