About Pizzeria Villagio
The idea of Villagio comes from a marriage between time and place; the old neighborhoods of New York City and the abundant plains of California. What California brings to the table figuratively and literally, is its abundance of fresh produce, fresh starts, and the opportunity to reinvent. And so it was with these two places and time in mind that we set out to build a restaurant that would meld the two.
With pizza dough made from scratch, hand stretched and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, our proprietary pizza sauce and the freshest of ingredients, Villagio invites you to dig in and enjoy our food, our warmth, and our relaxing ambiance. A place where old world tradition, meets new world freshness.

Pizzeria Villagio Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant was a favorite when it first opened. A few years ago it was completely remodeled and the menu was drastically changed. Food quality was poor and service did not exist. Owners must have gotten the message and original menu was reinstated and service has slightly improved. We did wait an hour before getting our first appetizer so it still needs some work! I will try again to see if it reaches the previous standard of a neighborhood gem!
The happy hour has some delicious items and the bartender is very friendly.
My favorite meal so far is the Spaghetti Carbonara (with a fried egg on top), it is so delicious, I hesitate to get anything else! Had this with caesar salad and had leftovers for two days.
Our server (Dan?) was great .
food entrée is so nothing special they could do better than that, saving glory is the pizza and buffalo wings , the bread is tasteless and hard as a rock. we spend a good amount of price but never impress for the main course. that how it goes live and learn
Found Pizzeria Villagio the last time visiting Palm Desert and returned as we enjoyed it so much. Their pizzas are excellent. This time we tried a lot of their appetizers on the happy hour menu before ordering pizza. Meatballs were so tasty and so was the shrimp and sausage dish. We enjoyed fried calamari too. There were 6 of us and PJ took excellent care of us....great waiter.
East to find very large restaurant with lots of parking.
Great Happy Hour menu with excellent prices and drinks.
Cesar Salad, Calamari and pasta were excellent. Pizza was "OK"
Service was good. The restaurant was not very busy so it was quiet--Had it been busy it would have been noisy with all the hard surfaces.
Met a friend for lunch .. neither of us had been to Villagio in awhile. I was surprised to see how radically the decor had changed, and (sadly) not for the better (in my opinion). It's very white and kind of antiseptic .. before there were lots of great 1920's art deco food advertising posters on the walls, and the back wall had some standout great B&W photos of movie stars .. Big Crosby, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra. Now, it's just .. white. Regarding the food, I'm happy to say that the food was just as good as I remembered. My friend had chicken wings appetizers which she pronounced delicious. I had an individual Margherita pizza w/added mushrooms and artichokes. It was excellent. Will look forward to going back soon and enjoying the food. Our waiter, Charles, was very pleasant and accommodating.
We had a table reserved for 8 (4 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant) and service was slow considering there were only two other tables near by with other customers when we were seated and placed our order. Refills on drinks took some time, appetizers took longer to come out and our meals came directly after so there wasn't much time to enjoy either. Since we were behind on time due to service, we had to take our dessert to go.
We visit often and always enjoy our food. The seafood salad is the best in the valley and the caesar salad is great also.
The pizza and pasta selections are delicious.
Only complaint is that they seem to be understaffed at times resulting in service that varies in efficiency.
At busy times two hostesses at the door would help.
Great dining overall and we will continue to visit often.
Met friends for dinner. Nice looking place. But I found it quite expensive and the pizza was just okay. Appetizers were fair, but also costly. The little bread balls were hard to chew and didn't have a lot of flavor except for the melted butter they were swimming in. Pizza crust was nothing to write home about, one diner leaving his crusts on the plate. Would I go back? Probably not, as Bill's Pizza in Palm Springs absolutely smokes this place. Bills isn't fancy, but it's the best, bar none.
This was our 3rd experience at Pizzeria Villagio. The food is exceptionally well-prepared and presented. This time I had the salmon with rosemary potatoes, yellow and red peppers and onions with pesto sauce, red pepper sauce and a cream kind of sauce. SO delicious. Time before this I had the vegetarian lasagna--like none you have ever had. Everybody else was also very satisfied. My husband, looking for New York pizza was so skeptical, was so happy with the pizza. We have found a new place to eat. Our waiter was great, personable, efficient and prompt. The ambience is clean, spacious and comfortable and still looks like an Italian restaurant should.
This was our third time and it's not what it was when it opened. Service was a bit snippy. Pasta sauce was watery, There were a lot of screaming kids thee which didn't make for a fun evening. We had to ask the waiter for rolls (which were stale), parmesan cheese (which had no flavor), water.
Our meal was fair at best. My salad was so bland and uninteresting that I sent it back. We had heard the pizza was great! The pizza sauce had little to no flavor and the crust was limp and soggy. We are always looking for a good pizza place since my husband is from New Jersey, but still we r looking. We wish our experience had been better.
Several new items including seafood and one my wife had. Gnocchi with prosciutto and peas in a light creamy sauce. I had an old standby of penne and bolognese with chopped sausage. Both very tasty and as usual too much for one sitting especially after their famous garlic nuts.
