It was a wonderful experience. A gem in Manhattan’s Little India. Food was yummy and authentic. Service was attentive and accommodating. My only observation is tgat some dishes were extremely spicy , difficult to ear and enjoy. Next time I will ask for milder versions.
Declicious food, nice staff and good value
Food and service is excellent. Low level music so easy to talk - great place to take mother in law on her visit.
We use to come here for years, couldn’t be more disappointed by the new menu!
Excellent chicken biryani and actually it tasted even better the next day (as leftovers) because by that point the spices had really come together. Fishermans catch also really good, with a lot of seafood. Large portions. Wait staff very pleasant and helpful in answering questions. I can't wait to return.
Attentive service by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cuisine was awesome. Will def be going back.
Decent food, very nice service. I appreciate that it is also clean.
Great value for money - delicious thali lunch with many options for 16 dollars and generous pours to the wines by the glass.
I've been here multiple times and enjoyed it each and every time. The food and service is spot on.
Her dish good, mine not so much.
Okay restaurant overall, for what it is and rather expensive, it can really do with an update. It's Winter and very cold in NYC and the heating was not working and people are sitting having meals with their coats on, my wife was Freezing and complained to me that the bar lady at the till section near door had a heater on bit it should have been for the Clients. This really should have been fixed. The food however is Good and portions are generous but for the price it would be expected. An entry level bottle of Wine will set you back $45 so add tax and tips, dining for 2 can cost $120 Plus...combined with the dated wallpaper and seating and no ambiance I would not recommend this restaurant unless it was a last resort.
Great food. They do volume here, so be prepared for a full restaurant.
We had trouble when we got there, as we had a reservation and told we had to wait, but the party of 3 that came in after us (without a reservation) were immediately sat. After waiting 10 minutes while there was a large open table available, we complained and were immediately sat. After this experience the night was great, but it just started everything off on the wrong foot.
Tasty Indian food in Curry Hill. Loved all our food. Our cocktails were ok (sounded inventive but weren’t really special).
Delicious food, excellent service, good prices! We will eat there again and tell our friends about our experience.
We discovered this lovely restaurant quite by accident, and we were so happy! This spotlessly clean, little place has the most delicious Indian food...and a happy hour on Sunday evening from 5-7pm (half price wines, beers, & some cocktails)! The food was a bit spicy...BUT we love spicy!! The Tandoori chicken was wonderful & the garlic Naan was so good, we ordered seconds! The portions were very generous, which made sharing easy. We enjoyed excellent service (it was early and not crowded) and the staff was very accommodating. We would definitely go back again!
Pippali always meets the high expectations I’ve come to expect from dining with them. The service is always warm and friendly. The food is always delicious and good portions. Great for groups, dates, parties. Once you have tried Pippali you will be returning over and over.
Great Indian food
Very authentic Indian food. Good value for lunch menu.
The food was outstanding the service was fair but not pleasant good enough but not someplace I would return to for dinner.
I dine every time I come to nyc. It never disappoints
The food was good, but they had a limited selection of fish/seafood dishes.
Real chef Indian restaurant. Definitely not of the “one sauce covers all” format all too common in the US. Lamb Vindaloo was outstanding—tender, you could taste the lamb—spicy yet complex. A really good dish.
The food was absolutely spectacular. I'm so happy
I decided to try this restaurant out. It did get a bit noisy, but that didn't take away from the delicious food. I will definitely be coming back!
The Indian food is one of the best in the cities. I have been going there for years and the quality has not deteriorated. The manager is very helpful and obliging. I highly recommend this place I take all my guests there, and they immediately become fans of the place. The Goat Biryani main dish, the Hari Mirch and Squid appetizers are my favorite staples.
Food and service are fantastic; however noise level was unbearable due to two large tables. It's infuriating why diners can't be more considerate. This is not a playground, it's a fancy restaurant. Don't yell at the top of your lungs when people are trying to enjoy a nice meal and a quiet conversation!
Food is always good. Scallops were done perfect! Saffron chicken we soft and flavorful.
Best Indian food so far on NYC! Service was slow at times and a bit inattentive, but you go for the great dishes - saag, biryani and goat were all excellent! Should upgrade their wine selection. Owner did make efforts to be sure we enjoyed our dinner which we did! Will return!
Room is one large room with two and four tops on the sides and one largelong table in the center.
When we got there only the side tables were taken but we were glad to be done eating when a party of 15 took over the place.
We had two chats and our main was yellow lentils. The food is good.
Only one friendly man greeted us. The waitstaff was sullen.
So many places to eat in the area we would not return
I was positively surprised. I don't consider myself a great fan of Indian food, but this restaurant offers a really tasty lunch with an assortment of appetizers and dishes for less than $16. Proper setting, typical Indian music and accent. I will come again.
