Hands down the best restaurant at the Jersey Shore! Make a reservation and experience it for yourself...Chef Scott Host Marc and staff will make your evening most enjoyable...Remember to try and leave room for dessert!
Fantastic! Food and service were amazing. Always a great experience and one that we try to do often. Ordered all specials, grilled octopus for appetizer, lobster and seafood special for entree and apple spice bread pudding. Add the fact that it is BYO and guaranteed to drink the wine we like! Do not hesitate if in the area!
I am never disappointed with a meal there. Great service quality food and wonderful specials offered!
The food never disappoints. Too many great options. Unique combinations that delight the palate!
Met all expectations. BYOB makes the dining experience even better. Personable and attentive. Seated on time and the staff was flexible in reassigning our table without issue.
Surprised that the dress attire was overly casual for a high end food experience.
The dessert was terrific, Lemon Napoleon. We are still talking about it. Yum
The best. Food is always delicious. My favorite is the pork shop. Marc the front door man and brother of the chef is always pleasant and efficient.
It was our first time there and it didn’t disappoint! The food was delicious! The menu & specials offered a variety of choices. The service was very good. I can’t wait to go back!
We have never been disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was over the top delicious. Already making another reservation. Fine dining at its best
Great overall experience at The Poached Pear. Everything was wonderful. The service was fantastic. The spicy shrimp appetizer was one of the best I’ve ever had. The fish special was perfect and the scallops were the best I’ve ever had.
This was our first time dining at the Poached Pear. Food was great from appetizers to main course. Did not disappoint. Service was excellent! Atmosphere was relaxing.
We would definitely go back.
You cannot beat the food at the Poached Pear! It's absolutely outstanding. The decor is clean, modern, and fresh. My only complaint would be that the service is not up to snuff. Yes, the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. However, they need better training. After opening our water and wine, our server never once poured or refilled our glasses. There were several large tables in the room while we were there. In an effort to save a few steps and not have to walk to both ends of the table, their server nearly shouted the specials so that everyone at the long table could hear her. She seemed totally oblivious that there were other diners in the room. A restaurant with this level of food could have been so much better had they trained their staff properly.
Had a really nice Easter dinner here. Great food and service. We really enjoyed the calamari appetizer and the salmon and halibut entree. The creamed brûlée and napoleon desserts were delicious.
The food was delicious! The mushroom soup special was great! Margie is a terrific server. She is friendly and attentive. We will be back soon.
No doubt a favorite for the food and experience.. This place is nothing but amazing. My go to for sure.
Always a great dining experience at poached pear!
Food was outstanding. Service very attentive (Sherry)
Food incredible, staff incredible. Restaurant is one tasty place. Dining room staff know their menu. Prices match the quality of the food.
Absolutely amazing meal. Highly recommend this restaurant. There wasn't any item that disappointed.
Best dinner on the Jersey Shore. Took the kids & grandkids. The service & food ROCKED! Keep up the great work.
Love love love this place. Such ana amazing ambience with top of the line food quality. Do not hesitate to boom your special night here.
My first time at Poached Pear and I loved it! My husband and I shared our dishes and we loved everything! Service was wonderful too! We had the Pear Pizzetta to start which was delicious! The scallops were amazing! We finished with the chocolate lava cake with white chocolate ice cream. Yum! Yum!
Always wonderful food. Service is always good. owners are always pleasant and make us feel special. Best place in NJ .
The menu goes beyond the shore area repeats. Always nice to find well prepared unique dishes.
Unfortunately disappointed with a mixed seafood salad where the octopus was very tough.
Rooms are very loud, our server actually had to shout to be heard.
Never disappointed at Poached Pear.
Food, service, and ambiance is amazing.
Love having dinner here the wait staff and owner are very friendly!
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Poached Pear has been one of my favorites for years. I was thrilled to be back again last week. The food is still delicious and the service is still excellent.
Never disappoints !
The food was delicious. The halibut was tasty and well prepared. The poached pear salad was a nice start to the meal.
It is a pleasure yo have fine dining so close to home.
Food was delicious - there were 4 of us: We had the Lamb, Cod, duck and a special - everyone loved their food. We also had the garlic shrimp which was delicious and the asparagus fries...definitely going back to this restaurant...the service was also very good
Poached Pear is consistently one of the best restaurants in our area of the shore. All the restaurants here are expensive and most have “good” food, but not worth the cost. Poached Pear’s menu and food quality is fine dining, it can compete with NYC restaurants for its quality. Kudos to the chef.
The food was amazing and service was great as well.
Fabulous food and presentation!
Was very surprised to be greeted by someone wearing a sweatshirt at a fine dinning establishment. I was very dissatisfied with the crab cake appetizer that I asked multiple times if it had lump crab meat and it didn’t. The waitress dismissed my comment about the crab cake as well when it came out with all shredded crab instead of lump. The Veal porterhouse that I order medium rare came out pretty close to well done and again my server dismissed my comment and said she thought she saw some pink. For this price point I expect my meat cooked to my liking and even more importantly I don’t want my feedback dismissed. The desert was good and my guests meal was perfect I probably wouldn’t go back, especially for the price point
Dinner for a special birthday - just as everyone reviewed, perfect service and food! The celebrant would have been happy with a big cheeseburger and a Blue Moon, but it was our 1st time eating indoors with his best friends I want his 60th to be remarkable. Yes, he considered the menu as frou frou, but the appetizers, salads and entrees did not disappoint any of us!
The waitress who said she has worked there since they opened 7 years ago was lively and knowledgeable. She did not rush us as we took the time to read the menu and consider the specials she mentioned. She helped us pick between each of our dish considerations.
For me, she recommended the crab cakes highlighting they are made with no filler, "gluten-free" served with roasted vegetables. I only wished I had more roasted sweet carrots than potatoes. So much crab meat packed in one cake, that the second cake had to come home, so there is room for birthday cake (brought with the wine and beer) and coffee.
The men all ordered the same dish... the apple brined pork chop. A thick chop with spaetzle and red cabbage, a gourmet level up from his Mom's German cooking. At the end of the meal, he declared he was thrilled we celebrated here and not at a burger joint. He wants to return!
Quite impressive to us all was how hard the young waitstaff subtly kept our glasses full, cleared between courses and served the food. We will definitely return, so we can try other dishes and their desserts.
The food was excellent.....fresh, not overly seasoned, beautiful presentation and an explosion of flavor for the taste buds! We purposely left room for desert and it was worth every calorie. You must have desert, they are exquisite. Social distancing was being practiced so we felt very comfortable and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to dining there again very soon.
We recommend the poached Pair everything is great
Perfection in an evening. My husband and I took my daughter and son-in-law to dinner for their birthdays. Our server Eric was outstanding, service impeccable and did I mention the food? Unbelievable! I still can’t believe this was the first time we dined here and it surely won’t be the last.
I cannot believe I had not dined there before. Superb in every category with the service so good it should have an ‘extraordinary’ category. Don’t miss this BYOB GEM!
