Very disappointing. Food was good, but lacked anything special. Service was sloppy and certainly not to be expected from a Michelin restaurant. Over priced considering, especially considering we visited a restaurant the following night which was much better, and didn’t have a Michelin Star or the associated price tag.

I went for to celebrate my best friend’s birthday & they even put her name on the menu! Food was not worth the price in my opinion..except the dessert. You can never go wrong with that! Service was wonderful!

Great wine list! The first wine I order was not available, second choice was available. Nevertheless an impressive and well priced list.

Had the Virginia quail appetizer, prepared beautifully and was delicious. For the main we both had the Dover Sole, nicely prepared, but we have certainly had comparable or better. The sides served were ok.

Desert was very good.

All in all we expected more from a Michelin starred restaurant. So a bit disappointed.

Ambiance and service were impeccable. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Sommelier was very helpful in a selection. We have eaten everywhere, and this was a special experience. They deserve their Michelin star.

This was our first time dining at the Plume. When I made the reservation I didn't see that they had just earned their first Michelin star. Now, we have dined at a restaurant that has three Michelin stars & I must say that I have no idea why Plume only has one. We did the tasting menu with the classic wine pairing. The food was exquisite. The duck brought tears to my eyes. The bison was just phenomenal. The wines paired with each dish were perfect. Our server & wine server were excellent & personable. We have now found our special occasion restaurant.

The decor was as expected for a classic hotel but we were very comfortable and treated like royalty by everyone from beginning to end. The food was delicious and the wine recommendations were perfect. Very accommodating.

We celebrated our anniversary on New Years Eve with the special price fixed menu. Everything was delicious and the service superb. It is very hard to justify the price, though. Early seating dinner for two with two drinks each and tip was a little more than $600. The only meal we have eaten that was more expensive was at the Inn at Little Washington, and it wasn’t much more expensive than Plume. The price will probably keep us from returning.

We were guests of the hotel and have dined at Plume 4 other times. This experience was much different. Because of where we were seated, it was a constant flow of people going through the door to the bathroom and the wait staff running in and out of the kitchen with their large trays of food ...that was our view, those were our sounds. We had the same waiter as we had a year ago and our experience with him was the same...disappointing.
The food was, as it has always been, amazing. They could do a better job at blocking off the area to the kitchen as no diner should have to spend what should be a special evening , wishing to experience Plume the way it’s meant to be, wishing they were seated somewhere else.
Very sad for us. No one seemed to think there was any sense of urgency to make our evening one to remember

The worst experience ever. Even though I had a reservation was seated 45 minutes late. Got seated at the worst table in restaurant by the food service corridor. Later in the meal the waiter placed a knife in the table. It stuck the table because it had food in the back side of the knife. After I got home I noticed my velvet jacket was covered in food on the back because I was seated with my back to the food service area the bus boys and food service were spilling food all over it. This place is the worst. Don’t waste your money

We spent Christmas Eve at Plume and was absolutely wonderful! Ambiance is great and the service was perfect. The menu was delicious as well the wine selection and cocktails selection. An evening to remember! And come back!

We were looking forward to Plume since last year it was so nice. This year it was awful. My worst dinner experience of the year. Service was terrible. The water server spilled water all over the table as he would hold the bottle from the bottom of the bottle. He would reach over people to pour water. Just terrible. Our waiter seemed to not know what was in each dish and he also spilled wine on me.

We got the Vegetarian menu. It was inedible. We came home and ate a sandwich afterwards.

We were so disappointed since we had a wonderful experience in the past. I really felt ripped off.

Made Reservations for my wife's birthday. Ambience was great, service impeccable. Food was paired very nicely with the wine.

This would be a special occasion venue since it is a bit pricey. Overall, 5 stars on everything and 4 stars on value only because of the price point.

Highly Recommended!

Service was a little slow at times and a little too loud. There was a laege table of about 12 in the small dining room that probably contributed, but food was excellent and otherwise service very good. It was a birthday celebration. We had a good time.

We could not have been more disappointed with our Thanksgiving experience at Plume. My boyfriend and I were unable to be with our families during the holiday and were excited to knock this all-American restaurant off our DC bucket list. Unfortunately, half of the food we were served was inedible (lime green "flan", soft brown "gnocchi", dry block of "stuffing", burnt potato "cake"), and the other half was just ok.

We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since they might not have had their normal staff onsite due to the holiday, so I sent them an email the next day to let them know about our experience. Two weeks later, no one has replied. If you cannot maintain your quality standards on a holiday, you should not be open. If you cannot take the time to respond to customer's feedback, you should not call yourself "upscale fine dining." After spending $200+ per person on what should have been a special evening, we will not be eating at or recommending Plume to friends again.

The hotel restaurant and management were made aware management of significant dietary restrictions includinding allergies in our party of four many weeks in advance. There were no apparent adjustments that were made; the choices were quite limited and several of the meal’s portions were quite small. The prices were very much in excess of the food offered, not a good value for this Thanksgiving meal. The meal was so lacking in substance that it became necessary to purchase additional food later in the evening to compensate for the lack of attention to customer service and needs.

We came for the prix fixe Thanksgiving menu and weren't impressed. The restaurant setting is gorgeous and the staff friendly and attentive. As a Michelin star restaurant, and for the price ($108/person), we were expecting a certain level of creativity and found the menu to be quite simple and just "good." Nothing exceptional.

My favourite part of the meal (other than the company) was how pleasant the setting was. It was as if we were enjoying our meal in a beautifully decorated conservatory. With regards to my culinary experience, the oxtail consommé is a personal recommendation, while the bergamot soufflé was a little too sweet for my tastebuds.
