We had a great time for dinner here, my brother, sister in law, husband and I. Our server, Olivia, was awesome - very helpful, accommodating, and prompt with our service. The food was wonderful. We had burgers, chicken pot pie and I had the prime rib sandwich which just melted in my mouth. We will definitely be going back again!
What a great place to stop for a meal or sandwiches before a show at the (next door) Colonial Theater! Everything is superb in this restaurant. The only downside in Phoenixville is finding a parking space. Like the comedian said at the show next door... "Parking was so bad he drove to Pottstown to park, and took an Uber back to Phoenixville."
Both my wife and I enjoyed dinner before the show at the Colonial Theater. We had reserved a table which was ready when we arrived. We appreciated the number of menu selections. Appetizers and entrees arrived quickly and portions were generous.
Busy neighborhood pub. Above average food. Great, friendly service. Went the extra mile.
A great Irish pub along the main drag. Not too dark. A smaller beer menu, but not limited by any stretch. Some interesting takes on appetizers (corned beef spring rolls, cooked bruschetta) and solid entrees, mainly Irish pub staples. Only major issue is the parking situation in that area, and that's not even a restaurant problem. All-around excellent service and I would recommend.
Nice pub for a casual evening out. A number of tables were occupied, but the pub was not packed on a Friday evening. The table in the bar area was perfect and our wait person was very attentive. We will return.
Nice pub in downtown scene. Crab bisque was very good as was the burger. Good, quick, friendly service. Good value. Would eat here again.
Had a great meal, with fantastic service. The location of our table was not the best. We were sat far from the rest of the guests, but the area filled in as the night went on. We enjoy having dinner at PJ Ryan's before hitting up the rest of Phoenixville, and we are looking forward to our next visit soon.
Food and service were excellent
Great food, casual dining, so convenient to our concert location.
We had great meals, sandwiches, and drinks, alomg with great service. All this, and so convenient for the shows next doof at the Colonial Theater.
Our second visit. Consistency plus. Excellent food; excellent service; always greeted by a most accommodating hostess.
Great service, drinks, and food!
We stopped here for dinner prior to going to the theater in Phoenixville. We had an early reservation. Happy hour drink prices. Nice view from the porch. Mussels were great! Reasonable prices. I would definitely go back.
The food was pretty good, but our waitress, Suzanne was very good. Overall, a good night out.
It was a good experience overall. Our waitress was fun and did a great job.
Great place overall
The food in my opinion.was not as good as the last time we dined here. That was two months ago. The service was sporadic at best. Several times we had empty glasses and we were right across from the bar.
Tough lunch. Probably will not be back. Dirty plate for apps, fish fry soggy and not to temp, then overcharged on bill. Server was nice and it looked like a really fun night spot, but as they say...three strikes and your out. Wanted this to be a great lunch but it was really disappointing.
First time visit, but upon walking in found it to be filled with smokers around the bar. So unusual today. The side room was a little better, until one of the wait staff went out the side door to catch a smoke and let in a stream of the smoke. The mussels in red sauce were good, but the beef tips were tough and stringy. I would probably not return as there are plenty of places in Phoenixville that have better food and no smoke.
Our baked salmon was awesome as well as the service definitely will dine here again
Food was fine: it was a buffet. Very poor service otherwise: couldn't get water or silverware for nearly 30 minutes after being sat, despite asking multiple times.
It was fathers day and the restaurant was not ready for the crowds. Service was very lacking, the brunch buffet ran out of food on several occasion and we had lengthy waits till the kitchen was able to resupply it. Also, the waitresses were overwhelmed and did not bring coffee and drinks ordered on a timely basis and forgot requests on several occasions. It was an unfortunate experience for a place that otherwise is pretty good for brunch and where normally the service is good and the food plenty.
The food and service was very good, I would go there again.
We wanted to eat before the early show at the Colonial theatre, and P.J. Ryan's is next door. We hadn't been there before and were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the service efficient, plus it's a nice space decorated with historical photos of Phoenixville. At that hour they weren't very busy yet and it was quiet. My companion had a burger and I had the chicken quesadilla, both very good. We will be back for other pre-movie dinners!
PJ Ryan's was great! Drinks, food, bartenders, servers, host staff all very good. All in our party was pleased, happy and well fed. Too bad it's in the Borough of Phoenixville which isn't as accommodating or cordial. Don't want to spoil this review of PJ Ryan's though cause it's a hit and you should try it!
My wife and I traveled 45 min to find a new place to eat. PJ's was worth the trip. Service was great, food was very good for the price and the atmosphere lived up to expectations. We will be back again soon. (Also, download the Phoenixville parking app for fast in and out of the resturant.)
Great service! Great food. We will be back!
The service and the wait staff were wonderful!!! There was a variety of choices and specials. All of the food came out hot! I guess I was looking for a restaurant that wasn't such a bar atmosphere. I wanted more of a restaurant feel.
Good service. Enjoyable food. Intend to go back
Our waitress was really good, and we relay enjoyed the large buffet. The $3 make your own Bloody Mary stand is cute also.
Great neighborhood feel. Really good cheeseburgers and comfort food.
Food wa good and the service was particularly good
Our server and everyone else were great. They could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Very comfortable place. Food was typical Irish pub fare, with a few additions to the menu. Draft beer list, despite the number of offerings, was very limited to my taste. Very affordable for beer drinkers.
I picked PJ Ryan's Pub for a Mother Day's outing with my wife, kids, and grandparents. The location was easy enough to find and we were seated quickly. My issue was that the service was terrible. Though the young lady was nice enough, she was beyond slow and had to be told to bring silverware, drinks, menus, etc. We didn't immediately even as for anything figuring that she would bring items out once we were seated. I had to borrow menus from another table because she never brough them out to us. It really spoiled what i thought would be a good night out.
Group of 8 (2 rambunctious kids). We went a few years ago and great spread again. Was budy so had to flag waitress for refills but very friendly. Highly recommend. I'm a foodie and a bit of a snob and enjoyed it as much as everyone else.
We have gone to brunch several times at PJ. Ryan's. There is always plenty of food and a good selection. I really like the omelet station! My only complaint this time was our waitress did not ask about coffee refills until just before we left.
We went at an off hour time; had our choice of where to sit. Service was prompt, very friendly and accomodating. Food and service has always been great during busy hours. It's nice to know that the service and food quality stay the same even when the restaurant is quiet. To us, that is a quality of a well run establishment. Thanks!!
Very nice place to eat and meet friends. Service was great and food was like I was back in Ireland.
I was so pleasantly shocked to find zucchini ribbon pasta on the menu! I cannot eat wheat, so having a bowl full of super low calorie veggies that felt and tasted like pasta was such a treat. I'm coming back soon! They even allowed me to switch it from a scampi to a marinara sauce. Thanks!
