Pizza East - Kentish Town
I’m a big fan of this restaurant. Pea and fontina fritters were delicious, super crispy squid and a good marguerita pizza though I would have liked a little more topping and a bit less crust. Service was super attentive and charming. When we came in we were tempted by a refreshing goblet of aperol spritz we saw another customer drinking. It was so good I ordered a second which came in a tumbler. Not the same drink at all, the proportions were all wrong. Staff told me they only had 2 goblets and it was ‘ not company policy’ to serve them in the goblets! Really! What a shame as it ruined the drink. The lady on the next table sent her tumbler back, good on her. Please listen to your customers, invest in a few more decent glasses You will sell more if the drink is good and your customers will be happy 😊.
Lovely pizzas, lovely staff, lovely ambience. Highly recommended!
My first visit here, I was really impressed. Probably the best roast beef dinner I have had in a restaurant! Love the decor and ambience, good service. We were fairly near the ovens so quite warm! Overall would definitely recommend.
Super fast service, really friendly staff and pizza was delicious
Very nice and chill restaurant, with amazing food, and especially great pizzas! It's usually quite quiet, which is very pleasant next to the busy Kentish Town area. Every waiter is really nice and keen to help you with any food allergies.
You can also find many vegetarians options, which was deeply appreciated.
Another excellent experience. Thomas and his team are doing a great job!
Excellent food and service, and nice to see the old team from SJW Chicken Shop! We will be back!
Best pizza I’ve ever had! So delicious and everybody really nice. Price is also good
Service was very good, sadly the pizzas were not as on previous visits (both dough and sauce disappointing).
Margherita pizza is my standby and the best way to judge a pizza as there are no shmancy toppings to hide under. This one was very good--fresh, tangy sauce and good chewy crust, if very slightly underbaked. Ambiance was casual and hipster and service was very nice.
I guess me and my friends have been dining to Pizza East for at least 10 years. The last two times we have been the food and service has been very poor. What used to be a vibrant restaurant is now empty by 9pm. Our food was cold and one main course missing which meant my friend waiting a further 10 minutes Not difficult for the waiting staff to count how many people at a table (3) and check if only two main courses required!.. Regrettably we decided no more meeting up at Pizza East.
Good overall. Service just a fraction too cool for school.
Once again a lovely visit to Pizza East for delicious food and amazing service.
Most delicious roast lamb I have had in a long while.
Amazing staff, incredible food and brilliant atomesphere :)
Lovely meal, cocktails fantastic, service excellent, would recommend
Great as always. Lovely neighbourhood restaurant with delicious food.
Excellent as always. Great place to go at any time.
The burrata with figs and truffle honey was phenomenal! Never take it off the menu!
We went to Pizza East on Kentish Town to celebrate my daughter’s 8 th birthday after school on a Friday. The best part was how relaxed the staff was about the children making noise or exploring the venue. Very relaxed evening. Just what one needs on a Friday.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The music was rather loud and we moved to a quieter table in the corner. There was not much choice of food for vegetarians - even many of the pizzas included meat. And the choice of ice creams was limited - only strawberry and vanilla, no chocolate even. The cocktails were good, as were the desserts. Not a place to make a detour to, but fine if you are in the area, and want a casual place to eat at.
Warm atmosphere, fantastic pizzas. Great for children. However side dishes are heavy handed and expensive.
We booked online, never having eaten here before. We were delighted with the food and the ambiance.
Delicious pizza and salad. Sadly had to rush so no time for pudding!
Tues deal brings the price to good levels - food is decent and the service started well but everyone disappeared when we were waiting for dessert menus. We gave up the idea and just asked the barman for tea which was swiftly provided.
A really great pizza, one of the best I've had for ages and super convenient for the O2
As always a fantastic time wa had. The staff and especially the manager always make us feel like superstars (which we are) 👦🏾❤️
Normally excellent service here, might just have been a bad day. 4 of us went and all got food at very different times so first person had finished eating by time 3rd person got food etc. Would have been nice to get it at the same time. But excellent value and great place. Like I say, normally excellent service and atmosphere.
Service was average at best, they didn’t have any roast potatoes left so offered salad instead to go with roast dinner. Pizza was nice but quite bready.
Great eggs Benedict with a nicely lemony hollandaise sauce.
We go there mainly for breakfast on Sundays. Great food, friendly staff and authentic place.
Way too noisy- nice food and so was service. They need carpet and acoustic panels to soak us some sound- also rather cold if h sit near pizza ovens as air con is there even in a cold evening...
The food was good, but coffees and brunch took a good half hour to get to us, and after our meals had been brought out.
Always a safe bet for a good meal. Salmon was disappointingly dry this time. Hopefully just a one-off glitch.
Good ambience, good food, and service wasn't too bad either. Great tenderloin pork dish!
Amazing food as always. Great atmosphere, and super friendly staff.
The belly of pork was excellent, soft and moist and avoided being overly fatty - a common letdown. There're only about 3 main wood fired oven dishes to choose but don't worry about choice - you can instead mix the starters with vegetable side dishes to create a 'tapas' style meal for yourself or to share; I've never had a disappointing one. Of course, pizza is available - pretty good but it's on the other dishes where the kitchen excels What stands out here is the quality and care put into the cooking. My partner and I dislike virtually all chain restaurants but PE (and sometimes Côte Brasserie) puts most similarly priced independent restaurants in the shade - it manages to feel like a truly local and independent restaurant. Less formally, at the Kentish Town restaurant there's a lovely Italian/Spanish style rustic bar where you can order charcuterie and cheese.
always good! love this place, it's out neighbourhood local and never disappoints!
I came here two years ago and it was ok, we re-visited again and to be honest I was not happy at all with the food, the pizza selection is poor to say the least for a pizza restaurant, but what’s worse is the pizzas really are terrible, on mine the topping was so sloppy it literally fell off my pizza, and my partners pizza was so dry it was like the Sahara desert.
The starters were ok but we were very disappointed in the pizzas, and to be honest for what it was it was extremely expensive, I wouldn’t come here again.
Like all the branches of a Pizza East Kentish Town is great, wonderful vibe, friendly service and good food - a definite good choice
