- Smaller portions.
- Higher prices (or looks like it.)
- The only rice or potato substitutions they do is spinach, not even grilled veggies.
- Annoying reggaeton background music.
- They give you the check with tip suggestions of 20, 23 or 25% instead of the usual 15, 18 or 20%
I love this cozy little Peruvian restaurant. It looks casual but the food is really at a high standard. They can cook authentic Peruvian dishes with an updated twist. Loved the ceviche of red snapper, the fried mushrooms, the corn cake. Everything was done quickly & with a sweet attitude. I'll go back!
This is a fun, low lighting, intimate restaurant in Bernal. The service is very good. And the wine selection was very good as well. Not big portions - it's Tapas - but very good Tapas.
Delightful neighborhood gem. Almost want to keep it a secret, it’s that good.
Great! Food is amazing. Great place for casual and delicious dinner
It was FANTASTIC in everyway.....wonderful waiter and staff, a lovely intimate table in the back in the heated covered outside area, the food was absolutely delicious.... still thinking about the ceviche mixto and pescado I ordered, so fresh and perfectly made. Looking forward to returning for more!!!!
We came for valentines day and I understand that means things are challenging. We ended up waiting almost an hour after our reservation for a table, and once seated, nobody came to check in us. Nearly 15 minutes passed before we even received water. We finally placed our orders about 90 minutes after our reservation time. The food was all very spicy, much spicier than what we experienced in Peru when we went last year. Nobody ever asked us how the food was. We will definitely not be returning - more because of the service than the food. I understand that things are busy on valentines day, but we go out to feel special and the staff made us feel like we were an imposition by being there, and not like it was a special day at all. Overall, incredibly disappointing.
Piquoes is quite the Jewel! The Food is outstanding! The Service is great!!
Consistently superb tapas and sangria our go to place for celebrations and get togethers with friends. Cuisine and presentation always outstanding and the service friendly and fun. Prices reasonable and atmosphere lively!
Food was amazing. Service was really good, although they did kind of forget about us because the only table was in a room that was otherwise reserved for a big party that we weren't a part of. But everything we ate was fantastic
Great service. All of the cooked food was amazing. One diner who had the civiche got an upset stomach afterwards. Will go back though. Everything else was great.
Everything was delicious!
This was my second time and I’ll be back again.
I've been coming to Piqueos for many years -- probably since they opened in 2007. Love to bring friends who have never dined here before. Everyone always leaves very happy. Consistently great food. Great service. I don't think I've ever been served a dish that was just 'ok'. Great place for a group to share small plates. Ceviche is one of their staples. But lots of great choices to select from. On this latest visit with two friends we shared two different Ceviche dishes, Hongos (mushrooms), Anticuchones (Chicken skewers), Pulpito Bebe (Octopus), and a Crab Cake. All so delicious and savory. Beautifully presented. Washed them down with a pitcher of Sangria. And finished off with two desserts -- Suspiro a la Limena and a Passion Fruit Panna Cotta. My friends and I were very happy.
The food was great - we just unfortunately ordered too many items that were quite heavy, so we should have asked more questions.
The only comment on service is that the food plates came too fast - wish it was timed out more. It all came way to fast and seemed to rush us.
However, the food and wine here are really good so we love having this place in the neighborhood.
This restaurant was unfortunately a disappointment. The portions are small and in general overpriced. The worst part though was the service. Our server was rude and went on his break half way through our meal and didn’t have anyone cover our table. He was short with us when we asked questions and got frustrated when we weren’t ready to order. The food was tasty, but not worth the price and the service made it all the more unenjoyable.
I love this place! It’s the best in the city, excellent food and great service
First time there but I’ll be back. Everything Wes very flavorful
We love this place! Every time the service, food and ambiance is fantastic. We are so happy to have this a neighborhood local.
Thoroughly recommend the quinoa crusted prawns, and braised short ribs.
This is a cozy place with excellent Peruvian food. Dishes are always freshly made. Great spice and taste without heat. We love their Lomo Saltado and pork and mashed sweet potato entrees. Lots of great small plates as well.
Great food, would come back anytime. The service was wonderful
The food was delicious.
The noise level sometimes was extreme.
We are planning to come back but trying to figure out when would be a quieter time.
Cute neighborhood restaurant with delicious food. The service was great and the food was sooo tastey. I am ready to go back
Delicious meal with very high quality ingredients, especially the seafood. Interesting preparations with attractive presentations. Contemporary setting with character. Wait staff pleasant and helpful. We were able to linger over our meal with family from different parts of the Bay Area.
Yum! Ceviche starter with a little bit of heat and cool with the Yam was absolutely delicious! One of those places you can’t help watching what everyone else is eating because - yum! Desert was a perfect finish with a hint of caramel. A definite do again!
It was excellent, per usual.
Food was good. Love their ceviche. Note they consider a party of five a large table and they add an automatic 20% service charge. I've never thought a table for five was large...
I've been to Piqueos on many occasions, special celebrations as well as just a dinner out. I have never been disappointed by the quality of the food, service or environment. If anything, they seem to be better each time I go for dinner.
I love piqueos, the food is delicious and the service amazing
Excellent food. Servers were very pleasant, but the service was a little choppy and slowed down as our meal progressed.
Everything was just ok. The ceviche was ok, the quinoa prawns were ok, duck quesadilla ok-too much cheese. The beef short rib was pretty good
we chose piqueos based on the on-line menu. unfortunately that items we went for were not on the menu.
there were no specials for the night and a couple of items on the menu that we ordered were also not available.
Wonderful evening with friends
Wait staff charming and helpful
It was really delicious, Authentic peruvian food. We enjoyed everything .
Management: great - the manager was very attentive and had a great energy and attitude
Noise level: like a construction site. Have to shout to be heard.
Ambiance: Very Latin.
Would I come back: yes. I know what to expect.
Great food. Great service. Nice casual atmosphere. Fun place!
Quaint restaurant in a cool little neighborhood. Food was OK but the service was great.
As always, the food was exceptional and the service was friendly. They might have been short staffed because the service was unusually slow.
On my suggestion, two friends took me to dinner at Piqueos. We were all impressed with the food and excellent service.
The food and service was great! I will definitely come back!
