Pine Tavern Restaurant
Lunch with Client Friend
Pine Tavern has been a family favorite for decades. A culinary treat, beautiful setting and excellent service.
The only issue was how long we had to wait for the table, 45 minutes past an early reservation time
Waiter lacked warmth. Felt like it was because we didn't order a bunch of wine? Strangely officious for a place like that. Food was decent, but there is better food to be had in Bend.
We are new in town and didn’t know what to expect but we really enjoyed it!
We were seated immediate. Great service and amazing food. The scones with honey butter are amazing.
It was for an 88th birthday and Pine Tavern was perfect! I made a request for a quiet table with a view and the delivered!
New in town and we’ve already been to Pine Tavern three times. The food has always been good here as well as the friendly staff. We will definitely be dining here again soon.
Pine Tavern is our go to place for special occasions. The food always is perfectly prepared and the service is excellent.
I had the chicken fried chicken was very salty. I couldn’t eat the breading. I go every time I’m in Bend. I’ll probably pass next time.
The Pine Tavern is a Bend must. The ambiance is classy - candles, jazz standards, and a view of the Deschutes. The food and staff is ALWAYS fantastic. It's truly a breath of fresh air in the midst of pubs (and don't get me wrong - I love Bend's brew culture!)
The menu on the website has not been updated in over a year. They list a stuffed salmon but we were informed it hasn't been on the menu for over a year. We left as that is what we came for.
It was a good evening, our server was very good. He had a great personality and made it fun.
My wife had the fried chicken and loved it. I had the special Chilean sea bass. I didn't complain at the time, but have since regretted that I didn't. It wasn't worth $30. I expected a thick, fresh portion. It was less than 1/2 inch on one side and no more than 3/4 inch on the other. It didn't appear or taste fresh. In fact, my wife said that it smelled fishy, which is unusual for sea bass. My wife and enjoy Pine Tavern, but my last meal there left a lot to be desired. I expected more having eaten at McCormick & Schmicks in Sacramento many times. John Nuffer
Both the beef stroganoff and the french onion soup were not very good.
My favorite place in Bend. On the last visit, the server could not figure out the bill and seemed frustrated to the point of asking us to take it the best he could figure. Service was also slow and the traffic for a weeknight wasn't bad. Maybe just an off-day.
Amazing food and amazing customer service
Meal was not great and food arrived cold. Server was not attentive.
Still a "go to" spot in Bend. We brought out of country guests for an iconic Bend dining experience and Pine Tavern did not disappoint. Good variety on the menu, and excellent service. The waiter realized our guests spoke Spanish and switched back and forth English to Spanish ensuring our guests felt welcome. Good steaks, good comfort food items and love the scones and honey butter.
A great choice to share local charm with visitors! Friendly service, quality food, and a noise level conducive to conversation. Plenty of choices on the menu plus great wine selection make this a good group option. Not as trendsetting as other spots, but consistently reliable make this restaurant one you can always count on for a tasty “American” meal!
Excellent service (Zack). Excellent food (meatloaf). Best restaurant in Bend.
We have been coming to Pine Tavern for years. We recently celebrated our anniversary there they had great food and service.
Maybe it was because our visit was a late Sunday evening, but the restaurant was less than half full which made it nice and quiet. That made it very easy for casual conversation. Service was prompt and food excellent as always.
Celebrated our 39th anniversary and had great service, the meal was excellent my husbands steak was as tender a steak he’s ever had. I had the prime rib and it was served perfectly med rare
Character from the moment you walk up all the way to the back and outdoor seating. Elegant but casual. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious food.
Love the restaurant: its location, ambience, service.....but, sadly, have never had a good meal there, including our most recent visit last Saturday.
The only "not stellar" part of our experience was the waiter. He was polite and professional, but he just seemed a bit disconnected. When we made the reservation, we mentioned that it was for our anniversary. When the menus came, we were so tickled to see a personalized banner at the top of the menus....definitely a keepsake for the . We even remarked to our server, yet at one point he simply walked away with them, I'm sure to be recycled. I had to ask him to bring them back. He also took way to long to get back to us to take our order, the dessert menu and finally, our bill. Although we appreciated not being rushed, it bordered on neglect. He also seemed to follow a script, and even though we tried, he would not/could not engage in a conversation with us. Simply no connection.
One of our favorite places for special occasions!
On the negative side, downtown parking Sucks!!! It’s always been bad, but now is even worse. Gave ourselves an extra twenty minutes but still nearly missed our reservation time! I already avoid going downtown and this trip convinced me even more that I should continue to avoid it even more!!!!
Quality food prepared well but service lacking and priced too high.
How many ways can you say "delicious." Our dining experience was grand. Thanks
Enjoy this restaurant every year when we vacation at Eagle Crest. We love to sit outside and enjoy the lovely view and river. This time because we had cooler weather we ate inside which wasn’t as delightful but we still had a great time and dinner was very good.
Excellent service and very good food. Enjoyed my meal and recommend.
We sat down at 6:30, main course arrived at about 7:30, not sure why it took so long, was not provided an explanation. Halibut was the special for the night, love halibut, it was under cooked. Mushy.
Perfect dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday with her 89 and 88 year old parents! I let them know it was her birthday when I made the reservations on OpenTable. When we were seated, the waiter presented us with menus that had my wife's name on it, saying, "Happy Birthday!" She and our party were more than impressed and wowed! The food was great, she had the halibut and I had to have my BBQ ribs, which were both outstanding! Service by Jose was excellent! We were seated out back and even had some music playing next door at the brew pub we could hear. Thanks for a great evening!
What a nice surprise to see the birthday greeting personalized on all of our menus! Delicious food and fantastic service! We’ll definitely be back soon!
Enjoyed our meal very much... great deck seating! Getting our bill corrected was a little time consuming, as the waiter forgot to subtract the gift certificate. Glad we noticed his error.
A little disappointed that it was under new ownership, but Bill McCormick has a good reputation. He had the wisdom to keep the sourdough scones- yummy! I didn't care much for my clam chowder. My wife had a great steak. Still a great location overlooking Mirror Pond.
Rhode Island Style fried calamari - calamari itself is below average (heavily battered) but okay with the accompanied peppers.
Beef Stroganoff was good.
The Steelhead tonight was what “earned” this experience a 2 star: badly undercooked - soft, flaky skin and a good ~ 1/3 inch of rawness underneath the skin.
Not horrible except for the beef stroganoff which was terrible.
A nice place to visit. I had the fish/chips which was very good, but my husband had the meatloaf and it just wasn't all that good according to him and the serving size was small. (especially considering the cost was $20) Dessert was some chocolate ice cream dish with whipped cream that was very good. Scones were very good-- more like a donut than a scone. Parking was a challenge. It was our 40th anniversary and on the menu-- it had Congratulations on 40 years-- so that was special. A good place to visit- 1x- not really sure if we would go back though.
