Really great spot. Just wish we were seated separate from other guests when the place was otherwise empty. But. Honestly, no big deal. It was a great place. Will definitely go back.
Pippali was good, but nothing stood out as great. Given the high reviews I expected more flavor, more depth but really just felt like a somewhat average Indian restaurant. It was clean and bright. No complaints, just nothing memorable either.
The waiter was rude and openly disrespectful and they added 20% service charge to the bill for four people or up but they don’t say that anywhere. And they wouldn’t change it.
One of the best Indian restaurants in nyc.
Great Indian food. good portions, adequately priced. Authentic and delicious.
It is one of the go to places for Indian food. Saffron flavored chicken- done in Tandoor is always good. Other favorites are biryanis and naan. All the saucy vegetables are very good as well. Cocktails are interesting!
Our favorite restaurant in the city!
My first time eating Indian cuisine and I can honestly say it was amazing. The staff was very attentive and informative on different entrees. Looking forward to returning.
Our first time here, and the service was excellent! Wait-staff was attentive and accommodating. The cuisine was a gastronomic symphony of delicious Indian flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant. Tip try to make reservations by 7pm it’s gets very busy after 7:30.
Good for Indian food. Their dishes are tasteful and flavorful
Great choice for trying Filipino food.
Amazing food. Loved the curry choices. Birthday meal with the whole family.
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend
I've been for dinner a few times, bringing new people with me. Everyone has enjoyed it each time and my newest friend who joined me last week thought it was great. We got a variety of appetizers and main courses (the lamb shank was good but a little tough). The mushrooms were excellent. I don't get over to the East 20s often but when I'm in the area, Pippali is at the top of my list.
Service and ambiance are fine, but the food is amazing at a reasonable price. Wholeheartedly recommend
Very tasty food in generous portions. Would not hesitate to go back.
Overall wonderful dinner at Pippali
Food is the best and returned because of that (was there 2 years ago and so glad Pippali is still there!)
Only issue was the air conditioning level not always consistent
The jackfruit biryani was the best biryani I've ever had.
Daniel was a wonderful server—allowed us to stay longer than allowed. Very sweet and the food was delicious!
Very good Indian restaurant, tasty, not so spicy
Really a good choice
Service was awful. Will not go back.
Really nice authentic Indian food, portion sizes were very generous and the butter chicken in particular was really tasty. Will be back.
Everything delicious, with varied tastes, from the potato patties app (a bit spicy) to the mushrooms app to the delicious chicken, spinach and cheese, and eggplant dishes. Plentiful portions with rice; and a very tasty Pinot Gris. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. This was our second time and we will be back.
Best Indian food and outstanding service!
Dined here a few times already and have never been disappointed.
Variety of interestng menu choices, well prepared. One of the better choices in Curry Hill neighborhood.
Food & service were quite good. A very nice place to dine & have a satisfying Indian meal.
I have been a few times but this visit won't make me go back. The paneer makhni was overwhelmingly sweet with no variance in flavour or texture at all. Lamb seekh kabab was passable but it was very red as if there was a tandoori paste mixed into the meat. Expensive for what we got.
Pippali is the best Indian food I have had in NYC!
This was my second time Not as good as the first one. Surly waitress- don’t sit in the back right corner. The male servers are lovely. This woman is not service oriented.
The decor is good enough. It’s all about the food, right ??
Crab cakes probably were not a good choice but I thought they’d be prepared differently. Not my top ten.
The garlic naan bread is ten stars!!!!
Stay tuned. I’ll give it one more try.
Great food. Excellent service.
First time there, although it's right in my neighborhood. I was impressed with the appearance of the restaurant, the service and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back.
The weekend thali is limited and insufficient for its price. The naan, however, is unlimited. That doesn't help if I have nothing to eat it with.
The food was amazing. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations. We’ve been several times and we keep coming back. Cocktails were creative and tasty.
The place was overcrowded with tables at a very close distance to each other. We made a reservation and yet we’re seated right next to the kitchen where the waiters were bringing out the food onto our faces each time. The waitress we had, has such bad attitude. We ordered for jack fruit biryani and clearly it was meat because we could see a bone in it and when we asked our waitress even looking at it she just said it was jack fruit. As person who has eaten it in past I know that jack fruit cannot become as hard as plastic even in cooking . It was clearly meat and that’s the worst thing one can do to a religious vegetarian.
Overall experience was not so pleasant. The started were really tasty and so were the parathas but the biryani ticked it off. They replaced our biryani when we asked another waiter for it and he took it inside to check if it was jack fruit or not and then just replaced ours with just vegetables .
This was not what we were looking forward to from a Michelin star restaurant.
Went in with high hopes but would not recommend going there again. We could have got better value for money was our final feeling about the place .
Was overcrowded and didn't seem to have control of reservations.
An absolutely AWFUL experience; I have no clue what other reviewers saw in this place. First we got put in lousy location, despite asking for a different table.
The we ordered 2 appetizers that we couldn't eat - the stuffed peppers tasted like soap water, and a chicken appetizer came out cold and uncooked!
Then the waiter said he would take it off the bill, but of course, he didn't
I have told all my friends to STAY AWAY from this place, and we did put in a negative review on YELP.
The restaurant is cute, nice service and the food was quite tasty! Nice place to stumble into on a really cold night.
Their service is not the great but overall food was good.
