Pino's Contemporary Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
Pino's is a small neighborhood eatery tucked away in Pittsburgh's popular East End neighborhood of Point Breeze. We have 19 tables and 10 seats at the comfortable bar where you will often find regulars from the neighborhood and new guests enjoying dinner and drinks. With a warm decor of Italian mosaic tabletops, rich woods and colors, Pino's is a welcoming spot where Executive Chef & Owner Joseph "Pino" Mico proves there's more to Italian cuisine than just red sauce. Here you will find a merging of creative interpretations of the Italian classics as well as Mediterranean cuisine that is thoughtful and complex. Pasta bolognese was outstanding!
A gem in any neighborhood, exceptional food and service in an accessible part of town that's calm and quiet. Care with all the dishes, including homemade pastas, made for superb meals with friends. Mary was manager for my 2 recent visits and her professionalism and grace brings an ease and joy to the whole evening. The decor is unassuming and space ample around tables, my only comment about the ambience is the bass notes sometimes add a small challenge to conversation, but management is responsive. I expect to be a frequent drop-in.
We had a lovely dinner w family. Service excellent! Food really good—all of us ordered different things and the flavors were great.
Excellent experience for our 30th wedding anniversary. The food and service were excellent.
What a great meal, we went for my moms birthday and everything was perfect! From the first course the mussels were the real stand out and we all had a different fresh made pasta for the main course. All the pasta was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed every last bite. We also had two small children and they were very accommodating to us! Do yourself a favor and eat here.
Chef and wife came to our table to speak introduce themselves. Great ambience. Chef’s wife is amazing.
Our go to dining spot. Always consistent--Always delicious
Another excellent meal. Can’t go wrong with any of the pasta dishes
Small, Quaint Italian Restaurant. Had great meal with an outstanding wine list. Mary was a very informed wine advocate. I'd go back anytime
Absolutely amazing food, drinks, and service! The attention and detail that Joe puts into his food, Jen puts into the restaurant, and their combined energy and talents is what sets Pino’s aside from other restaurants. If you want a top notch dining experience, this is the place to go!
Fantastic food, great service and pleasant environment. We are never disappointed!!
Great food and great service
Pasta dishes were good, but too expensive especially if you add meatballs, sausage or chicken. $18 for just the spaghetti is just too high for just flour and water and no great talent. Greens and beans were excellent. A nice place, just not worth a long trip of the money.
Food was amazing and service was top notch. A great little neighborhood spot. Be sure to make reservations as tables are limited.
Great food in a neighborhood type restaurant! Pino himself came to make sure our dinners were as we expected. Nice touch!
We were very pleased by our meal. We had baked olives, which were different and great. The pasta bellagio was special, and the choice of Italian wines was very interesting and good. Living in the neighborhood, we have watched the restaurant morph from a local eating place to a true food destination. The proprieters Joe and Jen are to be commended for a wonderful upscale Italian dining experience.
Another excellent meal. Can’t go wrong with any of the homemade pasta dishes
If you enjoy abysmal service and overly priced food, you will enjoy Pino’s
Cute neighborhood place run by nice people
Wonderful food & Service!
The wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. Mary was welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was great. The food was very good. The chairs/seating wasn’t the most comfortable!
What a great find. We'll be back. Service and food were exceptional.
Pleasant, ate outdoors. Yummy harvest salad and pumpkin squash.
Returned here after a long absence and now we are wondering why it took so long. This is that rarest of things, a genuine family restaurant with excellent food. We arrived early and had an outside table which can be a mixed blessing if it is on a busy street like some are but this is very quiet. Attentive service and great food. What more can you ask for a lovely summer evening
It was fabulous as usual. Tried the white Blanco flatbread. It was delicious. We usually get pasta, but were not disappointed. Love the wine sppecials.
We always enjoy Pino’s. Food, service, and drinks were excellent.
All the food was good except the white clam pasta. Had a strange taste. 3 people agreed. Will not order again.
This is our go to restaurant, especially for Italian food. Love the food and the staff. The wine list is great and sometimes there is pairing recommendations. Always recommend this spot to friends and those new to the area.
Thank you Norman! Glad you & your friends enjoyed your dinners!
After a recent trip to the Old Country, Chef Joe developed some new dishes that accurately reflect and compliment the Calabrian region. Haven't been here for awhile? Now's the time to go back and be reminded what a fantastic dining experience should feel like. The hospitality, service, quality and value you get are second to none. It seems that the number of restaurants that you would literally never tire of going to is getting to be fewer and fewer. In their place are one and done, cookie cutter, overpriced chains. Chef Pino's is the real deal. Try it and see.
Thank you Joe--it's always great having you both here! With so many dining options out there, we strive to do "what we do best!"
Excellent dinner experience. Staff were friendly, food was incredible, overall just great! Can’t wait to come back again!
Thank you Madeline! We look forward to having you back!
The bartender was fabulous. The food was just ok. My pasta was gooey for fresh noodles. The monkfish was good. Not what I expected for a long standing restaurant in the area.
Not a typical experience for one of our regular places. Food was excellent, but the first drink took way too long and we were completely done with our appetizer and cocktail and sat a while waiting to order our entree. Also , we had a reservation for two but we’re seated at an awkward table for five.
Food is excellent. Joe really knows what he’s doing. Jen makes sure everything is flowing smoothly and Mary, Liz and the rest provide efficient and friendly service.
very good menu selection--capable server--we enjoyed our experience
Welcoming staff - good food - excellent service
The food and service are always outstanding! It is my go to restaurant for Italian food!
Food always delicious. The cocktails, however, vary from excellent to poor. Need consistency in cocktails.
The restaurant was super cute and located in a neighborhood location but parking was a little rough. I went there to check it out because of restaurant week. We received our appetizer rather quick which was great.... then it took our food (no exaggeration) one hour after we sat down to come out. I started noticing people receiving their food who had been there longer than us just receiving their food maybe 5 minutes before ours. I understand it was restaurant week so things are a bit more hectic but it was somewhat unprofessional to not even receive a simple apology or acknowledgment that our food arrived so late and it was luke warm, not even hot.
Dinner was delicious as always.
