Pinnacle Restaurant - Falkner Winery Ratings and Reviews
On a Saturday afternoon we were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary and Pinnacle was recommended. We were showed to our table, given water and were more or les ignored for the next 10 minutes. The restaurant was fairly crowded and noisy almost beyond toleration. That was not unexpected however. The sea bass was ok and the seafood crepe was very doughy. We were ordering desert and mentioned it was our anniversary. That was complementary. We had noted a "special occasion " in our online reservation and when we checked in. They were in the process of setting up for a wedding and were anxious for the room to be cleared. We would not return anytime on a weekend, but might give another try at a less hectic time. Would never recommend this restaurant any time on a weekend.
Much louder than expected. Food was good, but our appetizers showed up about three minutes prior to our entrees. They took them back. Ten minutes later, they brought our original entrees back. They should have prepared then again. We won't be returning.
Server was not very friendly at all and bordered on rude.
We had lunch at The Pinnacle Restaurant, which gets high marks in reviews for its views. Well, it does sit on a little hill and looks down and across to the next little hill. The hills here are covered with desert chaparral and brush. In late fall now, these are all pretty dry and brown. So the view is nice and open, but at this time of year, not the prettiest. The food was good. The signature lobster mac and cheese was just ok IMO. It is in a brown (bacon?) cheese sauce instead of the expected light cheese sauce, and had a "different" taste- not what I was expecting. The shrimp caprese salad was very good, as was the Santa Barbara salad. The service was excellent. The wine list features the winery, of course, which we had sampled and enjoyed in the tasting room (The Temecula area doesn't produce great wines, but Faulkner's are very good among them).
My husband loves the octopus dish and I always enjoy the various other options I have been working my way through. We frequently bring friends who never fail to be impressed with the view, the service and the great food. Recommend highly when you want to treat yourself to a special dining experience.
We have been to Pinnacle restaurant several times before. The food is always exceptional, the view is amazing (somewhat reminds us of Tuscany) and there are many wine selections to go with any item on the menu. It was a quiet, relaxing lunch spot this time; in the past we have visited on a weekend and it has sometimes been too busy and energetic for us. LOVE THIS PLACE!
I have been to the pinnacle several times in the past for lunch with friends, we come here because they have tables, a nice view, great hamburgers and other dishes, good service and great wine. We also buy several bottles or wine before leaving. I only gone during the week when it's not too busy so we can talk. All and all myself and my friends agree it's a great place for lunch.
I have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. I have come with friends, and have brought friends. I have never had a problem with reservations and have always managed a window seat for my guests. The views of the vineyards and the valley from this vantage point are excellent.
The food, service, and ambiance are excellent. Staff are attentive, knowledgable and well-trained. They cater to your every need. I highly recommend this place for a romantic lunch or dinner.
BTW-I recommend that you become a Wine Club Member. The benefits are fabulous!
By far the best restaurant in wine country. We are from orange county and decided to do wine tasting in Temecula. We have been a few times, but we came across this gem. They have a new chef who prepares Mediterranean style food. We recommend the scallop small plate and the Baja Striped Seabass. My boyfriend had their special double bone in Duroc Pork chop..he absolutely loved it. Our server paired their Falkner wines with each course for us and we ended with their zinfandel port and house made chocolate divinity. The energy here is upbeat and the views are spectacular. It is so hot this time of year and we were very happy they offered air conditioning as most of the wineries dining is outside. We cant wait to come back next month for their Branzino Seabass specials!!
Sarah was our wonderful waitress... offered an avocado option so I could enjoy the salmon without corn. Recommended pairing with three white wine choices, and I am happy I went with her top recommendation. Everyone was catering to us...from the man that kept our water glasses full to the greeter that found a winery map for me. Blackened salmon perfect and the lava cake melts in your mouth. My third time there and I will be back again soon!
Very warm and welcoming. The view of the vineyards are Panoramic and beautiful. The food is outstanding we recommend the Scallop small plate and the Baja Striped Sea bass. We did wine pairing and ended with a homemade dessert with a Zinfandel port. We look forward to the next visit.
Waitress scary and abrupt.
I wanted to love this place because the tasting room and staff were so nice and very friendly and recommended it. But the restaurant was lacking. It seems like a place where the owners have lost interest and left the staff to their own devices. It has such potential and should be fully booked constantly given the location and view.
This experience for Mother's Day was an extreme disappointment. The music was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation. The music was also monotonous and somber. It was as if the pianist was playing the same depressing song over and over. Also, the food was a total disappointment. The food choices were few and it was not good. We walked away feeling taken advantage of. The buffet for four of us cost $300 not including tip. Not a good experience and certainly not worth the money. This was supposed to be a special Mother's Day for my 80-year-old mom who was in the hosptial for three weeks earlier this year. Quite a disappointment for all four of us. I do not recommend this place at all for any occasion.
The menue is broad, chicken, seafood, beef and vegetarian. I choose the Seafood Portifino, Sea Scallop Mac & Cheese, and Crunchy Brussel Sprouts paired with a white wine. The meal was fantastically delicious...!!! The service was excellent. I will visit the Pennical Restaurant in the future for the superb faire. Enjoy..!!
