   We loved everything about the Pine Tavern in Hanover. Perfect location right on campus, warm and welcoming decor ( the fireplace was much appreciated on a cold day!), truly delicious food and excellent, friendly service!

   The food, drinks, and general atmosphere at Pine are wonderful, based on two recent dinner experiences there. It is the energetic hotspot in Hanover and there is always friendly activity amongst patrons there. The reasons for the four rather than five star rating include just a two things: unpleasantly cold (though likely energy efficient) gray-toned lighting, and a few examples of inhospitable staff behaviors---The valet parking attendant replied with a curt "Nope, we're too busy" to parking our car when he was told we would be dining but were not overnight guests of the hotel; when we checked in 10 minutes early for our reservation with the hostess, she also curtly stated "We won't be able to seat you until that time," and gave no further welcome or instructions before redirecting her attention to a previous conversation with another staff person; and although the server was attentive and friendly, service of shared "small plate" items was crowded, difficultly placed, and lacked adequate attention to plates needed to eat them, resulting in a rushed and perfunctory experience. We have enjoyed our experiences at Pine, but for a restaurant at this price point, a bit more welcoming, universally friendly and attentive atmosphere would be appropriate even though it is busy and in high demand.

   In my opinion this is the best restaurant in the Hanover area. The room is attractive, modern with tables well spaced for conversation. The food has been outstanding in the two meals that we have eaten there. The menu covers all the bases from fish to fowl to red and white meat, with vegetarian dishes available as well. Plates are well designed and executed by the kitchen. I shared an octopus appetizer that met this description. My swordfish entre was wonderful, beautifully cooked, moist, with a sauce that very was truly special. Wines and cocktail prices were reasonable for this class of restaurant. My wifes chicken breast entre was equally good. Service was attentive, polite and professional. I look forward to enjoying this restaurant again.

   terrible service...we (two people) were waiting for an hour for dinner to come out and it wasnt crowded on Monday night medium well hamburger had to be sent back since it was char black all through and same second time i just gave up and ate it I ahd similar experience 6 months ago I dont see why people go there

   Food was tasty but 2 of our 4 orders were incorrect. Had to wait 15 minutes for the correct meals to be delivered. Others food was cold by then

   The Pine Room has it all: Attentive service by knowledgeable staff, farm to table food for small or large plates, and a remarkable setting. The fireplace makes this a great winter dining destination, although we've enjoyed it in all seasons. We'd highly recommend this special place.

   Despite a 7:30 reservation we were not seated until 8:15. And then we didn’t get our meals until 9. Things were incrediblely slow. The wait staff and front desk were apologetic, but it was still so frustrating.

    Although the menu is limited, each dish is perfectly prepared with a lovely presentation. the waiter was there when needed and was "perfectly friendly" just enough. We were not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening
