Planet Hollywood - Times Square Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation for 6pm and then I called the restaurant to see if we could move it to 5:45pm and they confirmed that we could. We arrived at 5:45pm and no tables were available. We were not seated until 6:20pm. The hostess was rude and not apologetic. We approached another staff member and he was rude as well. The only positive feedback I can give is the waitress was friendly. Unfortunately we were under time constraints before a show so we couldn't leave and walk into another restaurant without a reservation so we had to stay otherwise I would have not supported the establishment. You have a reservation for a reason. Waiting 35 minutes after our reservation is unacceptable.
If I could give you one piece of valuable advice when visiting Planet Hollywood, Times Square, New York; it would be BOOK IN ADVANCE.
I tried to eat at Planet Hollywood initially on the 29/12/17 but gave up. I got there at 5pm and there was a queue of around 10 people waiting for tables. I was advised that there was a 30 minute wait but after an hour and a half I still hadn’t moved and was advised a table would not be available in time. I had to leave as I had tickets for a show at 7.30pm so I left very annoyed.
I pre booked a table the folllowing evening at 7.30pm and was more or less shown to a table straight away. The service is slow but the food was good. I ordered the 10oz Sirloin which was cooked to perfection which came with potato skins and green beans.
If you go to McDonalds beforehand there is a $10 off voucher which you can use.
Time from seating to delivery of food was around 35 minutes pre booked.
If you don’t pre book be prepared for an extremely long wait (and I mean long).
Book ahead, use your head and you can’t go wrong.
App sampler was more then enough for four ppl and it was delicious... the milkshakes look just the same as in the picture kids loved it... clean fast friendly service thank you to the young lady who seat us (sorry can’t remember her name) and thank you Kyle for your friendly service first time we haven’t feel rushed in NYC we really enjoyed
The music is ridiculously loud!! I mean i know its Planet Hollywood but we couldn’t hear eachother talk unless we were screaming! The constant flashing loghts circulating was also very annoying and should be leasened! The wait with reservations in the gift shop is ridiculous with kids bc they want to buy everything and when dont you get it for them then you have crying before the meal even starts! The chicken fajitas chicken was burned but at that point kids were so cranky didnt want to wait to have it changed out! There was soo much staff anywhere yet we barely saw our waiter and had to wait 15 minutes to get a check afyer asked and 20 minutes at one point to get water absurd! We are notd people either and to experience this on a Thursday I cant imagine a busier day! I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Its clear that this place is a tourist trap, and my expectations were low. Just thought it would be a good place to bring kids. Food was disgusting. Their signature dish the crunchy chicken was chewy like it had been sitting out for an hour and heated up twice. Even then it was barely warm. A chicken cesar salad i would think is hard to mess up. Nope, not for them. They served it where the lettuce was wilted and the chicken was ice frozen cold. First bite was crunchy from the ice. Service was very slow, restaurant was poorly run, sloppy argumentative management. Manager argued that the there was no way the chicken was ice cold. I then clanked it on the plate. Close this place already or do it right.
Rubbish food in a dated and dirty environment. The washrooms were disgusting and we couldn't let our children use them. I'm amazed it hasn't been closed down. Very bad advertisement for American food and the Times Square area. All we wanted was a fun place to eat with our children - sadly this isn't that place.
