Needed more servers. Especially if there are a lot of people order bottomless mimosas.
I usually don't like pre-mixed mimosas but there's are great! Service is also fantastic. I just wish they had some vegan options....
We decided to meet up with friends at this place so we made reservations.
The garlic french fries are always our favorites. The burgers are everyone's craze.
We did enjoy the experience and we will most certainly be back.
Plate 38 food is so good, I always forgive the slow service.
It's pricey, but great quality.
We've been going here since moving to Pasadena almost 3 years ago. The food, drinks and service are excellent. I've never had a bad dish. We decided to go on Valentine's Day, and had a terrific server, more fantastic food, great cocktails, delicious steak and great wine pairings. I can't say enough nice things about Plate 38.
Perfectly great tastes. Strong flavors. Great choices.
I was disappointed with OPEN TABLE and not the restaurant. On your site, you advertised a 4 course meal, when we walked into the restaurant they indicated that they were not serving what was being advertised. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Please ensure proper communication between your merchants is accurate and is as advertised.
Food was and is always great here
Service is outstanding
Atmosphere is awesome, casual! Food is high end quality with reasonable $$$
We loved going there on valentine's day and we had a special menu AND happy hour and the regular menu.. so many choices
We had a really superb meal. We started with the charred octopus and the beet salad. The beet salad was very good and the octopus was just heavenly! We shared the salmon for dinner and it was maybe the best salmon I’ve ever had. From the cut of salmon to the cooking and miso sauce it was just heavenly. And I almost always just fine salmon to be a reasonably healthy but not amazing choice. So we were very happy!
Oh wow, I had the chupe seafood stew. It has its origins in Peru, I think. The mussels were PERFECT! They had a taste of the open sea! No fishy funk! It was clean, sweet and amazing! The spicy shrimp broth it was served in was just as perfect. I hope to have this again SOON!
Great but rather expensive
Really enjoyed the food and the waitstaff was wonderful!
I love dining at Plate 38. Great happy hour menu and regular menu.
It was excellent food, service and ambiance. The only warning is that I asked for the hamburger with NO BUN, I told the server I can’t have wheat ... the bun came on the plate regardless. So if you’re celiac you probably need to over emphasise your needs.
This place never let's me down. I decided to have my birthday brunch here and I made a great choice. I did not have a problem with my reservation keeping it mind it was on a busy Sunday busy morning. They had my table ready prior to my arrival. They provided excellent customer service and the food was amazing. Clear to say I will keep coming to this place.
Although this is one of our go to places, especially on holidays, this past visit made me feel that they are slipping a bit. The food was still very good, but strangely, there were no seasonal (i.e. wintery) cocktails--something I believe they've had in the past, and the selections we tried were mediocre. Our waiter also seemed very inexperienced, making mistakes like sending our entrees out the second we finished our appetizers, even though we had expressly told him we wanted some time in between. He also failed to show us the wine bottle before opening and failed to offer a taste before simply pouring it. These are not huge mistakes at all, but when spending over $200 on a meal, I do tend to wish for overall excellence. The important thing, though, is that the food is still good with a diverse menu, so we will not be deterred from trying it again.
Special Christmas Eve menu offered good selections. I had prime rib, which was very good, and my dinner companion had quail, which she liked. Service was excellent--they were there when we needed them and they left us alone when we wanted to be left alone. Best of all, they did not hurry us when we wanted to linger over coffee and dessert. All in all, a good dining experience.
As always, the food was great! We love the chalkboard specials because there is always something super special and unique there. We even had some friends from Hollywood join us and they were equally impressed! Thanks Plate38! You are the best!
Good, interesting food. Cool restaurant and enjoyed the cocktails.
Great go to casual restaurant with a creative menu that is very well executed. Brunch, lunch or dinner - - its always excellent.
What a find! Had brunch here before the Doo Dah parade, and everything was delicious! Highly recommend, and you can make reservations too! I love that.
Nice, casual bar and grill atmosphere. Wholesome American fare, well-prepared and presented. Friendly service. Reasonable prices.
Was a little surprised on entering that greeter did not know of reservation. Asked if I had a reservation for the ten guests. I told him I did. Took a few for him to set up for us. I guess I had expected that the area and tables were ready when I arrived. All patrons did not come at the same time, so the waiter was kept busy. I was impressed that all were taken care of promptly. The food was as expected but the potato fries were exceptional. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Will come back again as it was a very enjoyable evening for Happy Hour.
Restaurant was empty and still had horrible service.
This is a cute place. Lots of high energy during brunch! We were seated promptly, and then forgotten about I believe. Not one person looked our way or even offered waters. After about 15 mins, I asked a server passing by for the 3rd time if he could send our waiter and he gladly took our orders. Five minutes later our actually waiter come and we informed he we’d given our odes already.
Service was pretty slow. Others were being served and checked in on who were seated after us. We ordered a salad and a sandwich and sweet potato fries. Nothing to write home about, under seasoned food. I appreciate the fresh local produce. I have many friends who enjoy this place. Perhaps it was an off day...
Liked the pulled pork sandwich and the turkey. Fries were okay. Chicken wings were disappointing.
We sat outside. I love how the outside and inside are not separated too much. Big open windows in between outside and inside so you could see everything.
Standard Bottomless Brunch spot. You'll know what to do.
Just gets better the second time . Give it a strong recommendation for duck, bone marrow and beer on tap.
The foods was so tasty, we enjoyed our dinner so much. However the server wasn't right for us. I felt racism...I hoped if we could have other server, it will be the perfect anniversary dinner at the table.
Dodgers playoff game - fun with Dodger dog!
My Father and I had a wonderful breakfast! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
This is one of our go to places. You can count on very good to outstanding and unique food, fun and tasty unusual drinks and fun and friendly service.
This restaurant is exactly as advertised. The atmosphere is casual. Most of the space is occupied by the bar. The food is outstanding bar food with a limited number of entre' items. We could only sample a three items. They were great.
Specials are always good and interesting. Host and server were kind and accommodating. Rick shrimp and calamari appetizer full of flavor. Duck and farro was delicious!
Ordered off the happy hour menu. Large selection & portions. Friendly attentive service. We were quite pleased. We will be back.
Went for a later brunch. The food was wonderful. Everyone in my group enjoyed their dish. Will definitely go back.
The food was great very relaxed area loved how pet friendly they are. Thank you for giving great service and tasty food!
