Rather surprised that there was no one at the hostess/ maitre de stand for over 5 minutes when we arrived...table was not great - up against a pole with a view
of door to kitchen . Food was ok but not Michelin star worthy...many other better places to eat in DC. Waiter Freddy was great!
Impeccable service and absolutely delicious food.
The Plume was everything I hoped it would be. Gracious and yet American, (we missed the "jackets preferred" for my son and it was ignored except for our placement). Adventurous wine list I am glad I looked over before coming. It's affordable if you know where to look. And a waiter and sommelier who was both knowledgable and had a sense of humor. The food was fun, no other way to describe it. Beautiful without being precious. I could have eaten a vat of the beet panna cotta with salted pistachios (?) but it was an amuse bouche. The fois gras which I ONLY order as the rarest indulgence was worth the guilt. It was better than the Savoy Grill, which was the LAST time I ordered it. The duck breast was perfection. That's all. And the dessert called a candy bar, was maybe the best thing EVER. And totally unexpected by the description. I cannot emphasize that too highly. A multi layered sensual treat I will not soon forget.
From arrival to departure, our anniversary experience at Plume was outstanding. The restaurant deserves it Michelin star. Cost is very high, but the once a year experience is quite special.
The service was excellent. Our waiter, William was so personable and gave wonderful advice on ordering. He also gave us great tips for other places to eat while we were in DC.
Excellent service but the food was not what one expects at a Michelin starred restaurant. It was fine, nothing to write home about and not worth a return visit.
My entree was good but the appetizer and dessert were “overdone” - trying to put too many different ingredients together (e.g. my cocoa infused foie gras was not a home run...)
Very good food and amazing service- great experience
We had a memorable experience, enjoying the eye-catching presentations, unique flavor combinations, thoughtful service (including the spot-on advice of the sommelier), and quiet atmosphere, so conducive to engaging conversation.
The Plume is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Washington area and the was excellent.
A wonderful experience with delightful food and excellent service. All 3 courses were well presented and very tasty, and there were a number of additional surprises. Would highly recommend
Our dinner at Plume was amazing! Each dish was very creative and beautiful on top of being delicious. The service was impeccable. While certainly not inexpensive, this is the place for a great experience!
Everything was amazing! Christian was very knowledgeable, informative and nice!
Great meal. Service was excellent. Would go back again.
Amazing in every way!
The setting and service are excellent. But there is a very serious problem: the dishes are complex and beautifully presented, but they are tasteless. My wife had the prix-fixe and I the tasting menu. Except for her filet mignon, which was a good cut of meat, nothing matched its appearance, and that pertains to many courses. This is a typical Michelin (one star) weakness: judging by complexity and appearance rather than taste.
The restaurant is incredible. Atmosphere was great and service was exceptional. The food was to die for. Went for a special occasion and both people loved it.
It was an awesome experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone and we can’t wait to go back again!
A well deserved Michelin star. Food was absolutely outstanding and service very professional.
Excellent food and wine, attentive service without being intrusive, quiet and attractive all which led to a very pleasant experience. The meal was pricey, but we got what we paid for.
Many thanks to the staff at the Jefferson Hotel as well as the outstanding staff at the Plume! My wife & I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary celebration with you all, probably the best dinner we've enjoyed in DC in quite a while. Thanks to our superb server, Christian, and equal accolades to the chef and his staff, the food and presentation was to die for. Thank you for a most wonderful evening! Sincerely, Scott & Nancy Hill
Meal and service was impeccable.
It's a favorite place for my girlfriend and I to go.
Defied our high expectations. Would definitely recommend!
Despite some of the dishes on the tasting menu not being very tasty (Dover sole was mediocre, kolhrabi salad fairly tasteless, amuse bouche not good), we had a wonderful time. The ambiance is wonderful; the service was absolutely impeccable and the wine was excellent.
They didn’t let us sit in the dining room and we ate at the bar instead 👎🏼 wasn’t allowed tasting menu still had great food butttt
Fine dining with excellent wine pairings, $$$$ with a gorgeous setting.
I was looking forward to a wonderful dining experience only to be disappointed. The service was lackluster and my food allergy was initially overlooked when they presented the table with breads and butters. (The food allergy was noted at the time of the reservation and confirmed by the hostess before our arrival.) I feel that the caliber of service and food did not match the expectations for a highly rated restaurant.
Lovely evening. Made special with anniversary recognition on menu and dessert plate. Thoughtful service from start to finish.
Truly enjoyed the tasting menu and the wonderful atmosphere. It was a great way to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday - very romantic, great staff, and excellent food. Highly recommend Plume
Ended our DC trip with this gem located in the Jefferson hotel. Everything was superb. Ambiance... Service and food were all too notch. Paul was very knowledgeable and accommodating and didn’t make us feel rushed in the slightest. Thank you to everyone at Plume for making our meal a special one!
Excellent in all aspects
For those readers who understand what one is permitted to expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant, PLUME more-than-fulfills all those expectations. First, service that demonstrates sincere interest in the comfort of the patron, and a commitment to making certain that the entire dining experience has given the patron great pleasure - memorable enjoyment. Second, a chef and kitchen that is proud to give the patron an opportunity to taste foods that, while well-known to the diner, have still been prepared in a unique fashion; and third, to bring to the table foods that are rarely on typical menus. PLUME is a credit to The Jefferson Hotel, and to culinary sophistication of Washington, DC.
And may I make specific mention of Sean Mulligan, the manager at PLUME, who watched over every aspect of our dinner, and was clearly proud of PLUME's reputation for the finest in dining
We enjoyed the relaxed, unpretentious hospitality. The food was prepared and presented with immaculate attention to taste on every sensory level, but unlike most Michelin starred restaurants which tease you with tiny delicious bites, the portions were generous and satisfying!
Best restaurant ever!
Reserve the Plume for a special occasion where price is not a consideration. Excellent professional service. Quiet and great for important discussions. Very creative sides for well done main dishes. What you can expect from a 1 Star Chef. A rare treat in DC.
It was for my best friend’s birthday. The food is excellent and the service is very sweet. But the noise level is a little bit higher than I thought.
We both tried the tasting menu, with a focus on the proteins - soft shell crab, mediterranean stone bass, poussin, and lamb rump - and drank wines from the by-the-glass list. With one exception, the food was outstanding, both the tasting menu items and the amuse bouche. Lovely restaurant, classic presentation and atmosphere, but interesting and modern presentation of exceptional dishes. The exception was that my wife found her lamb rump a little tough and gristly which was an unexpected disappointment.
Food ++++++, service normal, but our table was not in the main dinning room and we were able to enjoy the atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic service, great meal.
