Pizza was good but pasta was
The only problem we had was the salmon was served too raw and they said that’s the way they serve it. We were credited. If we were told ahead we wouldn’t order.
This was our 3rd time here and 3 times in a row we have had amazing food, this is very unusual for us as most places we go are not consistent. This place is a favorite now. we had the Meatballs, french fries and margherita pizza, all were very tasty. Looking forward to our next visit.
Pepperoni pizza was excellent, otherwise pizzas and the pasta ragú were ok. Appetizers are just ok, the octopus was very disappointing. Brussel sprout app is very good. Bread for the table was not good, very hard. This place is fine pre-show and very easy to walk over. They do validate your parking so remember to get that. Our server was very nice and efficient.
Best pizza (get the Home-made style) outside of Italy from that wood burning oven....stoooopidly amazing! Truffle stuffed Tortellini......save room for a Cannoli it was outstanding!
Love this place! Delicious food and great wait staff.
Always good. Can get busy. Good food. Good service.
We have been going here for at least 4 years now. The food is excellent! Burrata butternut squash appetizer is amazing. Their pizzas are pretty good too. Service was great
Great spot for pre-theater bite! Parking is validated so you can splurge on some good wine :) We had the meatballs, squash, and the white pizza (don't remember the name) and all were scrumptious! They very kindly kept track of time for us to be sure we got our orders in and weren't late for the show. Lovely!
We frequent Mozza and enjoy it very much. Thank you.
We arrived right on time and we were sat right away. The wait staff was very helpful in selecting an appetizer (burrata and prosciutto) and entree. The wood fired pizza (salame piccante) was spot on. Crust was a perfectly charred and the spice was just right. My guest enjoyed his gnocchi although it was not a particularly large serving. Prices were about what I'd expect for South Coast area. Overall a good experience and would go again.
Food was really great! The contrast of service was evident in how I heard on waiter speaking with the couple behind us verses how our waiter spoke with us. We both got pasta on this trip and I would definitely go back to try the pizza.
Our waiter was nice but it took too long to get our drinks. Menu has changed and the selections weren’t as good. Restaurant seemed different than the many other times we’ve been here. Management change or ownership change...not sure?
Delicious food, service is hit and miss, and unfortunately the menu is limited on “show nights” - which is nearly every night for this restaurant. Was not advised of the limited menu until we were seated - not even posted outside the door. The food was delicious! The lack of protein available (fish, chicken, beef) makes it difficult to not over-indulge on carbs.
The food was terrific! We sat at a bar high top table and had the bartender as our server, which made us a bit concerned about the service, but all was wonderful. Angel provided us great service, personal attention, and great recommendations on the menu and drinks. Great night - we will definitely be back soon!
We love this place. Always get the pizzas, the crust and sauces are excellent. sometimes the service is slow, but overall usually very good.
Great before theater dinner. Food was great and our server was excellent.
I had the bucatini with bolognese - the sauce was extremely dry and lacked flavor. Service was good although it wasn't until after we had finished our lunch that the waiter bothered to come over and ask if we wanted refills on our water (my glass was almost empty). The restaurant was not that full so I am puzzles as to the lack of service in that respect. Restaurant is a little to stark for my taste - seating is extremely uncomfortable. Won't go back.
Everything was good except they were out of gin!
This is a great restaurant for those who enjoy great pizza and small plates that offer meatballs and squid ink pasta. The menu has something for everyone. Ideal place for those who consider themselves to be foodies.
One of my favorite Costa Mesa spots. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is great. Nice, casual atmosphere but there service makes you feel like you’re at a high-end fine-dining establishment. Perfect spot for you and your friends to meet up and have a nice evening together.
Jason is exceptionally gracious!!
Not to mention really handsome.
Hemingway all the way!
Terrible service . Marginal food. Even the pizza was not as good as chain restaurant
Waitress was outstanding and pizza is always great
Good spot for pre-theatre dinner. They seemed more prepared this visit for large pre-theatre guests than in previous visits. Yet at the end of the meal our server seemed to disappear! No coffee order? No dessert offered? Food was better than usual (sometimes in the past portions were ridiculously small) . Earlier in the day they accommodated our change in our 5PM reservation to a 5:30, but then we were not credited with our Open Table points! Free parking for the theatre and easy walking distance.
Ask for my confirmation twice.
Was seeing a show nearby
Seated 30 minutes after my reservation
Did not have time to enjoy my meal / rushed & missed the opening of the show - ugh
Server said they overbooked & their 3rd party reservation system is clueless of the traffic they receive when all 3 stages are performing
The pasta was a bit spicy (with peppers) but the prosciutto pizza was fabulous. Service was attentive and very nice.
Service was Horrible! We were ignored for 20 minutes. The Martini's were sent back twice for the bitter taste. Food was good but Cold. Presentation was nice. Manager did not have organization skills to run the restaurant
Arrived early on a Sunday and was told they had “run out” of one of the 3 salads they offer. Very disappointing.
Extremely understaff; it took more than half an hour to serve our drinks
There were four of us. One person had pizza which was okay. I had tortellini, cold gluey w/ fried green tomatoes, soggy. Husband had a cold gluey pasta. Arugula salad was good.
And other friend had the carbonara, did not use egg yolk as sauce. It was served with hard cooked poached egg, also cold and gluey.
We ate there before going to play. Next time we’ll eat at the theatre. There are several options.
After theater dinner
Food took a long time. It wasn’t busy. The pasta was cold. Pizza was good. Appetizers were also good. Value wasn’t there, the portions were small. Server and Busser were nice! Good service!
Food was delicious and service was great! Especially loved the guanciale pizza and Agnolotti...Don't get to dine here often, but always happy when I do!
Seemed a little slow getting the food out. Server seemed to disappear halfway through the meal. Not a horrible experience, but expect more considering the price.
Food was great
The pizza dough was great - we had a very good dinner-
The experience walking in was very disappointing. The front of house wouldn’t crack a smile for the life of her and when we were shown our table and wanted a regular height table table not a high top (mind you no one in the restaurant was sitting on the high tops and there were loads of regular tables available) her attitude was completely shocked and was put off for even suggesting it. We came for Father’s Day and my dad was shocked and wanted to leave.
They charge a cake cutting fee even if it’s just a party of 4 with a grocery store cake. Only thing we liked on the menu was the carbonara and olives. Drinks are sooo small and not worth the price. 6 people and we spent $300.
Very convenient to the OC Performing Arts Center, but not my first choice for food or service. Just OK.
