   We love this place! It was my second time and my girlfriend's first. The salads were so fresh, just like the lettuce came from the garden. We shared the short ribs with kimchi and mushrooms and it was so delish! A palette of flavors that blended well and were complimented by a Mettler Lodi Cab. And the best part was dessert! Strawberry shortcake donuts! Still warm, with fresh whipped cream. Buzzling, loud, yet great energy and the staff is just phenomenal. Highly recommend this gem, and its sister restaurant, The Tripel.

   Unique menu, not a lot of options but the Crab Roll is worth the wait. Homemade ice cream didn't taste homemade but the fact that the server went out of his way to get my wife a bowl when the ice cream shop was closed goes to prove the wait staff will go the extra mile. Enjoyed the restaurant and can't wait to go back for Saturday Jazz Brunch.

   Playa Provisions website advertises "Dockside" as: "High-end dining space dedicated to seasonal seafood fare." The space was average, not high end dining, and the volume was so loud that talking with the two across the table was next to impossible. Food was good. Having watched Brooke twice on Top Chef, and winner, we expected more.

   Just terrific all around! Raw bar, cocktails, appetizers, seafood, braised meats, desert...everything was super delicious. Service perfect. Fun room. Outdoor patio is wonderful.

   Have been trying to eat at PP for a few years and finally got it scheduled. My 'top must get' - Crab Mac n Cheese!! Whoa. Best ever. Top leave item - Fish and Chips - ICK. The main meal items were a bit limited. If you like seafood/fish you're good to go here. If you only eat beef or chicken - nothing here for you. The Fish tacos are excellent! Didn't get a chance to try the bar items as I was driving, but the bar is fully stocked. The back room with it's Whiskey room is terrific looking and I'd enjoy coming back to try that out. Interesting layout as there's a ice cream/coffee bar in the front, Whiskey room in the rear and a nice looking patio with two firepits and lots of outside tables with glass walls. (no ceiling or roof). Be prepared to be very cold and they run out of blankets long before the restaurant fills up. I'm never cold and wore a long dress and heavy jacket and was really cold. Door to the patio was open and it was just too cold to enjoy myself or company. I'd return again for the brunch menu and because the owner won Top Chef recently. So I want to try again with different main course food option.

    I have been to Playa Provisions a number of times, mostly for happy hour or to grab a drink or ice cream during bike rides, but this was the first time I've been there for brunch. I wanted to love it, but didn't have the best experience. My party had a reservation for 4 at 1p on a Sunday and, while the party was seated right away, it took over 20 minutes for anyone to come over and take our drink order. A manager was walking through the room checking on how diners were enjoying their meals, saw us looking around for a waiter, and still never came by to ask if we'd been helped or sent anyone our way. It was so busy and loud in the room, it was hard to have a conversation at the table without yelling to be heard. In general the food was good (as a note there aren't many vegetarian options, but it was easy to adjust orders to be vegetarian-friendly) and came out pretty quickly. The bagel with beet-smoked lox was delicious and the waffle (on special) and breakfast sandwich were good too. The hashbrowns were not a favorite; the taste was fine but they were a weird consistency. Our server was nice and helpful when it came to questions on the menu, but either they were understaffed that morning or were just too busy to be proactive on checking on the table or anticipating our needs (we had to ask for water and coffee refills multiple times). Overall, it wasn't the best brunch experience and definitely wasn't conducive for a fun meal to catch up with friends. It's entirely possible it was an off-day for the restaurant, but I'm not sure the food was good enough to try the brunch experience again.
