LOUD!!!!! Ugh too loud. It’s like a bar everywhere in the place.
I wasn’t expecting it to be inside a hotel and so small. Our server was nice. The place was a bit loud, but not horrible. The food was okay. The calamari was good, the ravioli was cold - even after being sent back to be warmed up. The burger was good. The taco was okay. It was a fine place if you’re hungry, it just wasn’t what we were expecting.
Had the deconstructed shrimp tamale - INCREDIBLE! Had the Hen and dumplings - BEST ever had. Awesome roasted chicken broth, tender chicken, and real, honest to goodness, dumplings! Celery, carrots and peas in the broth were crunching and the taste of each was distinguishable from the others. Dessert was salted caramel cheesecake with chards of pretzel on top.
Service was top notch, from being greeted to seating, to food advice, delivery, and finish
Everything was delicious
Food was great! Had the pork tenderloin and scallops. The caramel apple martini was perfect!
Loved it. Very nice, and just average sound but not loud and peaceful.
The Pork Ribeye was absolutely amazing! A must order. Very cute cozy spot. I’m sure it’s even better in the summer on the water
Angel was great. Great atmosphere, great food.
Above expectations! Came here for lunch before and it was ok but the brunch is were the heart of the menu comes alive. I would recommend getting a couple items off the menu and splitting them to get a taste of everything. Skip the $20 Bloody Mary because it’s not worth it, the regular price one is just fine.
31st wedding anniversary
Food was good, just burgers since time was limited, good thing as service was extremely slow - finally ordered from the mgr as our server had disappeared & they weren’t that busy @ 5:00 - plan on extra time if dining there
Great food, relaxing setting next to river. The Rueben Sandwich was BEST I ahem ever tasted! Although we didn't do brunch, for $22, it looked like a steal: breakfast stuff, fried chicken looked awesome, steamed mussels, beef stroganoff... amazing! Would do this again in a heartbeat!
Everything about our experience was perfection! Kevin our server made great suggestions and was attentive, not overly pushy. Thank you again for another fabulous meal!
My husband and I had dinner and enjoyed everything about the ambiance, delicious food and tasty cocktails. However, our server Joey brought the experience over the top. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and readily available throughout the evening. Thank you for a marvelous experience.
The service was very slow but excellent waiter. Food was great. Best short ribs I’ve had.
Was out of town for weekend and ventured upon the Inn for brunch. Considering it was Labor Day weekend, we were able to sit within only a few minutes. Their buffet was unlike a traditional buffet: exquisite omelette bar, fresh fruit bar, mini Belgian waffles, muscles, fried chicken and perch, sweets and deserts. I’m sure I’m missing half of it, but I was too stuffed to go back a third time! Needless to say, the food was as fresh as if I had ordered it specifically.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, never without a smile.
Will definitely return and refer friends and family.
Lovely lovely evening at Plank’s with my father, husband, and daughter. Good and service both fantastic — our server was very knowledgeable. We had the charcuterie platter, mussels, mahi mahi, and scampi. They also have a kids menu. Beautiful view. Hope to return!
Food was excellent. Very slow service. Hostess was not good. Many available tables and she would make everyone wait
We dined at Torch & Tapas. The food was delicious and different. The service was slow for the amount of people that were there. We were celebrating our anniversary, and had let them know when making our reservation, but they didn't do anything to acknowledge it, which was disappointing.
Our favorite restaurant in St. Joe. Excellent menu and wine list. Love the fresh fish selections, especially the halibut. A very nice place with excellent service.
Second time there and once Gain food was wonderful. Server not as good as the first but not bad. Short ribs were an unexpected pleasure just a tad sweet.
We ordered the sous vide pork shank and sirloin steak. The pork was not very tender the pork skin was not charbroiled. The steak was too salty.
This place is always our favorite in the area. Fresh food with amazing presentation and taste! Highly recommend.
Great food and our waitress was awesome. Her attention to detail and her section was spot on. I don’t think we ever had an empty cup or left over plate on the table. Usually when you go out with a group someone won’t or doesn’t like the meal they chose. Well at Planks that won’t happen. We all loved our dishes. Great place.
Joey made our meal very special-attentive, friendly, accommodating & when he suspected my filet was cooked a little too long, had the kitchen make another before serving. Delicious food-great wine list too
Sitting outside with water views improves the experience. Inside is not special. Food and service are good.
We were seated one hour before food arrived. Manager was not happy and offered us another round of drinks or desert to go. 20 minuets later we were on our way.
Our food was good. Our waiter was great, until the restaurant got busy. Then we became invisible. The manager was very concerned about everyone's meal/experience except us. Stopped by every table but ours to see how everything was. Not sure if it's because we weren't guests of the hotel or what was up. Started out great, ended very disappointing. Way too expensive to not be a great experience.
Server was good. Kitchen was not. They were not very busy at the time (8:00 pm. on a Sunday). But it took a full hour for our entrees to be delivered. The server knew there was a problem and kept coming to our table to apologize for the delay and to assure us our meals were coming soon. When the food finally arrived it was good. But certainly not worth an hour wait. The manager did come by our table and offered an adjustment to our bill because of the delay (but no explanation of what happened). I would have rather had the food in a timely manner.
Great presentation of food. This restaurant has the potential to earn five stars. The waterfront location was not notable for us since we were seated at the entry to the restaurant. The food was delicious. But the restaurant was surrounded by construction and our map directions did not lead us to the front of the restaurant. Nevertheless, it was still a great dining choice. I had the halibut and my husband had a burger. Yum!
Has to wait quite awhile to get food. First restaurant I’ve ever been to that bread and butter was NOT a complimentary. We ended up ordering it bc food was taking so long. There were 6 of us and about half had good food. Two meals were bland. Bar was cool and there was a great bartender that we met after dinner. View of water wasn’t cool
Service was very slow and inattentive. Buffet was not worth $22
Whenever I have visited St. Joseph's in the last year, I have brought my guests here to dine.
The food is terrific...especially the fish entrees! The service has been hit or miss and that is too bad since I was raving about Planks to my friends. We had a drink at the bar to start and on this evening we had Hailey and some other guy I didn't bother asking his name. Forgetful, not friendly, asked me 3 times what my mom was having and I said virgin Pina Colada 3 times. How hard is that to remember? Asked me for a card to start a tab(they won't let you transfer drinks to your dinner tab) and I had already given it to him. I must mention that we were 3 of only 6 people at the bar at that time and the restaurant was not full.
Our saving grace that evening was Kyle( he was definitely over worked and made to take tables both inside and outside while we were there) Due to this we had to wait quite awhile to reorder drinks and get our dinner but he comped a drink and the bred(which you have to pay for here) and remembered to bring me my birthday dessert on the house.
All said and done, I will return because the food really is that good and there are not a lot of comparable restaurants in St. Joseph's.
Beautiful views from outdoor seating area. Didn't care for the menu and food was mediocre. Service ok.
I cannot say better things about the food at Plank's! I was blown away by my homemade pasta and bursting flavor. I went to dinner with 5 people, we all got something different and we were all blown away. I don't usually write reviews, but this food was so good, I HAD to. In addition, the manager was extraordinary — willing to accommodate a few special needs we had — and the service was great. Can't recommend enough.
Excellent service, food was delicious and the everything was just delightful. Thanks Planks!
Pathetic that they need to charge for bread. When paying $28 for a piece of fish with everything alacarte at least they should provide bread
Had a great meal. Lots of attractive options to choose from for food and drink. Nice view of the river with an option for outdoor seating on the river. Service was both attentive and entertaining and our party of four felt well taken care of.
Nice ambiance. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Perfect place for a special occasion or a unique night out. (Indoor dining section)
There is also a more casual outdoor area, however, I have not experienced that yet. I will definitely check it out, next time.
