Fresh food that is well prepared, great service, fantastic wine list.
we sat at the outdoor bar, it was beautiful! it wasnt too crowded & our waitress was nice. the pink flower is such a good drink!!
Went for Sunday brunch. Authentic biscuits started us out, but next time we are getting the zucchini parmesan hush puppies. The craft cocktails make an excellent pairing with the meal. All the food was fresh and scrumptious. It was delivered fast and hot, but we were not rushed to leave. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Great food, ambience and friendly service. Chef made food.
Chris, the bar manager, makes the best cocktails! Great service and delicious food. We come here at least 2 a month!
Amazing as always. Love the food and the service.
A date night with my husband. I had heard good things about Plates, and it lived up to the praise.
Stephanie was the best and the food was superb
Waffles were nothing special for the price. My cheddar grits were cold. Service was not good. I had to go inside and ask for my change. Not what I thought it was going to be.
Plates is my go-to for a delicious meal that is better and more unique than what I would cook for myself. They do a great twist on southern and healthy staples and have lots of gluten free options. When they have it on the menu (which is always changing and kept fresh) the cheese plate for brunch, the pimento cheese fritters for lunch, and any fish dish for dinner come highly recommended. Was just here last night for Restaurant Week and had an amazing meal.
So lovely! Great food and service
Fabulous brunch!! The trout and salmon Benedicts were outstanding!
We took advantage of the Restaurant Week to get to know Plates. It was a great experience! Staff was very friendly and food was great! We will be back for sure!
The beef brisket was crazy good - brisket NEVER tastes as good as what they made, the bacon jam melt was terrific and the toffee pudding was out of this world
Delicious and varied menu. Great service. Highly recommend!
Was expecting a larger menu but what we had was great
Plates Kitchen never disappoints! The name makes it sound so casual but it is really fine dining. Delicious!
Delicious brunch and good value! We each had a mimosa and the bacon, egg, & cheese. Fast service, prompt staff, complimentary parking, and great patio area.
We always enjoy our experience here, I think they have one of the best brunch in town. Also, we needed some help with special diet and they accommodated with ease and helped us enjoying graduation celebration and celebrate with us.
The best of Raleigh! Craft cocktails and wonderful food!
We visited for date night during restaurant week and were super impressed. This was the first time we’d been to Plates for dinner and it was delicious! Will definitely be back.
We had another wonderful meal at Plates. Food was amazing (try the veggie feast, you won’t be disappointed! I added brisket). Sticky toffee pudding is the bomb! Service was great.
We visited during Restaurant Week. Great options were available. The lighting in the restaurant was dismal and we had a hard time reading the menus. The one Rose we ordered (available by the glass and bottle) was not availble.
As always, Plates hit it out of the park. Their ever-changing menu is always top notch and so tasty!
It was my first time here and it did not disappoint! Our server was amazing and she requested feedback on every meal. Her recommendations were on point we never missed anything on the table. The food was great and well balanced, even better than we expected. We did not know what to expect from the mushroom & spinach cakes but they are a must try. They have a smoky/salty flavor (almost like bacon). The chef have a background in pasta so make sure you have some pasta in one of your plates (it is made in house). The desserts were really good and the wine selection is pretty good. I will definitely come back!
Great local place. I went here for Restaurant Week. The food, wine and service was amazing. It is touch to park in that neighborhood but they offer free validated parking behind the building which made it super easy to get to. Nothing but great things to say about the place. Come and enjoy!
This is the best meal I’ve had in Raleigh. I moved here six years ago and there are some terrific restaurants. The quality of the ingredients, the unique recipes As well as the layering of flavors, texture and presentation of every dish was superb. This is amongst my most memorable meals on any continent.
Had an earlier dinner, outside table. Very nice, food was excellent, we enjoyed sitting outside, service was great. Recommend this place for foodie and great place to have small dishes and glass of wine.
Excellent food, excellent service. This was our first time at Plates. We will definitely be going back again!
Great food and wonderful urban vibe
Great experience! Good food, pleasant brunch, highly recommended.
Great Farm to Table dining. Awesome atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food and drinks.
This was my first visit to Plates. We checked in at the hostess stand and were seated right away. The server introduced herself quickly and brought water right away. We ordered mimosas, which were a steal at $3 each. We ordered the charcuterie board to start. It was good, however, I thought the choices could have been a little more unique. There was chorizo, prosciutto and one other meat. The cheeses were all mild in flavor, cheddar, and two other white cheeses. The bread was excellent and generous. I had the waffles for my meal and they were excellent. They came with a whipped mascarpone, maple syrup and mixed fruit. The waffles were so good, no syrup was needed. My daughters ordered the sweet potato hash bowl with pork and the apple and whipped chevre baguette. They were both pleased with their choices. The real star of the day was the sticky toffee pudding. The size was generous, We shared the dessert between the three of us. It was warm, buttery and absolutely delicious. I would absolutely visit Plates Kitchen to a friend.
The menu is inappropriate for the season—heavy, and full of carbs. Literally nearly all heavy options. With weather in the 80s and 90s, we need lighter fare—appropriate for summer. Also fans would be helpful for the outdoor seating areas.
Great atmosphere and food service is good can't wait to go back
Pork chop was the most perfect thing ever. Friendly staff.
This was my first visit to Plates and I was so delighted with the delicious food. I went with a group of friends and we ordered appetizers and desserts and every dish was a hit! I am excited to return in the future. Plates Kitchen is a gem!
Everything was amazing!!! And Chris is great at coming up with inventive and new drinks!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits, deviled eggs, and pimento hushpuppies with red pepper jelly - worth the 2.5 hour drive!
