Darius was a fabulous server. The booth next to us had a broken seat. Four sets of guests attempted to sit there by the staff and each one fell off the bench. This was absolutely unacceptable. My niece fell pretty badly off the bench and nobody came over to see how she was.
Visiting NYC with wife and son. Food was pretty good, service was a bit slow for a Monday night. Servers were nice, one was a trainee. Too loud to have a conversation.
Horrible food and service couldn’t have been worse, beginning we were the only ones in the restaurant.
No wonder why it was almost empty.
Planet Hollywood Times Square would make an amazing dance club...... great music, dance club vibe, fun drinks, and impossible to have a conversation with the person next to you.
This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had as a family in the theater districts. I wasn’t expecting 5 star service or food but I was hoping for at least 2-3 stars. Our table wasn’t ready at our reservation time, our waiter was invisible, the food was cold, stale, and awful, and the music is so loud you cannot even hear the person next to you. Horrible horrible horrible.
Brought kids here for a fun night out in the City last minute- waiter was great, and was awesome with the kids (6 & 9). Food was okay, menu was slim.
A tired interior in need of updating with adequate food but friendly staff
We went for the kids birthday. They had a fun time and loved the birthday dessert.
Tables were really small for a family of four and the decor was a bit dated for this type of place.
We have been to many Planet Hollywoods and this by far was the NOISIEST & most crowded of them all. Our server was kind but WAY too overtasked with several tables coming in at the exact same time. We had a reservation for 530 but did not get seated until closer to six, which of course is frustrating. They also hosted a couple school groups which made the line to the restroom extremely long. The music was extremely loud and there were many teenage kids running and shouting everywhere. As a mom of a couple teenagers, I’m not normally bothered by this but combined with everything else it just made for a bad experience. I would say the only bright spot was that I had a delicious kale citrus salad and it was fresh and well composed. Overall, it was a disappointment. I expect better in New York City and certainly for the price we should’ve had a more enjoyable experience. We will not be back.
We took our grand-daughter who is 7. My wife and I had burgers. She took two bites and left hers. I ate mine and felt ill afterwards. They were worse than plane food. Overpriced junk. And the memorabilia was also pretty disappointing. Would never go again.
Fun, it was just very busy, but to be expected! We had a reservation and got there early and they accommodated us and I truly appreciated it! The hostess and server were very very pleasant and worked hard!
We had reservations and still waited too long to get our table. Even though half restaurant was empty there were A LOT people waiting to be sited. The hosts were not nice and didn’t know their job. The music was too loud, we could not hear each other.
Easter. We decided to go something different for Easter and we were glad we did. A great place for everyone
Good service, limited menu, poor cooking, very very loud, ridiculously loud, couldnt talk or hear for background music, restaurant:
tired decor, not particularly clean, super busy, very disappointing like eating 2nd rate food in a cheap circus side show
This place is horrible everything is just bad the food and service. Save your taste buds please.
Theme restaurant (part of a chain) with Hollywood celebs memorabilia, cool music and ambience. Friendly service, great cocktails.
Food was horrid. Was fun for kids. Wouldn’t go again.
The food just wasn't very good. The kid's pizzas were not prepared well. My 8 year old usually eats everything, but he was not happy about his pizza. He ate it only b/c we were not going to order anything else.
My burger was simply awful. I don't know if it was the meat, but it was just hard and dry. I asked for it to be well done, but it wasn't. I think it had to be the type of beef used. It looked like and tasted like it was just frozen and warmed up on the grill. Not cooked from scratch.
Our steak salad was good.
Service was really good. Server was great.
But, I can't recommend a place based on just service. For $80 in Time Square The food needs to be better than this.
Booked this restaurant to celebrate my husbands 40th Birthday.. we arrived 15 mins before our booking of 6pm and after watching streams of other guests be seated in a very noisy uninviting restaurant, we were finally shown to able at 7.05pm! 1hour and 20 minute wait! We booked 2 months in advance! Will two young children in tow this was very much not acceptable! Our children were tired grouchy and very u likey to eat by this time. The table we were seated at was in a walkway which felt very much like a table had been set for us in the new York subway during rush hour! We were seated with no apology by extremely unhelpful and uninviting staff who clearly looked out of their depth attempting to organise such a large influx of people. Needless to say, the evening had lost it's sparkle for us and we left after 10 minutes of sitting at the table with no interaction... incredibly unhappy! My husbands evening was ruined. We would absolutely NOT recommend.
Very lively and crowded, but I was expecting the food to be better. It was just ok, but it was Times Square on a Saturday night.
We went because we thought this would be a family friendly and fun place for our kids to see while we were in NYC. We knew it would be an overpriced tourist trap, but thought we would be OK with reservations. The best word to describe Planet Hollywood is chaotic. From arrival, they couldn't find the reservation, no one seemed to know who was seating whom, our (very kind) server seemed to be perpetually slammed. Our food came out in two shifts: half our table had it 10 minutes before the other half. The food was decent, and everyone was friendly, but it was a pretty stressful experience overall. We would not go back.
Food wise, Planet Hollywood was my favorite of all the touristy places in the midtown area. I didn't expect that, considering the first and only time I went to Buca, half my classmates and I got sick on the way to Carnegie Hall. A really great atmosphere too....sometimes when I walk into one of these places as a 21 year old and I feel like the minority but I felt very comfortable at PH. I'll definitely be back.
Good food and friendly service staff but music way too loud and music videos on pervasive screens were not really what I wanted my young kids to be seeing.
Waiter was on point
Great atmosphere, music, food and service. I enjoy my meals and time every time. Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
Needs major renovations. Felt very old and dark inside. Food is overpriced and is not fresh, definitely could tell it’s frozen. My kids did not like the pizza and they love pizza. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Normally we enjoy Planet Hollywood. But, food was semi-warm. Order was not right, asked for a couple of sauces on side instead of on the burgers; it took so long to get the meal we didn’t want to risk reordering. We didn’t see our waitress a single time for a drink after placing the order. Another table’s waiter was nice enough to get us a drink at the very end of our meal. Asked the waitress for our bill, waited 20 mins and had to go back up to the bar to ask her again. 3rd time was a charm after waiving her down. I will cross off NYC Planet Hollywood from being a revisit due to bad service.
Service was great. Food was decent. Very good resto for families...Enough to choose from on the menu. Great location in Times Square.
First visit to a planet hollywood
Very friendly well enjoyed our visit
We were placed in a room that was next to the restaurant and it was not fun...we could not even hear and see the music or nice decoration on the main restaurant...too expensive for nothing
Also had to wait 30 min even though we had reservations
Our waitress was more than excellent; helpful, friendly, and helped to get us out in time for our show. Getting seated however was frustrating. Having arrived early for our reservation we were told that it was ok and we would just need to wait with those people who didn't have reservations to be seated. That sounded absolutely reasonable. UNTIL, people coming in after us (without reservations) were being seated. We inquired when we would get a table and were told that we would have to wait until our reservation time - a full 45 minutes. Complained to the 'seater' and we were then seated after 5 more minutes. This unfortunately set a bad tone for the experience.
Had dinner before a Broadway show. Was seated pretty quickly. Waitstaff was friendly. Waited a very long time for our food. Food was very good. Would go back.
Food was very nice but the portions were very large !! The air conditioning made it very cold - we had to sit with our coats on.
We have visited New York for many years and dined at Planet Hollywood many times. However this was a very different experience. Our waitress was very rude, food was slow, service was diabolical and generally a rather unsatisfactory experience.
We declined to leave the full service gratuity that was on the bill because of the details listed above as felt that it wasn’t deserved.
On leaving the waitress very angrily stopped me shouting and shaking with rage because we didn’t leave the full gratuity! I was shocked by her actions...... her response that it was going to now come out her pocket.... I’m not sure what she meant she then followed with if you can’t afford to eat out don’t
We won’t be going back to Planet Hollywood in NY again
We arrived at the venue and were told the did not have space to seat us together. They said the booking only allowed us to go to the top of the wait list, and not have a table reserved. They split us up over two s croon of the restaurant into 3 groups (we were a school group of 15).
I could see other large parties in a separate room and were seated together, and the room was virtually empty.
Very disappointing. Food was ok. Service mediocre. Drinks were forgotten and we had to ask for everything. A desert was provided for one of our group members with a birthday which was a Great touch.
Our server let us know he was passing us off to an alternate. After about 15-20 minutes of just sitting there, I had to go find a waiter to help us. We had not ordered and we had drinks, but he never left straws. Couldn't even get extra napkins, because the server was MIA the whole time. Go to Hatd Rock. Was waayy better
Good service, mediocre food. Nice atmosphere. A bit noisy.
Unfortunately it was awful. Food was ok at best. Service was shocking to the point of rude. We couldn’t wait to leave.
Great atmosphere and service, but I think these days they play on the brand and forget about food quality!
Being in Times Square and I think the first restaurant opened in the chain (?) is likely the draw for people, but the food quality for what you pay is way off!
