Went to Plates with my husband for an early Father’s Day dinner. Was surprised to find a very reduced menu compared with the menu available online. There were only about 10 shareable items and most of these were salads and cheese plates, which was disappointing. There were about 6 entree options that were quite expensive, and only 1 vegetarian option. This was disappointing as we had looked forward to the shared plates experience and the options, while very tasty (we had the crab cakes and cheese plate), were rather limited. I’m assuming this was because of the holiday (?). We ultimately decided to just have drinks and appetizers at Plates and went to another place for more savory small plates. Would love to go back as the food was great, but will probably call first to ask about regular vs limited menu!

Perfect evening to eat outside - soft-shell crab cake BLT was great! Having parking behind restaurant was nice too - good to know.

What an absolutely fantastic dinner for the four of us. Service was excellent and every bite of food was perfect. Started with two appetizers and both were delicious. Then had the filets for the men and the ladies had the flounder. Added on the crispy brussell sprouts for the table which were excellent. Finished with dessert that was just as good as the rest of the meal. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great dinner.

Fathers Day dinner. We certainly are missing the former chef as the menu is now too limited. We saw three couples leave who were also seated outside. It’s too bad the restaurant is going to loose customers. My husband judges beer for a Beer Magazine and is so very disappointed that Plates no longer carries Fullers.

Patrons seated/crowded a little too close together and wait time for food a little too long, possibly because of too small a kitchen. Otherwise this would have been a five star experience.

Lovely place to get a delicious meal. Great place to go if you have gluten allergies (celiac). The menu is clearly marked, and I felt great after eating my food. I visited the leggage for the first time as part of Resturaunt Week, and will absolutely be back! The grit fritters are incredible!!

Enjoyed brunch, loved some of the artwork found in the restaurant too (though way out of our budget, lol). Very friendly service and enjoyed our meals. I tried some hot tea which was nothing unique tasting but I still liked steeping it at the table and their generosity with the honey for my drink too. Would like to visit again!

I was surprised when one menu choice was not available and a sauce used on at least two items was also not available. With ssuch a boutique menu, things shouldn't be unavailable.

As always, my cocktail was so nice.

Wife, 3 kids and I went for Mother's day, with a specific menu for the day. This was our first time dining at Plates, location is good, inside is small so we sat on the outside patio. Ordered the chicken tamales for the kids as an appetizer and they loved them. Ordered my wife the crap and scallop croquettes for an appetizer and a pork belly slider. Croquettes were very good also, pork belly slider did not hit the same standard. For main meals we had a cauliflower steak with pea tendril , peppers and onions and added shrimp to the plate. Was very light, fresh and good. Also, ordered the fried chicken which was decent, there were some very hard tendons in just a few bites which was sloppy and off putting.
Cocktail was also very good - tequila drink with a jalapeno lollipop. Service was very attentive, host stand was a little disorganized for the few tables that had people at them.

An outstanding dining experience. The flank steak was surprisingly tender and the combination of flavors was great. The crab and scallop fritters were incredible. We also had the short ribs over smoked grits that was as good as I have had anywhere. The combination of incredible enters mixed with a comfortable low key atmosphere was truly enjoyable. And the service was as impeccable as the menu. We'll be back. Trulybwellnwortntje hour drive.

I went with my sister who was visiting from CA and whose husband is a trained chef. We both felt the food and drinks were top of the line and something unique that can’t be found at any other venue. Mentioned to friends and neighbors right away and just visited again to take others for a special occasion. Never disappointed and top quality again! My new go to spot for a relaxing and enjoyable experience all around.

Had friends visiting and we had limited time for brunch. I called around to a lot of places, the ones I wanted to go to didn’t take reservations and the ones that took reservations I didn’t want to go to.

Finally found Plates and the menu looked good. Made the reservations. Came in right at the reservation time. We were taken straight to our table. The waitress was incredibly friendly, without being overbearing.

Of the four of us, three of us got different plates. All of the food was amazing. I find the trendy places make trendy food that isn’t quite what I want. Plates seems to have locked in one trendiness with food you recognize that still is amazing.

We also got a couple of alcoholic beverages, which were very good.

Overall, service was amazing, ambiance was perfect, food was incredible and we can’t wait to go back!
