PL8 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our meals were fantastic. Great presentation, fresh, and flavorful. We have been to PL8 numerous times. Unfortunately, this time the wait staff were slow and forgetful. Took 20 minutes to get our initial drinks followed by repeat requests for other items and for the table to be cleared of appetizer dishes. Definitely an off night that changed my guests perception of the restaurant.
We have been here several times and this time was disappointing. Our waiter was also working the bar so he was not very attentive. I ordered the orange peel chicken and although plentiful was just average in the taste and presentation categories. My husband had the wide noodle dish and felt the same, just okay. Our friend had the 7 spices chicken and a tempura dish that they said was good. Will give it another try to see if it was just an off night.
Creative use of shipping cargo container!! Ambience is very warm and friendly. Lighting is low but not dark.
Our menus were rather old and tattered (well loved?) but they were clean so who cares?!! We only ate sushi. Patrick our server/bartender was EXCELLENT in offering rolls and describing them to a T.
Our rolls were presented beautifully and they tasted even better!
We will go back!!
It is a good rule of thumb to help the customers in front of you before a phone call. Not too many people at the restaurant and our table was set... Minus the tablecloth when everone else outside had one. Before the host sat us she took a phone call and someones order. We waited... Not a long time but enough time that everyone in my party noticed. Moral to the story... Help the customer in front of you first.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. I even called to let them know it was a special occasion. Slightly disappointed that there was not even a Happy Anniversary for anyone there. Food was great as usual. We splurged for desert and it was good but too expensive for what we got.
The server was very friendly. The paper menu was pretty beat up, they should definitely look at printing new ones.
The tuna wonton appetizer was good, but they put the wontons on top of a sauce that made the wontons soggy. The Chicken curry was okay, but there was more tofu in it than chicken and the tofu didn't have a good flavor. The brownie sundae was amazing!
Usually very good food; this time the tempura shrimp were not hot, were limp as though a couple days past their useful prime. I felt I was getting shrimp that should not have been served.
The Mongolian beef, as usual, was terrific. Everything else, service, drinks were up to snuff.
