About Piropos Restaurant
The taste of Argentina is very American Midwestern. The foods of its capital city, Buenos Aires, are steaks, grilled meats, seafood, fresh salads and vegetables. Argentineans enjoy dining in a generally relaxed atmosphere where conversation and gracious dining go hand-in-hand. Piropos Restaurant, on the hill in Briarcliff Village, offers a unique view, warm atmosphere and fresh foods prepared in the Argentinean style. ***PLEASE NOTE: WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS PIROPOS CANNOT RESERVE WINDOW TABLES. THEY MAY BE REQUESTED UPON ARRIVAL, BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. Thank you.

Piropos Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We went during Restaurant Week. So needless to say extremely busy. But we were seated at exactly our reservation time and all courses went smoothly. The food was excellent. I had the Ribeye and the other guests had the salmon. All of us were very happy with the presentation and flavor of our meals. Very much recommend the restaurant.
From Reservation to coffee, everything went perfectly for my sister's birthday dinner. It was a great double date night out! The food is exceptional here! I love seafood, my husband loves steak, we both shared bites from each other's plates and thought wow-every bit was amazing!!
It has a romantic atmosphere so you can get dolled up (sis and I are girly girls) or you can stay casual and fit right in too. I like having a place where you can really be spoiled--Piropos is it!
We had a 7:30 reservation. When we arrived (on time), we were told it would be at least 8 before they could seat us. We were not, in fact, seated until 8:40, over an hour from our original reservation. No updates were given during our wait. Many other customers were over an hour behind as well. Food was fairly good, but not worth the wait. They were out of multiple things on the featured menu. Space felt crowded and a quite loud. No apologies were ever made for our wait until we were leaving and our server simply handed us a coupon. The coupon was for $20 off our next visit, which would be nice, except it had to be used on the purchase of 2 entrees ($30+ each) after 5pm. In a scenario where most parties in the restaurant had waited well past their reservations, I would have expected a manager making the rounds and amends that didn’t cost us more money to use. I do not think we will be back.
Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were seated at 8:50. It took a very long time to to order and they were out of certain items by the time We ordered. They cooked our steaks wrong. It we were so hungry we ate them.
The food was very good. But no one even apologized for how long it took. We ended up leaving at 10:45. We were disappointed.
We were disappointed in the service. May have been due to Restaurant Week but our wine glasses sat empty while we waited for the wine list to order a second bottle (we had to ask - it
wasn't offered). And entrees were delivered before salads were finished which is my pet peeve. My friend had the same meal but her portion was literally twice as big as mine.
Attended on Friday January 12th for Restaurant week. Seated a few minutes early by the fireplace which was nice on this cold night. We both ordered the stuffed salmon with crab as our entree. Extremely tasty. Starter was crab bisque and dessert we opted for creme brulee. All choices proved to be the correct ones. Very satisfying meal. Only issue was the noise level. Very hard to have a conversation on this night.
I have been to Piropos several times. I am sad to say this was the worst. The waiter was really the issue...reaching in front of me to refill water without warning or announcing himself. The courses (even dessert) would come out and be placed while I wasn nowhere close to finishong the salad or entree. In the beginning the waiter was very intrusive then after our meal courses staryed arriving we were left waiting for the check never mind another drink! The risotto was so thick and clumped up and my rare lamb chops were blue. The salad and pumpkin bread dessert were amazing and on par with the Piropos I have enjoyed in the past.
We always enjoy our meals at Piropos! We usually visit them during Restaurant Week, as we did this past weekend, and on other occasions through the year. When we're really lucky, we get the table in front of the window looking south for a view of KC's downtown airport and the downtown KC skyline at sunset. On a cold winter's evening, it is beautiful to watch the sun set and the city lights come on. The food, as always, was over the top delicious. That is truly what keeps us returning again and again. Restaurant Week included a rib eye steak and two fish entrees. The steak was tender and flavorful and very very good. Our one disappointment was that churros were not a dessert option on the Restaurant Week menu! That would have made the dinner perfect.
The food was wonderful! There were a few changes that disappointed me. A bread basket is no longer available at lunch. As I recall, the basket contained different rolls, bread sticks etc. Our waitress told us it is now baked fresh and available only at dinner. Since many of the lunch items are only smaller portions of the dinner offerings, it seems right that bread, etc should be included. Also, I have celebrated mine and others birthdays over the years. Until this dining occasion, any dessert was allowed. Only two offerings were made and neither was appealing but I chose one and shared. I can understand not offering an expensive alternative but many of them are virtually the same price or only differ by a dollar. If it's a special event, I think Piropos should accommodate their wishes.
I'll still return but hopefully these cost cutting measures will disappear.
The food was great, as always. The staff was friendly but we made a reservation for a larger party and ended up waiting 35 minutes for the previous party to finish up their feast. The table cloth behind us almost burst into flames when a candle was left on the chair but it was an overall amazing experience. I will definitely come back with family and friends!
A beautiful seating for a special evening celebrating our anniversary! It was a relaxed dinner, not rushing us that was cooked to perfection with elegance of a place setting. The food selection was diverse and would meet anyone needs or wants. It was a lovely evening and look forward to our next visit.
The food was delicious! I felt it was slightly over priced for potato’s and steak but I walked away full and it was very good. My husband had the pork chops and it was more food for the price- also delicious. The table we were sat at was freezing and we had reservations at 9, arrived early and weren’t seated til 15 after. That’d be the only two complaints that are slightly under their control.
Awesome place for New Year's Eve dinner. Made reservations for 8 to celebrate Argentine New Year. Very festive with champagne glasses at every table as the entire restaurant toasted the New Year
Even though it took awhile to be seated and there was a huge crowd, it was well worth the wait.
James was our server and was awesome. Attentive and detail oriented.
One of the best romantic dinners I have ever had
We LOVED Piropos! We went for New Years Eve but had been there before. The restaurant always has excellent food and excellent service. I have never left with any complaints! One of my favorites is their stuffed chicken! I would definitely recommend to friends and family!
First visit here. Was surprised to get a reservation same day on NYE but we needed an earlier dinner before meeting friends. Not at all disappointed. Empanadas, halibut, milanesa beef tenderloin, banana cake and flan were all excellent. We'll be back for another special occasion to try more of the menu!
Typically a sure bet but for good food, but New Years Eve was a different story. My wife and I ordered the peppercorn filet, cooked medium well and both arrived medium rare. My baked potato was not cooked and delivered with sour cream which I didn't order. The filet was returned to be cook a more, but returned just as it was sent back. I'm not sure if New Years Eve was the problem, but not what we expect from Piropos.
We have gone to Piropos for many years now. We used to consider it one of the best in town. I am sad to say the quality is not as wonderful as it used to be. The bar was amazing though! Loved the appetizer, but our main dish was lacking. Next trip will only be for a drink and maybe an appetizer.
