Went for New Years
Food was good not exceptional
We were very disappointed with our dinner at Plates. The food lacked any flavor. I ordered the ricotta with truffled honey crostini and it was tasteless. The fried chicken and skirt steak were also average. The food was also served luke warm. We expected much more for the amount we spent. The restaurant also appeared dirty, menus had food and stains on them, crumbs all over the floor and seats. We won’t be returning.
Amazing service for my son’s birthday and very nice!!!!!!
We had the swordfish and scallop entrees, and the ground lamb, and apple salad, fresh oysters, and mushroom crostini for appetizers, plus one "larchmonster" for desert. All were excellent - interesting and tasty. Our only complaint was a full glass of red wine being poured for our young-looking 13 year old guest.
The food was superb. My friend had the duck comfit and I had the local bass (from the specials menu) and we both had the mushroom crostini from the specials. All were amazing. The service, though, was odd. It was much too hard to get our server's attention! When she was finally "captured," she was friendly and enthusiastic. But otherwise she was spending so much time at other tables, laughing and talking, that one could guess they were perhaps old friends of hers. But it was quite frustrating!
Neighborhood gem near Larchmont train station and on Wednesdays they allow free corkage.
Food is fine and fairly priced. Service is warm and welcoming.
All in all a delightful dining experience
Our food was amazing!!! Such a special "neighborhood" place to celebrate our daughter getting into college! Mini short rib tacos will make your heart stop, they're SO good, and the sea scallops will take your breath away. Amazing culinary cuisine!
The food was good but I was a bit disappointed. Preppies experiences have been excellent. Tonight my friends appetizer came out cold and soggy. Then my swordfish and risotto was cold as was my friends Reuben. And the servers auctioned off the food which is a big no no in my opinion. But once the food was served at the correct temp, it was all delicious.
Best fried chicken I’ve ever had
Varied menu with something for everyone served in a cozy country house setting. Our table had pasta, pizza and duck confit, all delicious.
