Pino's Contemporary Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
Pino's is a small neighborhood eatery tucked away in Pittsburgh's popular East End neighborhood of Point Breeze. We have 19 tables and 10 seats at the comfortable bar where you will often find regulars from the neighborhood and new guests enjoying dinner and drinks. With a warm decor of Italian mosaic tabletops, rich woods and colors, Pino's is a welcoming spot where Executive Chef & Owner Joseph "Pino" Mico proves there's more to Italian cuisine than just red sauce. Here you will find a merging of creative interpretations of the Italian classics as well as Mediterranean cuisine that is thoughtful and complex. Please be sure to view our most curent menu offering on our website at : www.chefpino.com
I don’t want you to like Pino’s because it is one of my favorite restaurants. If you discover its exquisite creative menu and friendly atmosphere, you’ll be there making it harder for me to get a table. When you do get in my way, the lobster and shrimp pasta is delicious.
Dinners always delicious. Service is always great.
Ate at bar
Bartender was excellent
Mary was terrific. Joe was fantastic to talk with. This is our destination place.
Excellent wine recommendations, great food and service!
Pino's never fails to deliver the best quality food in a welcoming setting. I cannot say enough about this gem! Chef Pino takes the time to visit each table to say hello. The staff is pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. If you are looking for a delicious meal, give Pino's a try. You will not be disappointed!!!
Loved everything about it. It’s our new go to for a date!
We like to walk to Pino's, our neighborhood restaurant. Food is great. The staff is friendly. Very satisfying.
Excellent garlic bread. Beans and greens did not as much flavor as I wished. Caesar salad was fine but expensive at $8 or $9. The white clam linguine was excellent. It was perfectly prepared. The Orichette with broccoli was well cooked. However, the broccoli was yellowish rather than green. Lacked eye appeal. Also, it needed more garlic or something. It didn’t have punch. If you want cheese, you need to ask for it. The ambience is great-like a NYC restaurant w/o all of the hustle. The chef came and talked to us and made us feel good. The server was a minimalist in speech. She gave us everything we asked for and otherwise left us alone. I would definitely go here again but I wouldn’t get the orichette
Another excellent meal. Love their homemade pasta.
Love this restaurant....
Local, great food, staff, & service
Very friendly waitstaff. We went on a Friday early evening getting there at 4:30 PM small but noise level was not bad at that time. Had white clam with homemade pasta very good. Lemon cello it was also tasty very light.
Absolutely great food and service. Try the flank steak; you'll love it.
We had a reservation for 7 people and got there a little early. They still seated us quickly. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was delicious especially the homemade pasta. We went on a Wednesday night and got one of the reasonably priced wine specials. Had a great time.
Having been to Pino's quite a few times was looking forward to another dinner here with out of town guests, but this time the experience was subpar. We were a large group which may have contributed but service was indifferent and food not as good as past experiences. Hoping it was just an off night.
Small place, bustling atmosphere, noise level is high with tight space for a table of 4 people. Excellent and innovative small plate menu. Service was a bit subpar...waitress did not refill water without being asked and did not offer pepper with salads.
This has become our go to spot for a great meal. The whole family loves the food. The service is always good and it never disappoints. It is more expensive than the average dinner but given the quality, I’d rather spend a little more to have a great experience.
Our first time at Pino's. The food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. We had questions about the wine selection and one of the owners took time to explain each selection. We traveled through tunnels and over bridges to dine at Pino's. We will definitely venture there again.
Truly a neighborhood gem. The dining experience one can look forward to at their visit to Pino's transcends the excellent meal they will be served. There's a very familiar and friendly atmosphere where the staff and the owners truly go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome and that all is the best it can be for you. The only thing that both puzzles me, and that I'm secretly grateful for, is that more people haven't realized just how over the top good this place is. The line should be out the door and down the street with people hoping a table will soon clear. Thanks again to Joe and Jen for their hard work on all of your patron's behalf.
Fantastic experience. Amazing food, great service. The portions were very generous, and the price was great. We stopped in randomly for a bite to eat and fell in love with the place. This is an absolute find. Do yourself a favor and go here. You won't regret it.
Great neighborhood gathering place. Joe is an excellent chef!
Always a delicious meal. Great service
Excellent food, friendly service!
We recently returned to pinos after a long hiatus and found that it had completely changed for the better. The food was much better, the prices were reasonable, and the service had impoved leaps and bounds. A real turnaround. We loved it and are excited to return. In contrast to Point Brugge, its competitor, they take reservations,a valuable adjunct. We have found a new restaurant for our list of go to places.
Place to go for authentic italian food. Must try to home made pasta. I had squid ink risotta with scallops.
Old salad and found a piece of stainless steel wool pad in our pasta
Fantastic waitress (Angelia). Great bartender (Mary). Food average, at best. Great decour. Average.
Chef Joe is an outstanding chef. His featured menu for the week is always new and exciting and delicious!
Our first time here. Superb food and wonderful atmosphere.
Awesome food, great service !
We've probably eaten at Pino's 20 times and have always had excellent food and service. There's a reason we keep going back!
Lovely place with good food. Service was good and the food excellent. The tables are close, so a little challenging to have a private conversation. A little pricey for pasta but overall a very positive experience
Always a great dinner at Pino’s!
Little disappointed. This was the third time dining at Pino’s in recent months. It was Valentine’s Day, so perhaps part of the issues, 6 different things we tried to order were not available (SOLD OUT) and we had a 7PM reservation. The special Valentine’s menu posted on the website was not the special menu that was offered at the restaurant. Was told a couple of staff members left at 2PM that day so they just didn’t have the staff to make everything.. hmmm... bottles of wine the same thing... out of stock.. Will try again on a week night and hope for a better outcome.
It was a fantastic meal as always! This is a top choice for special occasions. We hope to add it to the usual restaurants for everyday meals as well. The staff is friendly and accurate. Their tap lines froze (the weather wasn't cooperating), but they had lots of other drink options to enjoy.
Pinos did a great job of treating us to a nice valentines day dinner. My wife and I were not rushed, wine recommendations were appreciated, and all of the food was prepared and presented well, in addition to being delicious. The handmade pasta is a favorite! It was nice to have a less busy, lower volume spot for a dinner like this. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. Will definitely be back!
Food was amazing. I got the Sole fish with risotto and asparagus. It was probably the best food I’ve ever had. Good stuff.
