Plume was everything you’d expect from a 5 star restaurant! My husband and I, instead of buying gifts, go to a fine dining restaurant for our anniversary and try to go to a different one each year. We were absolutely blown away by Plume both in good quality and ambiance. It was incredibly romantic, and we felt like royalty for our entire 7 course tasting meal. The wind was superb and I had the most amazing chestnut potage!! Don’t skip over their vegetarian options - they stole the show!
I'm disappointed to write this review because I wanted to enjoy Plume. We left upset disappointed, however. The ambiance was lovely and the Somm was great. The service and food, not so much. It all felt so very rushed. As soon as we ordered they brought out the first course. When that was done, the second came out seconds later. It was the speed I expect at a local diner not a fine restaurant. The dessert came out seconds after they cleared the main course. Our glasses were empty but we had not yet seen the wine list much less ordered a pairing. We looked around frantically for a server before our desserts melted.
Secondly, my date ordered the foie gras. While a beautiful presentation, It was cold, fell over when touched, and attempts to spread it on the brioche left mutilated bread in its wake. I asked the server if it was supposed to be cold. "No, it should be cool." "Well this is cold." "Oh, ok, it should be cold. It was in the fridge." He didn't seem to notice that it was mutilated and half eaten on my date's plate. She is always embarrassed to send food back so she said it was fine, but they clearly should have recognized that there was a problem and should have asked.
The one time I did not feel rushed was when we asked for the bill. We waiting about 5 or 10 minutes for it.
Lastly, we were there for her birthday. I specified that in the original request and again when they called the day prior to confirm the reservation. "Wonderful, we will do something special for her." Nope. Never mentioned it. No writing on the plate, no extra dessert, no complimentary glass of vino. Nada. When we left she asked me if I had told the restaurant...
I expected a lot from more a Michelin star.
Plume is the ultimate special occasion restaurant. All tables are large so you never need to move stuff around. High ceilings.
Price fix menu at $102 per person offered an appetizer, main course and desert. They also bring on some extra tasting samples through the meal.
Wine selection is vast and house wines if you are doing per glass were outstanding and, of course, you get to taste before the full pour.
Only ding, the restrooms are downstairs but there is an elevator.
Really enjoyed our dinner but felt slightly rushed to finish the wine pairing between courses. It was a random Thursday night with a slightly empty dining room, so perhaps the serving staff was underutilized and overly eager. Overall, a very pleasant experience for two vegetarians celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.
Incredibly underwhelming. We've been to multiple one-Michelin-star restaurants and this was very disappointing. We had the tasting menu, and it was not at all special. Certainly not worth the price. The best dish was the smoked beef, which was very good, but the dessert was shameful. A dry cake with cheap-tasting chocolate mousse.

On the food - bread was microwaved, gougeres served were cold, all the dishes were bland and tasteless except the beef and the dessert
Wine list is massively marked up and wine staff do not really know the list - Avoid, especially given the cost
We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Plume and they made it such a memorable night. From the personalized menu and desserts and the great service by Christian.y husband is allergic to mushrooms and seafood, two very hard allergies to accommodate but they made it worked and everything tasted delicious.
My husband and I both thought we were on one of those TV shows were people get pranked. The food and service did not match a typical Michelin star restaurant. Service took two and a half hours and the bread and dessert were the only highlights. I chose an oxtail soup as my appetizer which cooked at the table. However, the flame kept going out and the server couldn't tell when it was finished. He just asked if I thought it was done. It was gross. When were initially greeted the different tasting menus were not explained to us. The somm did not come by to help with our wine selection. My husband is a vegetarian and wasn't able to find many options on the menu. My salmon was cooked in beeswax. It was underwhelming at best. No sides came with it. This was definitely the worst Michelin star restaurant we have been to and we regret not reading the other reviews that mimic our experience before going. Go to the Dabney or Roses Luxury. Both are cheaper, better food, and service. We ended the night at the Quill which lovely and has a great pianist.
We went to Plume to celebrate a special event together as a family. It was one of the most exceptional meals that I have ever experienced. The service was wonderful and the fresh flower arrangements were stunning. The cuisine itself was creative, exquisitely presented and perfectly portioned. For anyone who'd like to eat an excellent meal that transcends the traditional, Plume is for you.
We went to plume for a special occasion. Our expectations were high as the restaurant was Michellin rated. The service and the ambiance was excellent. We did an 8 course tasting menu for dinner. Only two courses were sensational everything else was just ok. The presentation for the food was better than the actual taste. We did order oysters as well, which were suboptimal. The oysters looked like they were open way ahead of time and we're really dry. Would expect better oysters for a place of that caliber.
Thoroughly pampered from the warm and gracious greeting of the exterior doorman to the smiling welcome from the interior doorman to the hospitable greeting of the host (Edgar) to the patient and informative descriptions of the menu items from the table captain (Paul) to the waiter who was always meeting our needs to the excellent foods that ranged from vegetarian to seafood to hearty meat dishes and the most excellent everything chocolate dessert. Go. Be pampered and have the meal of a lifetime.
