Plumeria Beach House Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I have come here for multiple occasions and every time has been wonderful. It is very well maintained, the waitstaff is super friendly and very attentive. We enjoy the food and selection. The view of the ocean is amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
Plumeria Beach House is one of my favourite places to visit in Hawaii and I love taking people there for the first time. The a la carte menu is great and the meals are huge! The corn beef hash is very nice but my new favourite is not always on the menu - smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel - the BEST! I photographed it once and now show it to other restaurants and cafes to see if anyone can live up to it - no-one else can even come close!
The only problem I had with this restaurant was the birds that kept on bothering us for food. We were sitting in the inner part and it was terrible. They would go in the bread bowl and on peoples plates. I think that’s a big health hazard.
I was very disappointed! They have gotten worse!
Sorry to say this was my least favorite visit to restaurant. The salad was probably worse I️ have had at this caliber restaurant. Like they ran out of dressing after putting one fourth of the needed amount and I️ don’t like lots of dressing on salads. Could have asked for more dressing but didn’t. Clam linguine was dry and had no flavor. My wife had halibut but again no flavor. Service was not great at all. Very friendly but had hard time understanding and I️ am local and used to speaking with ESL individuals.
I saw the plumeria seafood buffet on the kahala hotel website, so since it was my husband, niece, and sister in law birthdays I decided to try it. The buffet was good the fish was very fresh. The nigri sushi was very good the sashimi was very fresh. Was a little disappointed on the hot entree line had to wait for the steam crab to come out once it came out ran out again I guess people just load up their plates the miso butterfish was always empty in the steamer but at least My family enjoyed and that's the main thing.I feel that they just couldn't keep up replenishing the buffet line with all the people eating their seafood all at once, and even when the crowd died down some of their trays were empty.
Great open air restaurant w/ocean view. Restaurant was busy & crowded. Our waiter Brian was excellent; took our order, we were served quickly; checked back w/us during the meal & kept our water glasses filled. We enjoyed dining at the Plumeria Beach & will come back soon!
We had a noon reservation. We were seated at noon and was only served water for 10 minutes. I had to approach the hostess station to request a server come over. I was given lots of excuses as to why she hadn't been there. Another waiter came over to "cover for her". He did a good job. Your service needs to improve significantly. Guests in your hotel and restaurants MUST be made to feel special. The beautiful view isn't enough.
Beautiful ambience. Great friendly valet service.
Seafood buffet and menu orders were excellent. So, it’s very unfortunate that our service was so poor.
Our waitress was sub standard on many levels. I am not exaggerating when I say they are too numerous to mention. I will take that up with the hotel.
I will continue to patronize the restaurants at Kahala because of the location, ambience, and sentimental long history our families have with the restaurants.
A lovely pause button was pressed in four women's lives. From beginning to the end, wonderful staff of the Kahala and Plumeria Beach House enveloped us with a relaxed friendliness that was so very much appreciated and enjoyed. Everything from the delectable food and wine offerings to the warm breezes and gentle sounds of waves upon the sand, all conspiring to gently pick apart the tight tangles of life and caused one to deeply breathe. Mahalo.
There wasn’t any thought put into the presentation of the plating. (Chicken tacos and pot pie) It was just plopped in the plate. Food quality was less than ordinary for a 5 star hotel. It took us over a half an hour to get our food along with that I had to summon the waiter to ask where our food was. Wrong salad dressing .... I disregarded this as it took so long to get our food.
Very disappointed for the Kahala hotel restaurant !
Their outdoor dining tables and chairs were the cheap resin kind! So bad that we moved inside. Embarrassing for a business meeting.
I have been going to Plumeria for many years for its beautiful, beachside location, and particularly the availability of outdoor seating. Service is good and will take a hint to back off, like when we asked to be allowed to talk in peace. Wine list is limited but well chosen. Food is hit or miss, lately more of the latter. My spicy tuna appetizer was excellent. A double serving would have made a great meal. My main course, pork chop, was bone-dry, and my friend did not enjoy her fish entree either. Live music was an unpleasant surprise. I don't recall it before, or perhaps I was never close enough to be bothered. Overall, the value of the place is in the location and ambiance. I will be back, but next time I may play it safe and stick with an appetizer and a pasta entree.
The view at Plumeria Beach House is beautiful. The ocean, beach, and sand are right there in front of you. The breakfast buffet is nothing extraordinary, but it is good. You can eat leisurely and the staff will never rush you. However, I feel like the hotel has lost some of its hospitality. It used to feel very luxurious and very classy here. I feel the staff is not as friendly, warm, or inviting anymore. You can see that the hotel is aging and that it has some natural wear and tear. Overall, a pleasant experience, but expected a little more.
