Plumsteadville Inn Ratings and Reviews
On a positive note:
Everyone enjoyed their meals. Chicken marsala was delicious and generously portioned.
The two chicken parmesan fans were not disappointed. Fish and chips were average, but served with regular French fries instead of traditional English "chips." Caesar salads were good, and with the
addition of buffalo chicken, amazingly good. Veggie stir-fry with chicken was enjoyed as well
as French onion soup and mozzarella sticks. The food here is above average and we would
return for the food. Service was sufficient.
We were, however, disappointed with our seating. We were celebrating my Mom's 82nd birthday,
and she selected the Plumsteadville Inn. When we made the reservation, we requested the
Garden Room, but we were not informed that it was booked for a private party. It would have
been nice to have known that, unless it was booked after our reservation. We would have
preferred a round table in the Garden Room, but instead we were seated in a smaller room at a
rectangular table without a view. We were disappointed and may not consider
Plumsteadville Inn again for a special occasion.
Great food, great service, waiter and staff were very attentive and overall, the experience was perfect. We went with 4 kids and other guest and the kids really enjoyed their meal to. The baked brie cheese was outstanding. Steak was cooked to order perfectly. Aged strip steak was really tendor, great job to the staff.
Our waitress Lisa took amazing care of us on this valentines day dinner. Rainbow trout was fantastic and the duck was out of this world. Food didnt take forever to come out, we got serenaded by a barber shop quartet group and a piano player in the bar area was a great touch. Definitely will be headed back and already have spread the word about this great place
My wife and I like coming here for a quick meal. We sat in the bar area which is very loud do to the piano player. We had a hard time having a conversation. I had fish and chips which were excellent. My wife had Chicken Marsala which she said was good. The bread pudding is to die for! It is a must have. Our server was poor at best. Very busy talking to everyone at the bar....we had to ask for our change and when she threw the change on our table.
The food is always good. The menu is large with a variety of choices in many categories. Never had a bad meal. The wait staff is wonderful and friendly. Beautiful interior rooms set the scene for a relaxing and delicious meal. This is a "go to" place for me always!
One person in our group received a steak that was overcooked, They offered him another steak which took so long to come out that the rest of our group was completely done dinner. The second steak was under cooked. They only offered to give him a free dessert. None of us were having dessert. They should have taken the steak off the bill. Very poor customer service,
The service was on spot , no wait time.we got seated right away, waiter was very attentive, made suggestions and food was brought out hot.we were seated in a side room and a couple families with children came, but were well behaved, noise level was low, you could hear each other talk. Definitely would go back.
The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and enthusiastic about the menu;
The menu itself is diverse, from the basics to some very creative options - both our meals were fresh, nicely presented and delicious. The décor and atmosphere were sophisticated in the dining rooms and relaxed in the bar area; in both cases, the Evangelista family has done a beautiful job of restoring their historic gem to a well laid-out floorplan, and the noise level was always comfortable, despite a full house.
We have not been to 'the Plum' since it reopened in 2012, but will make it a regular stop in the future.
Great spot. Sat right next to the live music act (which was very good) but a member of our party had a hearing problem, and there was no where else to seat our group. Food was good and despite 2 large parties that evening, was served hot and in a timely fashion!
The food is fair, not worth the price, but the girls like to meet here just because it's convenient! My spinach salad was lacking in flavor;it could have used more goat cheese, candied pecans, something! My friend ordered a portobello panini, not what she expected! The mushrooms were small slivers, not the whole mushroom you would expect. It's close to home and the service is excellent, that's why we go!
There are differerent rooms, each with a different ambiance. We opted for quiet and it was(and pretty). Service is attentive, food very good. There is outside seating but as much as I like to sit outside, sitting right on Easton Road is not my idea of relaxing.
We had a group of 8, and were placed in a large noisy room adjacent to the bar, with live music. Made it a little difficult to talk. We were seated on time for our 7:00 reservation, and ordered fairly promptly. But we weren't served entrees until after 8:00. My 80-year-old mother-in-law thought we were never going to be served. We'd probably give it another try, but will ask to be seated somewhere where conversation would be easier.
Dining in the bar area is not a great experience if you want to have a conversation. Despite making a specific request for the dining room on open table, we were seated near the bar. When told about the specific request, we were greeted with blank stares and informed that nothing was available in the dining room. The musician was too loud for 7:00 pm diners. Too bad because the food is pretty good.
went for anniversary dinner on sat nite, made reservations thru open table, thought the meal was overpriced, for the lobster mac app, at 11.00 and the crabcake dinner was 28.00 for 2 crab cakes, standard sides of zucchini, and baked potato. i had a draft beer,, 6.00
tax tip came to 90.00 which was overpriced, for what we received will recommend for lunch next time,
It was our first time at Plumsteadville Inn and it was fantastic. We were looking for a new place to dine and were impressed with the wide variety of menu choices, the excellent food and very attentive and friendly service. There are great rooms for romantic dining, family friendly dining, outside dining and also for a lively bar experience.
We had a romantic dinner in one of the more formal dining rooms and it was quite pretty. Our service was excellent, efficient and friendly. Food was quite good, and an excellent selection - from casual to fine dining. Reservations were handled perfectly, and we were greeted immediately upon arrival. Bar was full of patrons talking and laughing. Outside area was full of patrons enjoying happy hour and a D.J. Children seemed to enjoy the place too!
Quite nice, and not "stodgy," like the old restaurant of 5 years ago. TRY IT OUT!
Ordered chicken marsala and did not think marsala wine was used. The chicken tasted very odd and bitter....not the way marsala should taste. After dessert I ended up in the bathroom with terrible intestional distress and had to remain there for a lengthy time. At this point , think I was served a BAD meal.
