Solid mid-price point restaurant with creative Pan-Asian options. Service could be more attentive.
My husband likes Sushi, I like curries . this place has both in a charming, airy clean space. We go very often. Cocktails and Scotches are available which is unusual in may Asian restaurants. The servers are very pleasant and the bathrooms are clean
As usual, Plum delivered. We had our (almost) annual May/Mother's Day/birthdays get-together and the server remembered us from last year. She even remembered what sparkling we had and offered it to us. We were also happy that the management was able to put us in "our usual" table right in the front of the dining room. The food was great and the drinks were flowing. Thanks again!
Staying in Pittsburgh for business in the Shadyside neighborhood and decided to try this Asian restaurant for launch. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice for lunch. They also have a parking lot dedicated to the stores including this restaurant. The lunch meal came with an appetizer and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot and sour soup which had a nice kick to it. Also the green curry with eggplant and shrimp was fantastic! Very nice service as well!
The food at Plum Pan Asian Kitchen was great, but it took several times before we got the server to bring one person's Jasmine tea to the table. Curiously, they charged my credit card for about a third of what the meal cost on the bill, but the server immediately corrected this error. All in all, a lovely night at a great restaurant. Try the steamed vegetable dumplings!
First time at Plum Pan and it was outstanding. Food and service were both excellent. So glad we found this place and will definitely be back.
As always, Plum did not disappoint. Great food, service was quick and amazing, and the the noise level was not too much.
Enjoyed the excellent food and the presentation and the service.
We enjoyed another fine meal at Plum. Our Chicago guest was very pleased with the food and service.
Food just not that good
This restaurant is a beautiful space with amazing cuisine.
If back in Pittsburgh, we will go again
Expensive for general Asian cuisine. Fun drink menu. Nice space. Many round tables which accommodate slightly larger groups of 5 to 6.
Service was extremely slow. Food was bland. "Sichuan" spice was laughable. Used to have excellent sushi presentation but was nothing remarkable this time. Would not recommend anymore.
The food was really good but I found the service to be pretty poor. Every part of the meal took incredibly long to come. Even ordering a coffee took 15 minutes. We arrived at 630pm and were there until 8 for dinner which seems insane. The check was also rung up wrong which was incredibly frustrating. The food is good here, so I would recommend it, but it is not a place I would come often.
Great spot for Valentine’s day! Excellent food and not overly crowded.
Good food. Good service. And you can hear your table's conversation.
I've been going to Plum for a few years. The food, drinks and service are consistently top notch.
We go there manny times.. this visit was lunch. Nice looking place with good (but to fast) service. Very pan Asian menu. Excellent fresh Japanese fare-open in the restaurant, Chinese, both sweet and spicy, Thia and some Indian food.. underground free parking especially nice in winter months. Location central to exciting gentrified neighborhood. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Have been wanting to try Plum for some time so made a reservation and went with some friends. The people and our waitress were great from the beginning . We started out with a shared plate of sushi which was excellent and a good portion as well. Our main courses were enjoyed by all as they were very tasty and the spice level was perfect on those dishes. We ordered desert which was very creative and very good. The people were very friendly as we talked to them after dinnner about some of the spices and peppers. Will for sure return as will our friends.
Plum Pan Asian Kitchen is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys sushi and/or Asian food. The atmosphere is spot on which makes it great for a date or group gathering. The cocktails are on point and the beer list although limited offers a variety in styles. I have never had a negative experience at Plum Pan Asian Kitchen and will continue to visit for the fantastic service, great food, and elevated atmosphere.
The food is always exceptional and the service is great. One of my favorite pan Asian restaurant in PGH.
Dined here on Christmas day. it was not busy and the service was very good. Apps, mains, etc all were great. I've dined here before and recommend it.
Good food! Couldn't get the order right! We were not impressed with the communication between the wait staff and the kitchen...😞
We came for lunch at one, after the morning rush and when there was no water In the neighborhood because of an outside problem. We had attentive service; the food was very good, the sauce a little too sweet my shrimp were spectacular
My 1st visit and it was very enjoyable. Gabriel was our server and he was attentive and friendly.
Good food and nice space. Service is good. Prices are a little high.
Really nice restaurant. Good ambiance and excellent food. Service was great. Will definitely go again.
PLUM is consistently delicious anytime of the day. The staff is always welcoming to guests...the bar is also a great spot for after work, small, but interesting.
I’ve been dining here for 3 years. The food is always fresh, creative and fair portions. The menu offers diverse selections, plenty of gluten free and vegan options. The cocktails are sophisticated. Service is attentive. Peaceful atmosphere you can easily converse without annoying background noise. Consistent winner in my opinion.
I have never been disappointed. Truly, a gem in Pittsburgh.
Good food shared by good friends for a mid-day lunch. Taste excellent with attractive presentation. The service and friendliness was outstanding.
The food was, as always, mediocre. The general tso’s chicken has too much breading in it and the waiter did not know what a maki was. He asked me back if I am talking about either sushi or sashimi and I had to explain what a maki is.
There were 9 of us. They gave us the round table requested. Very nice & professional young handsome man was our server. Green beans are delicious. I had the lobster roll which was huge, and pretty good, though not remarkable. Husband had medley of vegetables with pork which he liked. Shrimp wonton soup was fair. Beautiful ambiance & easy parking.
I thought that Plum was an overall great restaurant! The prices were very fair and the quality of the food was exceptional. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was one of the best dishes I have eaten in quite some time. Beyond the food, the restaurant has a great ambiance as well. Can't say enough good things about it.
Plu, provides a superior environment for transition Asian and Japanese cuisine. It is my go to for this type of food.
The quality and standard of food is never compromised at PLUM.
Service is always attentive and outstanding.....
We brought an out-of-town guest and were not disappointed. Our meals were fabulous! We have never had a bad meal at Plum!
We went to Plum for pre-theater dinner. Service was warm, friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Food presentation and flavor were very good. Restaurant seems very clean and sleek. Dessert menu is minimal (as is the case, I have personally found, in most Asian food restaurants). Quantity of entree is okay... I would suggest ordering an appetizer to feel full. Loved the music..(Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, etc.) Loved the "volume" of the restaurant - we could talk and chat comfortably without straining to hear each other. We were not rushed to leave and would have stayed longer had we not had tickets to the theater. Loved the easy and free parking. All in all, a very nice experience in the heart of the "new" East Liberty - I think that this restaurant will have quite a successful run in this area.
