Amazing in every way!
The setting and service are excellent. But there is a very serious problem: the dishes are complex and beautifully presented, but they are tasteless. My wife had the prix-fixe and I the tasting menu. Except for her filet mignon, which was a good cut of meat, nothing matched its appearance, and that pertains to many courses. This is a typical Michelin (one star) weakness: judging by complexity and appearance rather than taste.
The restaurant is incredible. Atmosphere was great and service was exceptional. The food was to die for. Went for a special occasion and both people loved it.
It was an awesome experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone and we can’t wait to go back again!
A well deserved Michelin star. Food was absolutely outstanding and service very professional.
Excellent food and wine, attentive service without being intrusive, quiet and attractive all which led to a very pleasant experience. The meal was pricey, but we got what we paid for.
Many thanks to the staff at the Jefferson Hotel as well as the outstanding staff at the Plume! My wife & I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary celebration with you all, probably the best dinner we've enjoyed in DC in quite a while. Thanks to our superb server, Christian, and equal accolades to the chef and his staff, the food and presentation was to die for. Thank you for a most wonderful evening! Sincerely, Scott & Nancy Hill
Meal and service was impeccable.
It's a favorite place for my girlfriend and I to go.
Defied our high expectations. Would definitely recommend!
Despite some of the dishes on the tasting menu not being very tasty (Dover sole was mediocre, kolhrabi salad fairly tasteless, amuse bouche not good), we had a wonderful time. The ambiance is wonderful; the service was absolutely impeccable and the wine was excellent.
They didn’t let us sit in the dining room and we ate at the bar instead 👎🏼 wasn’t allowed tasting menu still had great food butttt
Fine dining with excellent wine pairings, $$$$ with a gorgeous setting.
I was looking forward to a wonderful dining experience only to be disappointed. The service was lackluster and my food allergy was initially overlooked when they presented the table with breads and butters. (The food allergy was noted at the time of the reservation and confirmed by the hostess before our arrival.) I feel that the caliber of service and food did not match the expectations for a highly rated restaurant.
Lovely evening. Made special with anniversary recognition on menu and dessert plate. Thoughtful service from start to finish.
Truly enjoyed the tasting menu and the wonderful atmosphere. It was a great way to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday - very romantic, great staff, and excellent food. Highly recommend Plume
Ended our DC trip with this gem located in the Jefferson hotel. Everything was superb. Ambiance... Service and food were all too notch. Paul was very knowledgeable and accommodating and didn’t make us feel rushed in the slightest. Thank you to everyone at Plume for making our meal a special one!
Excellent in all aspects
For those readers who understand what one is permitted to expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant, PLUME more-than-fulfills all those expectations. First, service that demonstrates sincere interest in the comfort of the patron, and a commitment to making certain that the entire dining experience has given the patron great pleasure - memorable enjoyment. Second, a chef and kitchen that is proud to give the patron an opportunity to taste foods that, while well-known to the diner, have still been prepared in a unique fashion; and third, to bring to the table foods that are rarely on typical menus. PLUME is a credit to The Jefferson Hotel, and to culinary sophistication of Washington, DC.
And may I make specific mention of Sean Mulligan, the manager at PLUME, who watched over every aspect of our dinner, and was clearly proud of PLUME's reputation for the finest in dining
We enjoyed the relaxed, unpretentious hospitality. The food was prepared and presented with immaculate attention to taste on every sensory level, but unlike most Michelin starred restaurants which tease you with tiny delicious bites, the portions were generous and satisfying!
Best restaurant ever!
Reserve the Plume for a special occasion where price is not a consideration. Excellent professional service. Quiet and great for important discussions. Very creative sides for well done main dishes. What you can expect from a 1 Star Chef. A rare treat in DC.
It was for my best friend’s birthday. The food is excellent and the service is very sweet. But the noise level is a little bit higher than I thought.
We both tried the tasting menu, with a focus on the proteins - soft shell crab, mediterranean stone bass, poussin, and lamb rump - and drank wines from the by-the-glass list. With one exception, the food was outstanding, both the tasting menu items and the amuse bouche. Lovely restaurant, classic presentation and atmosphere, but interesting and modern presentation of exceptional dishes. The exception was that my wife found her lamb rump a little tough and gristly which was an unexpected disappointment.
Food ++++++, service normal, but our table was not in the main dinning room and we were able to enjoy the atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic service, great meal.
Great food, great service!
Everything was wonderful from the moment we came in the front door. The three course price fix was really six for us if you count the small plates and “pre-dessert”. The puzzled beet salad for my dining partner both looked and tasted great. My venison was cooked to perfection as was my dining partner’s fillet. Her medium was beautifully pink, with no red. I found a new personal best dessert in the exotic chocolate bar. The slightly tart fruit flavors perfectly balance the sweetness. It was bursting with flavor.
The is the kind of place everyone brags about going to - and it's easy to see why. The service was spectacular, the wine list exciting, and ambience lush and expensive. Unfortunately, the food did not match the other aspects of the restaurant. It was all good, but not great. Salt, acid, and texture were lacking in almost every course.
It was a special date for my wife and I and we are happy we made the decision to dine at Plume.
One of the finest restaurants in DC - if not the finest! Service is impeccable; menu selection interesting; and the presentation of the food is exquisite...then there is the taste, which is superb. Our go-to restaurant for special occasions. ...and a special compliment to the valet service -- always courteous and prompt.
Fantastic experience. Everything from food to wine to arrive to atmosphere was just perfect.
The meal was expensive but worth it for a special occasions. The food was absolutely delicious. We ended up spending about $300 (with tip) on two meals and my husband got a drink. They bring hearty servings of everything which is amazing. At some restaurants they bring out those tiny servings so after dropping serious cash you still have to stop by Whole Foods on the way home and get a little snack. That was not the case for this meal. SO. GOOD. I also wore a plain, but nice black work dress and flats and my husband wore nice pants and a button down with a jacket and our attire was perfect.
My expectations were much higher about this place because it wasn’t my first time there. Food was just OK, nothing fabulous, my fish was burned. We spent more than $400 and for this amount we didn’t get a great experience.
felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food.
Amazing experience overall. Food was delicious, service was impeccable, and ambiance was quite classy. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for special occasions.
Disjointed service. Wait Staff too many doing too little. Sommelier was only bright spot of service. Food was forgettable.
we were seated at Table 71 in small room. Ambience beautiful. Wait staff fantastic!!!!!! We have also told others to come there. We are here on vacation from Minnesota where we have experienced great dining, but this was better!
The Plume is the best dining experience in DC. It is as close as you can get to being at a great restaurant in Paris without the airfare.
Always an enjoyable dining experience. Superb food, service and ambience. Priced appropriately for the product delivered.
The food was amazing. I had the tasting menu and it was like a little adventure for my mouth. The portions were small obviously but getting full off of one thing isn't really the point. Go to Plume if you want to broaden your culinary horizons. It's a great place to take a date because the food becomes a topic of conversation. I prefer to not look at the menu too much. I enjoyed being surprised. The imaginative plating and unfamiliar tastes that came out one after the other for what seemed like hours was delightful. Definitely the best dining experience I've had to date!! 10 Stars!!!
