It was well worth the price to dine here Friday last. We wanted a special night and we got it. We did the tasting menu and came away saying " wow". The service was as good as it comes and the ambiance perfect. Great place for a very special event.

Not up a Michelin star experience. Rushed service, inferior food prep, overpriced.

Faultless Service, nicely paced meal, innovative cuisine (including a filet of wild salmon cooked at the table in hot, molten beeswax), all in a sumptuous, quiet setting. Truly memorable!

Disappointing. Did the tasting menu and was not delighted and surprised like I have been at many of the area’s fine dining establishments. Very disappointed with the wine pairings...they had the classic pairing for $110 and the premium for $195. I figured that the classic pairing would certainly be enjoyable so I did not opt for the extra cost. Clearly, they try to save money with the classic pairing...I was served an average Greek white, an unpleasant Serbian white, and a forgettable Oregonian 2014 Pinot Noir. Really surprised that a Michelin-Starred restaurant was not a complete delight. I recommend folks go to Metier or Pineapple and Pearls if they’re looking to splurge for a special occasion!

Spotty tasting menu - a few great elements, but not consistently 1 star quality throughout. Unimaginative slab of beef as the main course. Not a particularly good cut or seasoning and uninspired accompanying veg. Ambiance is of course excellent, and the staff were superb. All in all, a great restaurant but I would chose of the ala carte menu and not the tasting menu.

I have been to many DC restaurants and several 1, 2, and 3 star restaurants.
Plume was very nice. The food was very good

The service was exceptional.

Plume was over the top amazing. There is no criticism I can conjure to add. When I say they do everything exceptionally, I am not exaggerating. I easily see why they hold a Michelin Star award. Thank you sincerely. Our parent's were pleased and entertained the entire evening.

Accommodating and gracious in changing tables and with food allergy; excellent service, wine suggestion, and meal. Enjoyed the prix fixe with various amuse-bouche to keep things interesting. Some surprising textures and flavors that worked very well and made us smile as they caught us off guard. All dishes executed near perfection with the exception being a risotto that lingered perhaps a minute too long on the burner (yet still very good). Generously sized dishes, surprising in this category. Highly recommended, a wonderful dining experience.

Excellent food. The lobster and bison were perfectly prepared. Only problem was that we ran out of room in our stomachs.

VERY disappointed in the “texture” of the courses and the food flavor profiles. Presentation ok.
I certainly would remove the Michelin star.
We are worldly ,well traveled foodies and I was a former Bailli of La Chaine Des Rotisseures in Central NC.
I have a simple criteria: the food should taste good, and it didn’t.
Pretentious.
The servers were excellent as was the Somm. However, I would be embarrassed if I were the chef... Dr Vincent Paul

For a Michelin rated restaurant my entire experience there was very disappointing!

Except for the wine steward, whom was exceptional, there was no “WOW” about any of the food dishes and the waiters were very snooty!

Very disappointing. Food was good, but lacked anything special. Service was sloppy and certainly not to be expected from a Michelin restaurant. Over priced considering, especially considering we visited a restaurant the following night which was much better, and didn’t have a Michelin Star or the associated price tag.

Cannot say enough good things about the service and ambiance. Very intimate, classic, and superior service to anything in DC. We went to Plume for a midweek date and were blown away by the service an ambiance, particularly since we had an early reservation (7pm). We were seated in front of the fire and had the place to ourselves for our first course. Tables were filled by 9pm. The tasting menu was good, but the sommelier pulled the evening together to make the experience worth the price. The flourish at the end, waxing and embossing our menu, was a nice touch and "Inn at Little Washington"-esque for DC. Fantastic for an anniversary or other romantic event in the city.

Great wine list! The first wine I order was not available, second choice was available. Nevertheless an impressive and well priced list.

Had the Virginia quail appetizer, prepared beautifully and was delicious. For the main we both had the Dover Sole, nicely prepared, but we have certainly had comparable or better. The sides served were ok.

Desert was very good.

All in all we expected more from a Michelin starred restaurant. So a bit disappointed.

This was our first time dining at the Plume. When I made the reservation I didn't see that they had just earned their first Michelin star. Now, we have dined at a restaurant that has three Michelin stars & I must say that I have no idea why Plume only has one. We did the tasting menu with the classic wine pairing. The food was exquisite. The duck brought tears to my eyes. The bison was just phenomenal. The wines paired with each dish were perfect. Our server & wine server were excellent & personable. We have now found our special occasion restaurant.

We celebrated our anniversary on New Years Eve with the special price fixed menu. Everything was delicious and the service superb. It is very hard to justify the price, though. Early seating dinner for two with two drinks each and tip was a little more than $600. The only meal we have eaten that was more expensive was at the Inn at Little Washington, and it wasn’t much more expensive than Plume. The price will probably keep us from returning.

We were guests of the hotel and have dined at Plume 4 other times. This experience was much different. Because of where we were seated, it was a constant flow of people going through the door to the bathroom and the wait staff running in and out of the kitchen with their large trays of food ...that was our view, those were our sounds. We had the same waiter as we had a year ago and our experience with him was the same...disappointing.
The food was, as it has always been, amazing. They could do a better job at blocking off the area to the kitchen as no diner should have to spend what should be a special evening , wishing to experience Plume the way it’s meant to be, wishing they were seated somewhere else.
Very sad for us. No one seemed to think there was any sense of urgency to make our evening one to remember

The worst experience ever. Even though I had a reservation was seated 45 minutes late. Got seated at the worst table in restaurant by the food service corridor. Later in the meal the waiter placed a knife in the table. It stuck the table because it had food in the back side of the knife. After I got home I noticed my velvet jacket was covered in food on the back because I was seated with my back to the food service area the bus boys and food service were spilling food all over it. This place is the worst. Don’t waste your money
