Just OUTSTANDING! Celebrating my wife's Birthday, and she was soooo pleased! Piano Bar after dinner was terrific, too. Excellent cuisine, warm, inviting and very classy ambiance, coupled with a very hgh level of Service and attention to detail. Our new favorite place in DC!
An absolute pleasure to spend time with family in this establishment. Great food, service, and attentiveness are all the hallmarks of a great restaurant. Plume exceeds all expectations, especially catering to food allergies. Thank you very much. The Queen family
Vastly overpriced holiday menu. Most courses seemed composed of pre-cooked items kept warm in an oven, consequently slightly dried out and flavorless. The wine pairings were mediocre and also overpriced, indeed Moresco, averaging $35 per glass; a Gevery -Chambertin was madeiraized and should never have been served. Pleasant waiter, unpleasant sommelier. Tables too close together for much privacy . Why Michelin gave this a star? I suppose because the menu is somewhat innovative—in theory, even if not well executed, and the chairs are Louis XV. At nearly $1000 for two people this meal was most disappointing.
We celebrated our anniversary here. We are well traveled foodies. It is rare for us to enjoy every course of a meal. We ordered different items, and each one was 5 stars. If I cold give more than 5 stars I would. Did i mention the service? Also outstanding. We’ll be back for sure. Try the lobster and the foie gras. Blueberry lemon desert is wonderful.
Wonderful, I always enjoy fine dining at Plume's
Dined with family for Christmas with the Special
Menu offered. It was tremendous. Start to finish, clearly we made the right choice to enjoy our holiday meal with the team at Plume.
Service, we were seated in the wine room, was top shelf. Professional, attentive and effortless. Farkoue, may not be correct, was a true gentleman and a sure hand of his craft. He was a joy to be at his table.
The Sommelier was likewise a gentleman, engaged with our selections and also a genuine professional.
A must stop for a fine dining experience, Holiday or not. We will be back for the. Prix Fie menu.
A first Christmas Dinner:
Me and my sister dined at the Plume during Christmas 2018. We were greeted by a warm welcome by valet. The ambience once you walk inside is lux. We were shown to our table by the hostess. The bar was impeccable and decorated straight out of an upscale magazine. The dining area was intimate. There were multiple servers who assisted our table throughout the dinner service. For an appetizer, I ordered Christmas ham with potato salad (both items were a little dry) for an appetizer. Overall, I was unimpressed by the appetizer as I left most of it on the plate. My sister had a lobster bisque for her appetizer. She had to send it back because the soup was cold. We both ordered the prime steak with veggies, kale, and a sweet potato slice that looked like pie but had no taste. The steak was delicious. The deserts were ok. I had a chocolate yule (a whipped mousse) and my sister had a pear cheesecake (delectable). We also ordered a bottle of champagne. The total bill came to $356 excluding the gratuity. We each tipped $20. We also had to pay an extra $15 for valet parking (which should have been comped considering the meal was anything less than perfect). Overall, the experience was ok. The buildup to the dinner was almost better than the actual meal.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dining.
Christmas Eve - prefixed menu, mostly fine. The fish & beef courses were very good. The duck was was served cold & was not crispy as described by our waiter, so that disappointed. The desserts were middling. While the wait staff and sommelier were attentive & helpful, the waiter was a low talker & unclear. Our waiter’s overall attitude was that of someone doing you a favor. When our waiter mistakenly got one of our party’s order wrong, he was initially defensive rather than solution oriented. Ultimately, we found Plume underwhelming & overrated on this night.
An excellent restaurant consistently serving a creative offering, impeccable service and a great value for money
We have eaten at 8 of the 13 Restaurants in dc with one Michelin star. This is by far the worst. Not even in the same category as Masseria or Komi. Not a single dish stood out and several were terrible. The puff pastry on the wild boar Wellington was completely raw and the consumme was bland. There are a lot of great options fine dining in DC. Go elsewhere.
Excellent service and wonderful dining experience. We really appreciated that our waiter allowed us to order seared foie gras as an appetizer even though it wasn't on the appetizer menu. We also loved the amuse bouche and the pre-dessert. We both ordered the lobster gratinee, which was delicious. Was very glad it was not baked with cheese (as gratinee seemed to suggest). We were given a lovely table in a semi-private alcove area, which we really loved. We also lucked out by getting a parking spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Thank you, Plume!
Disappointing given the Michelin star. Much more expensive than what it should have been - a mediocre dinner at gourmet prices. Makes us doubt the Michelin system.
Everything was great, but for a $600 dinner- just not there.
The staff was European-style professional without being intrusive or a part of the occasion. The menu selection was perfect. The food was exceptional and we left sated and stuffed.
Excellent cuisine with an excellent service. We had a very good evening - We definitely recommend the place.
Perfect! Nothing more to say
I was visiting Washington DC for 10 days and had read good things about Plume so I went there for dinner, not once, but TWICE on my visit. Both times the food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere is perfection. Both times I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. They know how to do this right and everyone was genuinely enthusiastic about my having a wonderful experience.
Birthday celebration. It was perfect.
A really great dining experience! If you're a foodie, this is a great place to go. The wine list is huge and a little overwhelming, but the wine director came out himself and helped us make a choice. Service was great, food was amazing! Highly recommend!
Been to Plume often.
Excellent! Loved the food and service. All was great.
Food amazing service amazing
Superb service, great food, excellent wine with each course, and a great ambience!
We had an excellent evening and Betsy enjoyed her birthday celebration.
Fabulous! Outstanding food and spectacular service. Wine pairings were spot on. Duck pate and dessert were the best. Fish was a little bland but still delightful.
Good food, but not exceptional. Wonderful, romantic ambiance with a special occasion date feel. There were unnecessary gaps between some courses and an incredible delay for dessert. Fantastic wait staff with perfect recommendations. As a NYer accustomed to fine dining (Daniel, Le Bernardin, Per Se, etc) this experience was notable but not memorable.
We went to Plume for our 5th Anniversary. It was stellar. The ambiance, the table (we sat in one of the 3 recessed tables, completely away from the world), the food, the service (Paul was amazing)! Can't say enough!
Excellent, inventive food. Attentive service.
Great meal with great service. Nice place and very comfortable. Reason not 5 stars on food rating was a slight miss on the sauce for the lobster on the tasting menu. Small point. Everything else was really good. Fois gras was a standout. Great wine list.
The cocktail was bad, and we’ve tasted better food. For a Michelin rated restaurant the food was disappointing. The location is good and the restaurant interior is very nice. The staff is a little arrogant. Bad cocktails and average food. It is served pretty but it does not taste out of this world for the money you’ll pay for it.
Have been to plume before and again they have not disappointed. Everything prepared perfectly. Great service. Love the dining room, especially on the Greenhouse side (they have nice quiet tables in side rooms).
It is a bit pricey, especially markups on wine, but nothing unexpected for the venue and Michelin star. Very formal atmosphere, which actually is a nice feature for a special occasion dinner.
Menu also has plenty of variety, so even if you are a vegetarian, you can do just fine here.
Amazing culinary experience. The tufted purse bench was a nice touch. Pre appetizer, pre dessert, post dessert, and even chocolates upon exit really made you feel pampered.
Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Excellent wine list. What more can anyone ask for?
More than just wonderful food, it's a dinner experience. The service is phenomenal.
Great for and service. The ambiance is also very nice and cozy with a nice hint of romantic
Best meal I have ever had. In addition, the atmosphere and staff was so accommodating and polite. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I have been to Michelin star restaurants in New York, San Francisco and Washington DC. This is one of the best, if not the best. Well deserved Michelin stars.
Great food. Greater service. The restaurant offers free valet and complimentary chocolate. They also arranged my special requests well. Very satisfied. Willing to revisit again.
We loved everything about it !
