Pizza Mezzaluna is an authentic Italian trattoria. The restaurant has been part of the Manhattan restaurant scene since 1984. It uses high-quality ingredients and seasonal produce to create its sophisticated menu of appetizers, pasta dishes, pizza and more. The dining room at Pizza Mezzaluna is also authentically Italian. All of the restaurant’s décor, from the floor tiles to the marble-topped tables, flatware, glassware and chairs, are all imported directly from Italy.
Try classic appetizers like la caprese or carpaccio di pepperoni alla siciliana. Dig into a traditional pasta dish such as penne alla bisanzio, lasagna of the day or the chef’s choice ravioli of the day. At Pizza Mezzaluna there are nearly 20 different pizza options to choose from, including Carciofi with artichokes, mozzarella and tomato, Bianca with prosciutto, fontina, arugula and fresh tomato and Quattro stagioni with eggplant, artichokes, prosciutto and mushrooms.
We found this place on urbanspoon and I liked it a lot. We were offered some focaccia and that was delicious! The mozzarella bar was good, the pizza was a little soggy but that was because of the cheeses we had on it but it was still good! Small cozy dining area, I'd visit again.
This is a very cozy restaurant with just a few tables and a few counter spaces. On Friday night that we went, there was just one wait staff so the service felt a little slow and our pizzas took a bit longer than we had expected -- maybe full 30 min after we had ordered. We were not in a hurry and the pizzas were good, if on a little pricey side. However, on the special pizza with arugula, grape tomatoes, and buffalo mozarella cheese, the tomatoes were cold -- which felt jarring on a warm pizza.
Mezzaluna has amazing food and is a quaint place in the village. We stubbled across this place on Open Table and our girls loved it at well. Their pasta, pizza and mozzeralla apps were all so fresh and wonderful. Wish we lived closer because it would be a regular hangout.
We are fan of Mezzaluna Restaurant in Turkey and we wanted to try in NY city. We were not expecting such a small place ( only 4 tables) but food was very good and service was very fast. Lady who served us was very friendly and she made us feel like home.
My son tried Nutella pizza as a desert ( banana and walnut inside), it was delicious.
When our party walked into this tiny simple appearing 17 seat restaurant, I was concerned. Open table had rated it high, and they were right. It had simple decor, a limited choice of wines, but a fantastic waitress and incredible food. Caprese salad, roasted cauliflower with chickpeas, calamari, black linguini with shrimp, and focaccia were all crazy good. Pizza too. Pizzas to go heading out back at continuos pace. Local couple sitting next to us wanted to know how we found out about their Friday night dinner spot. Great find.
Authentic pizza/ pasta/salads
Tiny place so make a reservation or take out!!!
Well made Italian thin crust pizza with very fresh ingredients. Attentive service. Small seating area; no more than 10 tables.
Great service. Best pizzas in coal oven. Good options of Salads and Pasta. Reasonably priced wines. Real cozy and friendly atmosphere! Worth a visit!
What I love about this place is that they serve the authentic Italian food. My friend and I had a great time.
First, we shared a Bianca Pizza (prosciutto and arugula), then I ordered my favorite pasta, black linguine with shrimp ... amazingly good! And, I finished with the best Tiramisu in town, creamy and delicious!
I totally recommend this restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive.
We really enjoyed it. Thanks for the great experience.
Delicious calamari, I couldn’t get enough of it!!!
High quality pizza at Pizza Mezzaluna. They have a little brick oven and everything is made super fresh
The pizza is simply delicious and I also appreciated how friendly the service is.
