Chef Joe and the food are a combination that can’t be beat. Unfortunately service was poor and rushed. I am writing this in hopes that it is addressed as Pino’s deserves recognition in all other categories.

Went to Pino’s for the first time to celebrate my birthday and had an awesome experience! The food was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. We ordered the baked olives, fried calamari, and bean & greens to start. They also provide complimentary fresh baked bread. The fried calamari had to be the best calamari I’ve ever had. Incredibly fresh and delicate without any hint of rubberiness. For our mains, our table got the bronzed salmon over roasted vegetable farro which was both beautiful looking and delicious. We also ordered the lobster and seafood pasta which came in a light cream sauce - not too heavy. The homemade pasta was a treat. We wrapped up the meal with a special dessert they were offering of puff pastry, lemon mascarpone cream, and fresh berries. Will definitely be back!
This neighborhood gem more than met my expectations. Food was great with homemade pasta like my nonna's.
The service was very good, the ambiance was calming. Great place to meet with friends or have dinner with your spouse.
Limited seating- would recommend reservations part. On weekends.
For the prices of the meals, the portions are extremely small and unfulfilling

Hidden gem, made to order sauces and house made pasta. Small dinning room, but not loud when full. You can taste the quality and love out into every dish. Will be back for sure!!
Seated near front door, felt chilly all night. Calamari was ok, very salty. A little pricey , bolognese $25....not sure if we would return
We enjoyed another tremendous meal courtesy of Joe and Jen. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the owners and staff are hands on, engaged and sincerely interested in making the time you spend there memorable. If you haven't tried it I'd highly recommend it. It will please all diners including the most discriminating. Pino's defines the phrase "neighborhood gem".
There was a wine-tasting on one side of us when we got there and kids dressed for a winter formal on the other, but our service did not suffer, and the chef brought out a special appetizer to make up for any inconvenience. This was a warm, welcoming dining experience, and the food was very good. We will be back.

Our server was very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is cozy. Appetizers of calamari and Italian fries were both delicious. The bread and dipping oil were fantastic. Our pizza Bianca was average and my husband said he liked his bolognese. I guess our main issue were the desserts. The chocolate mousse was watery, probably because of the berries on top. The homemade ice cream with caramel sauce had great flavor, but the texture made it taste like it may have been pre-scooped into the serving bowls. We were most dissatisfied with the red velvet ice cream cake. It was served right out of the freezer and was hard as a rock. The chef even came by and asked if it was too hard to eat, as half of it was still a solid frozen mass on my husbands plate. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but it was a $12 dessert. I incorrectly assumed they would take it off the bill - alas, they did not. So the night ended on a sour note. Oh well. Overall, very nice staff (bartender included) - but we probably won't go back.
Fantastic food that is clearly prepared with love and precision. The chef came out after to ensure everything was to our liking. Will return and will recommend to all my friends. Hands down the best Italian food I’ve had in Pittsburgh.

Food could’ve been better. Service was amazing, just wasn’t getting a big flavorful explosion from the food.
We had a dinner reservation during restaurant week. My bourbon cocktail was really delicious. They were overbooked so we sat at bar but that was no problem. The bar stools were comfy and the bartender was outstanding. Very skilled and friendly and hard working.
I had eggplant rollatini with Cassaeete. The sauce was so delicious I ate the whole huge plate, as was the eggplant and pasta. The Cree brûlée was so good I had no trouble finishing it. The watercress salad with apples was good - it could have used more apples though as it was 90% watercress. My husband enjoyed his as well.

Never a bad experience at Pino’s. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the wine selection- everything is excellent.
As always the food is excellent. Owners do a great job and always greet the people and the chef always checks on how people are enjoying the food.
Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Made my birthday celebration quite nice.
My husband and I decided to try Pino's for restaurant week. We ordered two items specifically not on their main menu - the eggplant rollatini and the rustic cod (both came with a salad and dessert due to restaurant week). Both meals were really good! My rollatini could have had a little more seasoning with the sauce, but I would definitely get it again (I cleared my plate) - and my husband really liked the rustic cod option.

I thought the food and service was great! We were greeted by Alexa and she was very warm and very good in serving.
One minor point was from the appetizer to the main course it seemed to take a little longer than expected but the food was GREAT.
The pate bruschetta was good

Beans and greens - excellent.

My wife and I went to Pino’s for New Year’s Eve dinner. Open Table reservation worked great and we were seated promptly. Food was good, not great. We had the endive salad (very tasty ), lobester ravioli soup (a bit bland), filet (prepared in slices with very creamy scalloped potatoes), pan seared duck (outstanding) and the ice cream bowl (who can beat vanilla ice cream with bourbon caramel sauce). Service was amateur. Our waitress was not very attentive and we needed to remind her to follow up on things such as our cocktail order. Atmosphere is uninspired; a neighborhood gathering spot with no music but a TV at the bar. This restaurant is a step away from being really memorable. The waitress told us that they are known for their pastas and pizzas. We would make a return visit to try those specialties.
Enjoyed a wonderful meal for New Year's Eve. The food was excellent, the service was very, very good (especially for a major holiday and special event (it was a full house) and atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, even with a full house. Looking forward to our next meal at Pino's.

My family ate there as a last minute option for New Years eve. Service was attentive and polite. there was a chef's menu that wasn't going to work for my son, and I had to ask if we could order off of the regular menu - which we could, but I was surprised it wasn't presented as an option. None the less, the food was really good and different from what you see at the chain restaurants. A little bit pricey ($20 for a Personal Pizza), but I think the ingredients are better than many other places and I like to support the local business anyway. We would definitely go back.

This place is awesome. The atmosphere is great, the staff was great and the food I was excellent. We had a great time celebrating my wife’s birthday here. All of the staff was extremely attentive to our every needs. Alexa is a great waitress and took exceptionally good care of everyone at our table. We will definitely be returning for another great experience and meal. P.S. Mary is the one to ask if you have ANY questions about wine!!
I love the warmth of this restaurant. I am always cold, and this restaurant serves up cozy fare in a cozy atmosphere. My only beef is the expense of the wine. I am not a connoisseur, and always ask for a house wine. The waitress seemed confused and said she would ask the bartender. She brought my daughter and me a (very small) glass of wine. I ordered a second glass -- it was also happy hour. When the bill arrived, it turned out the wine was $11/glass. Not my idea of an affordable house wine. Lesson learned.

We've come to Pino's about a half-dozen times this year...it has become one of our favorites. Great food and great service - always!
