Pine Tavern Restaurant
We go every year for the scones!! That’s our favorite thing ever. Family tradition to come every summer. Had a reservation at 7:30... we’re seated right away and weren’t waited on until 8 and then they were out of scones. Our waiter was not considerate and made the experience sub par to what it could of been. Food was amazing all around as always but service was a serious disappointment.
The deck and patio overlook the river which is a stunning view.
Overall a good experience. Beef stroganoff was awful.
The patio on the back deck is a lovely place to enjoy a summer lunch.
Place is overall good. Steak was over cooked paid 36.00 for a pretty small steak. Drinks good.
This our favorite place to eat in Bend Oregon. It was our 45th Anniversary and they always make it Special. The Service is excellent and the food is so delicious. I would highly recommend Pine Tavern Restaurant to all . 😀🐟🦐
DJ was a terrific server! Food was delicious.
Beautiful evening on the river!
Our table was just what we wanted. The waiter was attentive and prompt. My wife had halibut which was very good. I had a very tough and over-priced prime rib. It was a disappointment.
Great outdoor space
Get together anniversary with long time friend.
We try to eat at Pine Tavern Restaurant each time we visit Bend, and have found the food and service each time to be quite good. Of course, we really like their rolls, but feel too guilty to ask for seconds as we know they are deep fried, but SOOOO delicious! My husband had the mahi-mahi and he said his meal was very good. I had the baby back pork ribs which were excellent, but the BBQ sauce used on them, made this entree even more so! It was some of the best sauce I’ve ever had!! Our server was great and she was not only friendly, but also very effective at her job. Thank you, Pine Tavern!!
i love the scones and honey butter, i first had them at the ranch in ketchum idaho and was surprised when the owners at that time owned both restaurants.
Love the ancient tree in dining room. Shrimp and grits yummmmm.....only one piece of battered cod for $19.95....not good.....ribs were fabulous.
First time visiting Pine Tavern on the recommendation of a friend and it was a good one! We all had the New England clam chowder. I was suspect because I am from Boston and have a pretty high bar for chowder, but it was delicious (and I am a hard grader!) Had the potato encrusted halibut for dinner and it was amazing! Another dinner guest had the wild salmon and he raved about it as well. Service was terrific! Add this to your list of places to go.
This is one of our favorite restaurants when we come to Bend. My husband loves the ribs! It would be great if they could add one vegan friendly item to the menu! The closest I found was the linguine pomodoro without the cheese. It was very good.
We’ve been going to the pine tavern for over 40 years and it has been dependably excellent. The two huge pines the restaurant is built around remain a unique northwest decor as they grow through the center of the garden room. The location right on the Deschutes river across from Drake Park is gorgeous. The latest incarnation under Bill McCormack (who we thought retired) has trimmed the menu a bit but retains all that has been the Pine Tavern; scones, excellent salads, beautifully prepared seafood, awesome steaks, the only prime rib I eat other than at the Ringside in Portland (except on Sunday) and deserts that perfectly finish a leisurely dinner. We love this place!
Quite literally the best meal I've ever bought. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. He offered suggestions without being pushy. The prime rib was prepared perfectly, and the bread pudding was to die for.
The only downside is that the brewery next door plays its music disrespectfully loud.
Great location. Very nice meal. Great service. We will recommend and be back again.
As always wonderful food and service
Our table was ready when we arrived - no waiting. The service was exceptional.
Love the ambiance, especially if the weather is nice enough to site outside.
Great location, tired inside
A pleasant restaurant in a nice setting. Not exceptional, but very good.
When your husband says “This meal was all around perfect!” It was a beautiful evening to eat outside and enjoy the lovely view. I am so sorry we didn’t catch the name of our server, but he was great! The food was fabulous! Can’t say enough good and we are so sorry we don’t live closer. This would definitely be our favorite place in town! It was a perfect ending to our several day stay in Bend! We look forward to our next visit, whenever that may be.
Meatloaf was bitter and burnt on the edges, dry....not presented well. Server, not a waiter, first thing when asked what brand of coffee you had he said - no kidding "hell if I know", so then my wife asked what type tea, he responded "I can't answer that either". He rolled though taking our order, never offered any specials or ideas. He reflected someone I would encounter when I get my oil changed.
Never came back to ask how our meal was. When we needed something we had to flag someone down.
Normally, it's really great. This time, it was unusually slow service. He also got or order wrong.
Another visit when in Bend to our favorite Pine Tavern. We had dinner outside in the rear area under the trees by the river. We started with pino noir wine and then my wife ordered the strogonoff and I had the pomodoro pasta. Both were very good and we had enough of the large portions to take with for lunch the next day. A great evening.
This was our first visit to the Pine Tavern in Bend, OR. After being seated on the last set of dining tables next to Mirror Pond, we couldn't have asked for starting off our dining experience any better...Beautiful evening to enjoy with sunshine, gentle breeze and being waterside!
Aaron was our server for the evening, with a cordial welcome and review of the Pine Tavern's specials for Father's Day. Took in a couple of beer/cider offerings from their local companies, along with shrimp cocktail to enjoy, along with a basket of lightly fried sweet bread with honey butter ! Husband had fish and chips with excellent Cod that had a very flaky crust and tender cod. I had the Pine Tavern meatloaf with gravy, with just the right smaller portion of mashed potato's, and asparagus! Both meals were very much enjoyed and perfect portions to allow "just enough" room for the two of us "to share" a mixed berry crumble, and of course, scoop of "ice cream" to finish out this most delicious dessert presentation !
While dining they had live music with an "Irish beat" to enjoy as well ! Sorry missed the band's name !
Pine Tavern will be on our list for a return trip to Bend, hopefully sooner than later, but highly recommend. Building dates back 1936 and management maintains the service, food, and ambience for a dining experience Pine Tavern so deserves ! Was a great experience ! Thank you Pine Tavern !
Food and service was outstanding! Nice setting also if at a window table or outside on deck.
Server was rude 😠 after we were done and had desert. Took a while to get check
It was our 38th year anniversary and it was a great place on the patio
The food was awesome but the service was disappointing. We had a reservation at 6p and we were seated at 6:20p. We consistently had to ask for water and the service was slow. We were a party of 9 and it’s understandable that can be tricky to serve but the restaurant really wasn’t that busy.
We sat on the patio and it was very nice. Service was good but waiter never checked on us to see how we were doing and how our food was. I had potato incrusted halibut, a special. What I received was hash browns on halibut. the potato was very salty. After removing it, the fish was good with a little tarter sauce. I told the waiter about the halibut but he had no reaction. I hope our next visit is better.
I'm wondering if there are new owners since we have always had good service along with good food but last Christmas the food was not good and this trip the service was really slow while there were not many tables full. It took a long time to get our wine plus we had to wait a long time between courses.
Too bad as we always enjoyed eating here but will go elsewhere next time.
Great evening to sit on the patio and enjoy the great weather and the view. Fun to watch all the baby geese on the river paddling around along with the paddle boarders.
Each year on our last evening of our annual vacation in the area, we dine here. Unfortunately over the years the service and the food has steadily declined. I traditionally have a filet steak. In the early years it was to die for. Now it hardly would rate an average. The outside of a medium rare is hard char burnt. Not a pleasant taste. The reception at the front entry wasn’t nice. We made reservations at 5 on a Sunday evening and although the restaurant was generally empty it seemed a challenge to receive and seat us. Then an individual with a dog was seated next to us. Waiter seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about something. The time of providing us our check to returning to pick it up to process it with my credit card was 18 minutes. We think we will start a new last evening dining tradition elsewhere.
Beautiful outdoor seating overlooking river, very good service and food. Liked it so much for lunch we came back for dinner
