The service was extremely disappointing here. The waiting staff were verging on being rude. We were left for ages trying to make our order, and although we were there well before 11am, we did not get our order taken until after 11am therefore causing issues to order from the breakfast menu. We had people with dietary requirements who wanted to order from this menu.
The attitude from the waitress was shocking, and never came back to say that this was okay even though she made out that this was.
Shocking service overall, constantly ignored.
Food was okay - nothing special, considering the price.
Perfect place to catch up over brunch with friends
This restaurant could be great if the front of house was more professional (the waiting staff seemed obviously unhappy, and weren’t especially polite or coordinated), and if they turned the lights down a bit (was a at a cafeteria lux level). The food was fine. Lots of potential....
It was very relaxing, lovely ambience and the noise level was just right unlike many places where you literally have to shout across the table to be heard.
The wine was smooth and they weren't stingy with their measures and the food was good. I will be returning to try a cocktail next time!
We chose this restaurant to meet a friend for a very early diner as she was travelling back up North.
We read reviews in trip adviser, absolutely no regrets regarding choice of restaurant.
Staff were attentive without annoying you.
Food was great,
I would recommend eating here anytime.
Its easily accessible and welcoming hosts with a cozy and friendly bar. The dining room is elegant but very comfortable banquettes and tables at a nice distance and surprisingly low noise levels. Menu varied and staff willing and competent to check on allergens and hospitable. Asked how we wanted the courses to be delivered, even heated one up as I erroneously asked for 2 starters to come at the same time. The starters were much more generous proportions that anywhere I have dined lately. They were delicious, we had scallops, rabbit and cod each well cooked, elegantly plated and served timely. Very pleasant evening overall.
P+SM were exemplar in their handling of a myriad of food intolerances and requirements at our table, handling the constraints with humour and sensitivity. The kitchen- and wait-staff could not have been more supportive and made a difficult set-up into a truly lovely night out.
5 stars all around. Thank you!
Excellent food and good service in elegant surroundings, and convenient to get to
I greatly enjoyed my venison main. More so than did my partner her chicken dish. Delicious pudding.
Calm, elegant surroundings and food that was very well prepared and presented. Christos our waiter was attentive but discrete. A great night
Great food and service. It was my husband’s birthday and the waiter brought a decorated plate of delicious chocolate truffles complete with candle. A lovely impromptu surprise that made the visit really special.
Calm restaurant and delightful bar area. The food was delicious. The staff were a little bit slow to attend to us but the service improved as the meal progressed. The staff were charming and helpful. A good place to go for a special occasion.
I had a fantastic time, really good service, great food and nice atmosphere and decor.
Tucked rather unambiguisly in the Kings Cross area, this restaurant was top marks for service, ambience, quality of food, value for money ....it was simply the best choice of that evening!
Lovely venison and a good pear and almond tart. Decent wine choice and good service. Two annoyances, having to order sides at £5 a go and small main course portions - very 80s. Nice but overpriced.
Comment re drink options, no non alcoholic drink options, like non alcoholic beers, seedlip etc need to update that as that is v unusual these days.
Great service! We were able to pre order as we had a train to catch and the food came out very quickly and we delicious!
My Wife & I had a great meal , very good food & Service
Little Birthday treat & Card signed by restaurant staff at the end of the meal was a nice touch
We recommend and happy g again
The vegetarian option wasn't great. There were no vegeetarian sausages or hash browns or more a variety for vegetarians. Food was very dry. Was not worth £16 at all. Very disapppinted since the atmosphere is a lovely place.
Its a nice place and food is ok - the service however is terrible. Every person who works there has an attitude. I thought the food was for free until the bill came. London has alot of choice to go there.
Good brunch food, but very poor service - waiters and other staff seemed very busy but consistently ignored the customers and left us waiting to order and to get their attention. The setting is beautiful in the old railway hotel at Kings Cross. The prices are a little on the steep side.
Fantastic food, staff and ambiance. My 6th visit! I’ll be back
Great and convenient location. Stylish and good service.
Delicious food and tasty cocktails. The decor of the dining room is sophisticated and the views of the station below provide a contrast. Lights were a little too bright considering it was an evening visit.
I have to say I found the decor and food both of a very high standard so had no problem with that. However, the service was incredibly rude, I can’t remember being treated that way in years. There was a general unfriendliness from the entry staff to the table waitresses which I can handle, but when it came to payment the waitress was very abrupt, took payment for the meal on my card but then forgot to add the tip so then had to add that on as a separate payment (in hindsight I should have withheld the tip!). The card machine then refused to take payment and she then accused me that my card wasn’t working (even though she had used it literally 1 minute earlier..) - when we pointed this out she gave me an indignant look and repeated it wasn’t working and refused to accept it was the machine. It turned out that the card machine was faulty but we had no apology. Not great..
Food was outstanding- delicious flavours and premium presentation. Unfortunately the staff did dilute the premium experience a little bit. We didn't feel like we were "waited on" as we anticipated for a restaurant of this calibre and therefore resented paying the service charge.
5 of us for a brunch to see off our Son to university.
Long delay between ordering and getting our food and when it arrived it was lukewarm and in parts ( rather worryingly sausage ) was undercooked. When we complained the reason given was that the chef was busy ( restaurant was only half full ) To be fair they removed items from the bill but we would have preferred to pay full price and have hot cooked food.
Good service and nice food, although the steak could have been better
Such a lovely place! Great food and wine list. Excellent restaurant!
Absolutely LOVE coming here! I have a lot of allergies and they cater no problem to me. My friend from Switzerland loved it too! The food was impeccable, service fabulous, everything was done with style and class and fantastic value for money!
Plum + Spilt milk was a great last minute booking. Great menu and cocktail bar! Service was a bit sketchy, but overall very good.
Lovely place, waitress was funny and helpful we have lovely food, beautifully cooked and well presented we will definitely be going back
Fantastic atmosphere and attentive service, delicious menu and good portion sizes
Excellent food and service (but getting the bill was a slow process)
menu not as advertised on site. limited choice and poor service
The menu seems a bit stuck after several visits, but is always high quality food. Service and attentiveness is impeccable. Costs are high even for this quality and mark up on drinks a tad too high. But I will be going back again!
Good location and comfortable, nice decor and booths above King’s Cross Station - pleasant food (though small portions). Good place to come for a quick bite and chat.
I like this place for meetings when we need to talk. The environment is great and the staff are friendly and accommodating (this time we needed to swap tables because the sun was too strong, and they were fine about it). The food was good on the whole, but the starter didn’t quite work - coconut and pea hummus was inedibly soapy, but full marks for trying. It’s expensive, but you’re paying for the convenience of a good meeting place over lunch at Kings Cross station. I will definitely be back.
I went for a business breakfast. It took 50 minutes for our food to arrive, the excuse being that we had ordered boiled eggs. The other dishes were cold.
Normally the service is a lot better
Excellent food and service
Our waiter was very friendly and made us feel very welcome even though the restaurant was quite quiet and you can easily be forgotten when it’s like that.
Absolutely loved the plate of truffles for my friends birthday and would definitely return
Thank you an excellent experience
