Another outstanding meal at Plume. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. We enjoyed the langoustine and pheasant dishes most. The wines were very interested and paired extremely well with each course.
Right from the maître d' the Plume journey was memorable. The wine sommelier exudes knowledge with a touch of humor. The staff is polite, knowledgeable and friendly. My wife really enjoyed the little stool for her purse beside her seating. The appetizers and entrees were delicious. Needless to say, we loved Plume and highly recommend it to those looking for a discerning experience.
Great food. Great service. Great Experience. Met expectations.
The ambiance and service were incredible! This is a great restaurant for a quiet meal with attentive, warm and welcoming service. The food, while terrific, was not quite up to par with what I expected of a Michelin restaurant; however, was still an incredible meal.
The pacing of the meal was absolutely dreadful. When the bread server comes over repeatedly, I knew something was amiss. A 35-minute wait for a glass of wine, 60-minute wait before first amuse bouche, 90 or so minute wait before 1st course. A waiting nightmare; thank goodness I liked the person I was with and we had a lot to catch up on. Would not return to a restaurant that isn't able to pace courses properly or even recognize that the pacing is off.
Enjoyed the 5 course tasting option. All the food was well prepared and delicious. Service was awesome as well. Will return and would recommend to others for a great meal and or special occasion.
Excellent and unique food. The ambience and service were excellent! Very elegant and tasteful.
Great meal, excellent service and wonderful wine list with some well priced gems!
The restaurant’s Decor is very elegant and beautiful. From the time we entered and the hostess greeted us till we left with our souvenir chocolates, the service was amazing and seamless. We opted for the Tasting Menu with the wine pairing, and were not disappointed. Every course was creative and delicious and the wine pairings were perfect. The sommelier poured every wine with every course and let us know the region the vineyard history and what taste to expect on our palette. Our waiter was so attentive..yet seamlessly without being intrusive. He was knowledgeable and explained every course and followed up on each one to receive our feedback on the taste. It was my birthday 🎂 and they remebered with a candle and a very subtle, quiet and elegant happy birthday wish. Which I appreciated. It was a lovely evening and one of our top dining experiences!
My husband and I went to Plume for our anniversary dinner and left pretty disappointed. Despite being a huge foodie, I wish I would have done more due diligence. We got the 5-course tasting menu with the wine pairing which came out to about $620 (before tip). The service was really good but the food fell flat in every course - there wasn't a single dish that we finished and nothing that had us wanting more. For this price point I was expecting to be blown away. We would have been better off going to Pineapples and Pearls, Komi or even The Inn at Little Washington.
If you're going for the experience of being in The Jefferson than go for it but if you're looking for an amazing/special meal then I wouldn't bother. I'd return for coffee or breakfast.
Excellent service and food. Great wine list.
We had an amazing experience and highly recommend The Plume for a special occasion. We chose the five course tasting menu with wine pairing and it was quite enjoyable. Extremely impressed with the Sommelier, he choose some very unique and interesting wines that really complimented the entire experience. The service was excellent, however, the only area of improvement would be for the waiter to take a moment to introduce himself and personalize the experience; he was all business. Nonetheless, very happy with our dinning experience!
Beautiful setting with a very attentive staff. The food was very good, but at their prices, I'm inclined to limit visits to only very special occasions.
Plume at the Jefferson Hotel was a phenomenal experience for a special occasion. The service was fantastic, every option on the prix fixe menu looked great, and the dishes we ordered (scallops and truffle risotto for the appetizers, lobster and filet for the main course) lived up to expectations. The meal was very expensive, but that's to be expected at a place like this. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Phenomenal job with vegetarian dishes. I encourage the creativity with flavors.
The meat dishes fell a tad short of expectations
Nice setting, more on the traditional side. Gourmet food, French influence, quite refined but not really at the Level of the star the Michlin has awarded.
To sum it up in a word. Outstanding
Definitely will dine there again
First time in DC my boyfriend and I wanted to try a Michelin restaurant and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend Plume. We had a great dinner Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond!
Appetizers and desserts were outstanding. Cocktails were prepared table side which was pretty cool. For our entrees my girlfriend had the veal chop and I had the Alaskan Halibut. While the textures were great, somehow they were both extremely salty. When I talk about salty, it’s like every bite had to be followed by a sip of water SALTY! Service was really great. Overall I don’t think Plume deserves the Michelin Star. Disappointed.
Wonderful experience. Service and food were superb. A wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary.
Dining at the Plume was everything it was supposed to be - wonderful service, innovative excellent food preparation, and quality Champagne and wine.
My husband and I were very excited to try Plume on our trip to DC (we live in NYC). We had read great reviews, especially because it is a Michelin rated restaurant. However, from the beginning of our experience, our excitement quickly diminished. To start, the waiter kept forgetting what was on the menu, the staff was not attentive as you would find in fine dining restaurants (we had to ask for silverware) and the food was not impressive (the crab salad was fishy and there was nothing exciting that we tasted). We were honestly shocked that this restaurant received a Michelin star. We get better food at the restaurant down the street from our apartment in NYC than what we had at Plume. This was a $400 meal that we wished we had spent elsewhere...SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere else as you will be very disappointed!
Phenomenal meal. Highlights were the truffle risotto and crab linguine.
The evening was perfect. Our tsble was in a quiet area and the service (waiter: Freddie) was excellent.
The food was superb. For the entree we had the lobster dish and the veal chop. Both were well prepared.
The evening could not have been better.
All dining should be like this: great food, great service. great ambiance........unfortunately, it is not!
Service was great, but I expected the food to be a bit better. Needed more seasoning.
Definitely not Michelin 1 star.
Overall it was a good experience. The only mishaps were the wait times on food. Nearly 2hrs and a half for the three course meal. And the dessert my partner was served was the wrong one only to find out after that the dessert he requested was not available instead of being told at the beginning.
This restaurant is in the Jefferson Hotel and is absolutely beautiful, although, in my opinion, too small for French Traditional Service. It seemed like the staff were bumping into each other, just because there were so many of them per table. However, they all did a wonderful job assuring we had a pleasant evening. The Maitre d originally wanted to sit us in the back by a waiters service station. When I told him, that wouldn’t do, he was more than accommodating and gave us another table.
That evening we got to pick from a prix fixe or a chefs tasting menu.
The food tasted as incredible as its presentation.
The would recommend to anyone. However, note: it is expensive and is formal dining with multiple courses If that is not an issue, Plume is a great place for a special occasions, or just to treat yourself.
Everything was nice, except the pricing, its over priced.
Hostess was pleasant but wait staff overall were not up to standard. Meat on multiple dishes was overcooked.
Amazing service. Subtle plays at texture and flavor. Well paced meal. Very good value on the food side. Amazing wine list.
Service and dining experience is fabulous for a special occasion.
Just an outstanding experience!!
Excellent service , excellent food. My wife and I had a wonderful experience at The Plume whilst on holiday in DC. Duck in particular was very tasty and the chocolate bar dessert was inventive and tasted great. We had the fixed price menu and a bottle of wine which came with a pre desert and amuse bouche. Overall we spent $380 which considering the quality of the experience was not over priced
Lovely service, beautiful setting, food was gorgeous. A special night.
Exceptional in every way - one of the best meals I have ever had!
For the price you’re paying, it was disappointing - both food and service. Go to Komi, Pineapples and Pearl, and minibar instead.
It was wonderful
Took them 2 tries to get the steak right. And they still messed it up
