Pine Tavern Restaurant
Quality food prepared well but service lacking and priced too high.
How many ways can you say "delicious." Our dining experience was grand. Thanks
Enjoy this restaurant every year when we vacation at Eagle Crest. We love to sit outside and enjoy the lovely view and river. This time because we had cooler weather we ate inside which wasn’t as delightful but we still had a great time and dinner was very good.
Excellent service and very good food. Enjoyed my meal and recommend.
We sat down at 6:30, main course arrived at about 7:30, not sure why it took so long, was not provided an explanation. Halibut was the special for the night, love halibut, it was under cooked. Mushy.
Perfect dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday with her 89 and 88 year old parents! I let them know it was her birthday when I made the reservations on OpenTable. When we were seated, the waiter presented us with menus that had my wife's name on it, saying, "Happy Birthday!" She and our party were more than impressed and wowed! The food was great, she had the halibut and I had to have my BBQ ribs, which were both outstanding! Service by Jose was excellent! We were seated out back and even had some music playing next door at the brew pub we could hear. Thanks for a great evening!
What a nice surprise to see the birthday greeting personalized on all of our menus! Delicious food and fantastic service! We’ll definitely be back soon!
Enjoyed our meal very much... great deck seating! Getting our bill corrected was a little time consuming, as the waiter forgot to subtract the gift certificate. Glad we noticed his error.
A little disappointed that it was under new ownership, but Bill McCormick has a good reputation. He had the wisdom to keep the sourdough scones- yummy! I didn't care much for my clam chowder. My wife had a great steak. Still a great location overlooking Mirror Pond.
Rhode Island Style fried calamari - calamari itself is below average (heavily battered) but okay with the accompanied peppers.
Beef Stroganoff was good.
The Steelhead tonight was what “earned” this experience a 2 star: badly undercooked - soft, flaky skin and a good ~ 1/3 inch of rawness underneath the skin.
Not horrible except for the beef stroganoff which was terrible.
A nice place to visit. I had the fish/chips which was very good, but my husband had the meatloaf and it just wasn't all that good according to him and the serving size was small. (especially considering the cost was $20) Dessert was some chocolate ice cream dish with whipped cream that was very good. Scones were very good-- more like a donut than a scone. Parking was a challenge. It was our 40th anniversary and on the menu-- it had Congratulations on 40 years-- so that was special. A good place to visit- 1x- not really sure if we would go back though.
Always enjoy Pine Tavern! Took some out of town friends for dinner and we all had the chicken fried chicken steak, delicious as always. Only complaint would be our waiter. Russ was a real piece of work! Rude and disinterested in making our visit pleasant. Got 3 out of 4 drinks wrong and never even acknowledged or apologized for not writing the orders down. He just wasn’t interested in pleasing us and it showed!
Honeymoon dinner. Excellent service, food and overall dining experience.
We've visited twice for our anniversary when we were in Bend and have enjoyed each visit. Sitting by the river eating great food and sipping great wine. So nice and pleasant. Appreciated the special Anniversary menu and dessert.
My first time in Bend and this restaurant was recommended by my Lyft driver and my associate had it recommended to him, as well. We were sat on the patio overlooking the river. The view was outstanding. Our server, Brian, was knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. The food was cooked to perfection with great flavor and seasoned well. The only thing I would say negative is the bartender was talking with another employee about personal topics while we stood waiting to get her attention. All in all, a great dining experience for quality food and ambiance. Check out the giant tree inside the restaurant - 300 years old.
We've been going to the Pine Tavern for over 20 years. It's such a charming location and Bend Icon. We were thrilled when it was taken over HOWEVER the food is not up to par, the scones used to be fluffy and now they're flat and greasy. Our food the other night was only marginable. This has been the case the past several times we've gone. We'll just stick with happy hour and the burger. That's the only thing on the menu that is still good. So sorry because we love the ambiance of the Pine Tavern.
Always love eating at the Pine Tavern. The patio is beautiful and the food excellent. They were very accommodating to our party of six.
Amazing location, views and food. They have a patio and they are dog friendly.
They did not have the scones they are famous for at lunch time. Overall a nice experience.
We thought outside seating would be less noise and we could hear better. But surprise the music from a neighboring business was blaring and not what we needed or expected. The service was excellent, the food good but unremarkable.
Delicious food. Service excellent. Love the outdoor patio.
This restaurant is always a family favorite when we are in Sunriver/Bend. The friendly service from the entire staff can't be beat. There were 7 of us, including 3 granddaughters (8, 4 and 18 months) and we all enjoyed the food selections (especially their famous scones with honey butter). It has become a family tradition for all ages!
Food and service were perfect!
Outstanding meal in a room with a great feel and great view. Service was very professional. Great dining experience!
Not good meat was old in srorganof bread greasy no butter just not a good experience will not go back
Beer garden next door a distraction/noisy. Table near the door way to the patio was like being in the middle of I-5, politely asked to be moved and got the “childrens’ section” . Overall a less then desirable experience for the price. The food was good but not exceptional, service was also unexceptional.
Was last minute decision - but was able to get reservations online - was great dinner, no hassle
Pine tavern is a Bend favorite. The seating on the patio for sunset is an amazing experience. The food, drinks, and service are all top quality.
The place was empty except for outside patio and they sat us next to the door going out to the patio. Constant open and closing of the door right next to us, which was very distracting from our meal. Also wait for a patio seat if you can.
We 3 were disappointed in our meals. Trout was dry and uninteresting. Swordfish was served with a spicy sauce not indicated as such on the menu. Pasta was just ok.
Service was very good.
Sitting outside on deck was enjoyable.
Love the ambience, but the food was over salted and dry. The waiter was not overly friendly. Not our best meal and we go there every time we are in town.
Always dependable. Great menu-great food. Staff is always efficient and friendly. Sitting outside is a must!!
This is a very unique restaurant, with a lot of character, great views and very good service. It’s popular so if you want to sit on the patio, you should make reservations on the earlier or later side. Our meals were good — save your $ because it’s a little pricey.
Great views, atmosphere and friendly staff, excellent as always.
Great experience. All food and service were great. Waiter was attentive but not intrusive.
Sorry but it was simply a marginal meal. The scones that our waiter said were “world famous” tasted like damp donuts; which is what the French fries tasted like on the ribs dish. This made us think that the “scones” were deep fat fried in the same oil as the fries . The sauce on the ribs was very sweet for my taste. The meatloaf slices were thin and clearly had been re-heated as all 3 slices had one side that was charred. I have never had charred meatloaf before so it didn’t seem freshly made. The kitchen was smart to place the charred side face down and cover it with a gravy to hide it from view. When we let the waiter know about the meatloaf he said he would let the kitchen know but there wasn’t a “I am sorry “ your meal was over cooked. We skipped dessert to get out of there. Oh, and the wine lists had 2 King Estate Pinot Gris wines and we ordered the “Lorane Valley” however the waiter wasn’t sure if we got it or not as the label didn’t seem to show that vineyard on it. Again, we were visiting from out of town and were excited to eat there but it was just an average meal and we wished we had gone some place else.
Excellent setting and meal. We enjoyed the rustic ambiance and my Caprese salad was delicious.
Very nice! It was a busy night so perhaps a bit noisier than usual. Food was excellent! Service was fine.
Couple with 2 non-support dogs were brought thru dining room on way to being seated on the patio.
I do not thing people should be allowed to bring non-support dogs to restaurant..what if everyone did this??? TOTALLY unnecessary policy to allow this!!!
