Pizzeria Libretto is located in Toronto, Ontario and specializes in serving Neapolitan style pizza. The restaurant is family friendly and utilizes local ingredients and tomatoes grown in Italy.
Pizzeria Libretto serves lunch and dinner daily and offers a takeout option. The restaurants menu features an array of pizza and authentic Italian appetizers, salads and desserts. Appetizer and salad options at the restaurant include prosciutto di parma, piatto grande, arugula salad, beet caprese salad, kale salad and flat iron steak skewers. An assortment of real Neapolitan pizza is served at Pizzeria Libretto including margherita, pepperoni, eggplant, duck confit and roasted cremini mushroom.
service and food was ver good. not the best pizza I have had but certainly fresh ingredients. the dipping oil is a must and you can buy a bottle to take home. more little people in the restaurant than I expected likely due to location. not a problem because I love little people but fairly loud and hard to have a conversation over dinner if that's what you are there for. would definitely go back to try other selections. Cinammon Expresso Gelato can't get enough. Must order!
I have dined at the Danforth location of Pizzeria Libretto many, many times. The staff are always friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The food is consistently excellent. It is one of my favourite restaurants in the city.
Our new favourite spot!
Can't stop thinking of that perfect pizza dough!
Great looking and very clean restaurant! Staff were attentive and flexible and service was incredibly fast! Food was AMAZING!! Tables are fairly close to one another so can be a bit noisy. There were a lot of parents with their kids.
Everything was great and delicious!!!
I love this place. The food is consistently great, it's reasonably priced, and we've always had really good service. My 8-year-old claims it's the best pizza she's ever had, and she's pretty discriminating, so I'd trust her judgment!
Beautiful place & great waiter - Everything was tasty - except - though we were told that the pizza would be crisp - it was soggy, with too much empty crust.
Went on a date here with my partner. We have been a few times before. Tried the beef carpaccio with arugula which was very good. I tried the prosciutto and arugula pizza and absolutely loved it. They have a great selection of wines and drinks. Overall great night!!
Really enjoyed our visit to Libretto every time. The pizzas never fail on taste and quality. Our favorite was the Sausage Bianco pizza.
Libretto's prix fix lunch is one of the best deals in town. $15 for salad, an awesome pizza and gelato to finish - it's a dream for the foodie on a budget. But food is never enough when one eats out and the lunchtime server knows his menu and has a great attitude, which makes this one of my favourite places in the city.
This is both a neighbourhood restaurant as well as a destination for serious pizza lovers. Their pizzas are extremely authentic, like the ones I've had in Italy. Thin crust, not a ton of ingredients, so you really taste what's on your pizza. Wood-fired oven. Good value.
I enjoyed dining at Pizzeria Libretto this week with my business associates. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered small plates and salads. I wish that they had a gluten-free crust as an option, but, alas, they do not. My salad was great. It got a bit noisy but it was a great vibe. I love having this place in the neighbourhood.
Delicious cocktail with Campari vodka clove etc
Pizza Libretto is known for their authentic wood-fired over pizza and they do a fantastic job of it however their menu and pizza selection is lacking and I think they should introduce some new menu items to keep things fresh.
After having ordered the exact same thing the last three times I've been here, I won't be back for a long while simply because I'm bored with their offerings and will wait for some new menu items/pizza flavors before returning.
Pizza was very good but very limited selection
Make sure to order the tiramisu!!!
We've been planning to come here for months and it was well worth the wait! The food and service was amazing. I had called to because we were going to be late for our reservation and the host was super helpful and friendly. Our grilled octopus appetizer was to die for, the duck confit and prosciutto arugula pizza were heavenly. The Panna cotta was delicious but I'd probably like to try other desserts on the menu next time. This place is always packed and now I know why, it is absolutely the best pizza in the city!!
The Danforth location is always a favourite.
We go there for special occasions because we love the atmosphere there. Family-friendly, yet still hip and cool, but not too cool.
Food is consistently great and so is the service.
Usually have a great time here, but really disappointed sith
Seen best in chow show and determined it was definitely a try and am I ever glad we did. Had the sausage pizza which was delicious. Next time we're back in town going to try the salami. That looked to die for also. Our waiter at the bar jack was very helpful and also quite polite and respectful. Definitely will be returning. Please share this with the crew as they should know how great of a team they are there from reception to the cooks. Keep up the good work. Definitely a gem of a restaurant.
Thanks for the experience.
Don and Leann
Great overall! Best pizza in Toronto!
Had Troubke finding parking
thin-and-crispy, Italian style pizza is somewhat a rarity in North America, where thick wheels of (cheap) dough are more typically covered with too much sauce and a comprehensive stratum of pasticky "cheese". here, dough is light and crispy, obviously done in a very hot oven, with just the right amount of high-quality ingredients to make every bite a delight. no "stuffed crust", and the mozz is the real thing, not something that might be mistaken for a petroleum byproduct.
I had nduja, which was interesting but perhaps would have benefited from a little more vegetal interest (maybe some red onion). but not much, because the pizza was already starting to suffer from slicing-related dampness. libretto margherita was tasty, but kind of spoiled the classic simplicity of margherita. the prosciutto-arugula could have used a touch of vinaigrette.
I really enjoyed it, even the leftovers, but it might have been a bit specialized for a person expecting "normal" pizza. I would definitely go back (and it's probably fortunate for me there's not a Libretto location in my normal zone...)
Went to pizza libretto for Valentine's Day dinner. The place was packed full of people - not surprised by this at all. We were seated in the middle of the bench seat on the lower level - literally squished between everyone. This took away from the ambiance. The service was horrible. The server stood at the bar and spoke with other customers for half an hour before taking our order. The food was delicious but the service and the ambiance were not.
Great food...very fast!!! Busy Saturday night and everything was on point! Excellent value, would recommend it to anyone!
Highlights for me included the gnocchi and last night's feature pizza (spicy sausage).
We were 10 minutes early for our reservation and they got us in which was nice so we didn't have to wait. The downside was...it took a really long time for us to get our pizza (really long actually). When the waiter brought our bill, we were hoping he would come back in 5 minutes to see if we needed the machine to pay but he took longer than 15 minutes. He eventually brought the machine and we kind of felt like he 'snubbed' us/got a little rude after he saw our 15% tip.
We've eaten at your restaurant before and the dinner and service was awesome so one bad experience won't turn us away.
Food is always good at Libretto!
Ordered the kale salad which was drenched in a lemony dressing that was far too much. I ordered salad, not a vat of dressing. Took two bites before I gave up as I couldn't stomach the over powering amount of dressing. Asked for the bill and left, it was obvious I didn't like the food but was never asked if everything was ok.
Was very weirded out when the restaurant phoned me after to ask if I was unhappy as someone finally noticed that I didn't eat my order. It would have been better if I had been asked while I was there rather than interrupting me with phone calls after the fact. I said I didn't like the food and won't be returning. Disappointing as this is a local place to me and I would have enjoyed a good place for Italian.
Pizzeria Libretto sure serves up a tasty lunch! My 3yr-old was very happy to be there, and my friend and I had to take leftovers home with us - huge lunch! And only $15!
Delicious food ..The gnocchi appetizer is amazing!
Pizzeria Libretto on the Danforth is a delight. The food is always so fresh and flavourful and the service friendly and attentive. It is comfortable, with the tables not too close, and a good place for lunch with friends if you want to sit and chat.
Three of the four of us had the prix fixe lunch. The Margherita pizzas and the other with additional ingredients, were all great. And, large enough to take a slice or two home!
The espresso-cinnamon gelato was perfect, creamy and not too sweet.
Have been to Pizza Libretto several times and have always had a good time. The wait staff are very friendly and make you feel welcomed. My one criticism about my last visit was that our pizzas were soggy in the middle and were undercooked.
We recently moved to the east end from the west end and were admittedly missing some of the comforts we were accustomed to in our old neighbourhood. Thank goodness we found out there was a Pizza Libretto on the Danforth! Our first visit wasn't great. The food was delicious but we had a server who clearly wanted to be somewhere else, barely checking in with us, not offering a second drink, rudely knocking on our table as he walked by and not even making eye contact. We're friendly people who love pizza so we knew this had to just be a bad experience and decided to go for it again. This visit was way better. It still took a while for a server to show up at our table to greet us but you could see that the restaurant was full and once we got her attention she was attentive for the rest of our visit. The food is so great. I've never had anything I didn't love at Pizza Libretto. I know there's big debate on this, but I prefer Pizza Libretto to Terroni any day.
Our waiter was amazing - totally on top of everything - provided recos - did not miss a beat and was very UPBEAT! Very refreshing.
Pizza Libretto have a lunchtime special. Salad, pizza + dessert all for $15.
Best deal on the Danforth.
The food was excellent as usual, as was the service.
It is my first time at the Pizza Libretto located on the Danforth. Like the others, it really does a great job of hiring friendly staff (no attitude).
As expected, the food was delicious. The ghocchi fritti are to "die for"!!!!
Great pizza, decent wine list, a bit loud, tight squeeze. always busy, very good prices for the quality of the food.
Always enjoy going to Pizzeria Libretto for the prix-fixe lunch (appetizer, pizza, dessert) -- always easy and delicious.
The food, service and ambience has been excellent every time I have eaten at Pizzeria Libretto. The pizzas are unique, very flavourful and the salads are great to share.
Ordered from the fixed price menu - caprese (made with beets, a lovely change-up), Margherita pizza (the chef decided to sprinkle grated cheese on my pizza and not sure why as it is not called for on a Margherita nor is it indicated on the menu) and a refreshing espresso cinnamon gelato. Was overcharged for the fixed price but it was quickly corrected. Service was effecient.
Pizza was Luke warm and sogy espresso was watered down. Not what I spected
