Plum Pan Asian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been dining here for 3 years. The food is always fresh, creative and fair portions. The menu offers diverse selections, plenty of gluten free and vegan options. The cocktails are sophisticated. Service is attentive. Peaceful atmosphere you can easily converse without annoying background noise. Consistent winner in my opinion.
There were 9 of us. They gave us the round table requested. Very nice & professional young handsome man was our server. Green beans are delicious. I had the lobster roll which was huge, and pretty good, though not remarkable. Husband had medley of vegetables with pork which he liked. Shrimp wonton soup was fair. Beautiful ambiance & easy parking.
I thought that Plum was an overall great restaurant! The prices were very fair and the quality of the food was exceptional. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was one of the best dishes I have eaten in quite some time. Beyond the food, the restaurant has a great ambiance as well. Can't say enough good things about it.
We went to Plum for pre-theater dinner. Service was warm, friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Food presentation and flavor were very good. Restaurant seems very clean and sleek. Dessert menu is minimal (as is the case, I have personally found, in most Asian food restaurants). Quantity of entree is okay... I would suggest ordering an appetizer to feel full. Loved the music..(Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, etc.) Loved the "volume" of the restaurant - we could talk and chat comfortably without straining to hear each other. We were not rushed to leave and would have stayed longer had we not had tickets to the theater. Loved the easy and free parking. All in all, a very nice experience in the heart of the "new" East Liberty - I think that this restaurant will have quite a successful run in this area.
Very nice restaurant. Quiet, comfortable. Good drinks, lots of choices. We had a party of 6 and good service, plus she was able to separate our checks. Service was great: we didn't feel rushed. The bills were accurate. Chairs are not for those with broad bottoms, but some of the tables have benches. Several of us order General Tso (comes with chicken or shrimp), and all thought it was tasty. Best egg rolls I've had in a long long time. Mustard was wonderfully spicy.
The food was lovely. All four in our party enjoyed their meal. When we sat down, I thought service would be very good. However, I was disappointed. The wait staff paid no attention to us. We had to ask for silverware and desert was served on a dirty table. Dinner dishes were not removed, We were at Plum on a Tuesday evening and it looked as if they were understaffed. The food was very good, and I'll go back with the hope that service improves.
We have never had a bad meal at Plum! Our server was attentive and patient while we waited for our fourth person to arrive. Our out-of-town guest loved his Bombay martini; wine by the glass was a better option for two of us ( nice choices on the list, too). The dinners are always beautifully plated. I am a fan of their Thai basil entree so our guest chose that as well. My husband went with the duck. No one was disappointed!
I was there as the guest of a friend to celebrate my birthday. We were each very pleased with the menu's choices for lunch. We shared a bit and each thoroughly enjoyed our meals. At noon it was quiet enough for real conversation. She had mentioned that it was for my birthday and they surprised us with a delightful, delicious, decorated dessert. What a lovely end to an otherwise great experience.
Very quick service and foods. We dined on
Orange Beef, Honey Chicken and pad ti with chicken. We enjoyed a sampling of authentic teas - white tea with ginger & pear, Green tea with mango flavors and Jasmine green tea.
The main courses were well sized for sharing.
The noise level was comfortable and adequate
parking is found in nearby lot. We look forward to returning again.
Our meals were excellent. We started with dumplings and hot and sour soup. Dee-lish! I had salmon curry--packed with veggies, cooked perfectly and a nice coconut curry sauce with just the right amount of heat. My companion had shrimp that she said was yummy.
Excellent service, too. We couldn't be happier.
Btw, Plum catered my entire Christmas dinner for 10. Totally AWESOME--sushi to die for. I'll have them do my next event!
The food and setting were really good. My husband and I were excited to try Plum. We made a reservation and the dining room wasn't too terribly busy, but very steady for it being a Saturday evening. The service was particularly lacking. We waited for a while to receive our drinks. While we thought the timing of the food presentation would be different, we weren't too bothered by it. We were annoyed when we were brought our sushi, but then had to go out of our way to flag someone down to get soy sauce. We never saw our waiter after ordering and sat with empty glasses for the last part of the meal. Normally I'm not picky about service because the food industry isn't easy to work in, but it just seemed particularly lacking.
While we made a reservation at the latest time at 10:30 pm, the lady at the front was hesitant to seat us and told us the kitchen closes soon. We told her we would be quick and were not pleased with her attitude. When we were seated, we ordered right away and our food came out in 10 minutes. Our waiter was excellent and didn't even rush us. The food was prepared very well and we were pleased with the pricing of the food. The sake mojito was absolutely excellent drink choice, too!
We were cold when we sat down and asked if they could turn up AC. They accommodated and said it was really hot in the back. We appreciated the sacrifice! Spicy tuna roll, ginger salad and Beef tendertoin with onion and peppers was really good. Overall we like this place.
