Strip was tough and dry but filet was good. Sides were pretty good, service was good
Both food and service were excellent...the family had steaks, chicken and a pasta dish. Each dish was cooked to perfection! This was our first experience at the Pine Tree and for sure if the food and service are always this good, will return often!!!
Ribs were good. The crab cakes were not a lot of filler and to salty. Service was great.
We drove 40 miles (80 round trip) to what we thought would be an exceptional steak restaurant. The prices suggested quality and the menu online looked inviting. We made a reservation, arrived on time at 6:30 PM Saturday April 7th and were finished and back on the road by 7:07 PM. That is correct. From the time we parked at the restaurent to the time we got back in the car to drive home was 37 minutes. We ordered two glasses of wine, an appetizer to share, caesar salad to share and each ordered a steak for which the restaurant claimed to be famous. The appetizer (crab dip) arrived promptly, was tasty but a little too salty. As we were nearly finished with it, the steaks arrived, and were immediately followed by the salad. The steaks were good quality, both were ordered medium rare and the hanger steak met our expectations. The $37 ribeye steak was rare, and both were served on cold plates. By this time we were so disappointed by the delivery of the main courses before we had finished the appetizer, and before the salad, that I accepted the rare steak. We just wanted to eat and go home. The steaks were cold by the time they were half eaten, and we took part of the hanger steak and half the ribeye with us. The waitress clearly had no idea of the proper timing or order for serving a meal that cost nearly $100, despite the fact that everything we had ordered was on the table at the same time. The fact that the restaurant was less than half full on a Saturday evening did not seem to us to be an accident. This is not a restaurant we would recommend to anyone.
The service was great! The food was awful. The Alfredo was watered down, no taste. Spinach dip was cold. Definitely was not worth the money. Will not go back.
very good service and tasty food. we ate in the bar area since it was a stormy week night, but there is also a nice upstairs dining room which would be less casual.

Went for New Year's Eve. The "couple" special was one steak and one lobster tail... strange way to split a dinner. The food was okay but not really worth the price. The ambiance for New Year's eve was nothing special.
The food and service was top notch! I loved getting to sit near an open fire considering how cold it was outside.

We were looking for a place to meet everyone's needs, food-wise and price-wise so I chose Pine Lodge. There were 10 of us on a cold night - the Saturday before Christmas. We were surprised the restaurant was empty. The menu has a lot of options! Most of us ordered steak and one got a pasta dish. Everyone seemed pleased with their dishes. The steaks were very good and included a side. I would go again!
Overall disappointed with our experience. Made a reservation, seated quickly (requested window seating and didn't get it-anniversary dinner) but waited FOREVER for our server to come to our table. Once we were greeted, he rushed through the specials and said he would be right back. Again took a while for him to return. When he came back with our beverages, he offered us MORE time to decide on our order and started to walk away...We had to actually ask him to stop because we were ready to order. We planned on ordering an appetizer but chose not to at this point. After we got our food, we sat there FOREVER waiting to get boxes. The people next to us arrived after us, got drinks, apps, dinner and the waitress actually brought over a tray and boxed and took care of everything for them...our server dropped the boxes and dropped the check on the table and walked away. We finally stopped the manager and asked him to take our check...we just got so tired of all the waiting. The manager took our check and then handed it to our waiter...again we waited a long time for him to return.
Food was good except the shrimp scampi was on the bland side. Needed more garlic, as I wouldn't call what I received "scampi". Service was good and the bread is AWESOME! I liked this place, but thought it was on the pricey side for what you get, and the drink prices are outrageous.
The food was awesome! The sweet potatoes and filet were cooked perfectly. The service was superb. Our waiter was super attentive. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Visiting area for weekend, stopped in for dinner Saturday night, very expansive menu, part of the group of 6 got entrees others got lighter fare (burgers). Everyone enjoyed their meals, service was terrific, very attentive.
We ate upstairs away from TVs, room was very nice, large ceilings and lots of wood, exactly what you'd expect in a log cabin.
Nice place in Deep Creek. We had a conference here and the hotel restaurant was mediocre at best and we appreciated a fine meal aside from the Subway and Pizza.
A large table of ten men, did not slow the service to our table. Very professional, and the food exceeded expectations.
Dinner was very good, we had the Small Metro NY Strips. Service was a little too prompt for a Saturday evening that was sort of slow (out of peak season). We felt a little rushed, but the waitress Angie, did ask the kitchen to slow down our dinner. Nice atmosphere, good wine list.

The service was poor, waiter seemed to be overwhelmed. The food was nothing like the order. The swordfish was overlooked and was supposed to be in a bed of spinach and there wasn't any.
Good food and service. We ate on a Friday evening in early September and the upstairs wasn't very crowded. Some reviews stated the food portions were small however we found it to be fine. The kids menu options are decent and the portions for kids are big. The mixed reviews proved to be on the positive side from our experience. We did the 2 for $50 menu which was a good choice and the food was excellent. The waitress brought us the 2 for $50 menu after we requested it. Luckily we had read about the special prior to going because I am not sure if the waitress would have offered the menu. If we are in the area again we would go back to eat.
Great local fair in a log cabin setting. Prices are fair for average sized portions. The house special creamy crab soup is delicious. Lots of options for those who do or don't want steak. Service was very good and we were pleased with our overall experience.
The atmosphere was nice at the beginning but the longer we where there it become crowded and the tables seemed to close. Unfortunately, a family brought a dog in to eat with them (which to my knowledge was not a service dog, no identification seen). My husband ordered prime rib and I ordered New York Strip. Both steaks were to be cooked medium. However, both steaks were over cooked and my steak was extremely overcooked. The garlic butter it was topped with was tasty and its only redeeming feature.
Our meal came to $85 with tip. For the price this meal was not worth it. I would not recommend Pine Lodge. My husband and I will not be going there again.
The dinner was execrable. The restaurant is famous for its cream of crab soup, but when served, what was provided was not that soup at all, but a thin milk based tasteless cup tasting nothing of sherry - a key ingredient - and colorless. We sat for 75 minutes without being served dinner. The table of four behind us who came in well after we did was was served, and when I asked the manager where our food was - lo and behold it was delivered instantly, all cold (except for the baked potatoes which we re clearly pulled from the microwave. Since we all had ordered steak (it is, after all, the Pine Lodge STEAK house) cold meat was the meal of the day. This used to be a fine restaurant - we have dined there many times. ON August 18, it was awful.
Food made her sick. Horrible experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Steak was a less than a half inch thick for $42.
We had a family dinner here and really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and helpful with an injured person who needed a bit of help. The New York strip was very good and every bit of the advertised weight. Everyone enjoyed their food here.
Nice location, choice of upstairs with Jazz music or downstairs with county/sports atmosphere. We felt the prices were a bit high for the size of the portions.
Great steak and seafood house in Deep Creek Lake area. Service was impeccable and very attentive. Great views of the mountain and lake.

There were 8 in our party and we were spending the weekend in Deep Creek. Overall, the food was ok, 3 ordered prime rib and said there wasn't much taste; one order for chicken parmesan was burnt around the edges and didn't have enough sauce so had to ask for more; one appetizer of coconut shrimp was fried too long and 2 others ordered the coconut shrimp as an entree so we made sure to ask that theirs be fried less and both orders were fine. We like the atmosphere and the service was good - we appreciated that the manager came to our table to talk about the coconut shrimp. We would go back but know not to expect over the top food tastes.
This place cannot be taken seriously as a steakhouse. The portions are not as advertised - much smaller. All of our steaks were overcooked. And worst of all, they lacked flavor and overall quality. When the prices match up to higher end steak restaurants, one expects corresponding quality. Didn't happen here.
Service was poor but mainly due to inexperience. The manager, however, was disrespectful and dismissive. Fail.
Last, the atmosphere is generally cheesy and poorly arranged for a quality dining experience.

The restaurant itself is fairly big and has a cabin-style feel to it. Once inside, the decor isn't quite tasteful and rather tacky. Our server was very kind and attentive throughout the dinner but the food... the food is not at all worth the cost. For our appetizer, we ordered the McHenry Crab Dip. It has zero crabs in it and tasted only of Old Bay seasoning. It was served with STALE tortilla chips and STALE pita bread. For our entrees, we ordered a medium-well filet mignon with crab legs and vegetables, and a medium-rare New York Strip with asparagus. When our waiter brought our food, the kitchen had mixed up our side orders, which is an understandable mistake. But then, when we cut into our steaks, they were not to our orders. Our waiter was kind and apologetic and returned our plates to the kitchen. So for the next 15mins we just ate my order of crab legs. When he returned, our sides were still mixed up and again, our steaks were not cooked well. We decided to just eat it anyway as we were already convinced that this restaurant was not up to par. The side of vegetables and the asparagus looked like they came out of bags or cans... HOW HARD IS IT TO BAKE ASPARAGUS? For the mix-up of the steak not being cooked well, our server offered us $5 gaming cards for the arcade in the restaurant...
Pine Lodge Steakhouse is NOT worth the money we ended up paying.
We were vacationing in Deep Creek and came across the Pine Lodge Steakhouse, when we decided to make reservations for a dinner night out. As soon as you walked in, you could feel the heat smack you in the face. Our server told us we could open some windows, the air conditioning was broke and just started working again. It was 9 of us, dining that night and 3 of our orders were brought out wrong. The Oscar is nothing more than creamy lumpy cream of crab soup. The shrimp scampi had 4 shrimps and barley and scampi sauce at all. More of a wet noodle taste. The crab cakes are not much bigger than a golf ball, and were fried hard with mostly filler. No lump crab meat at all. The steaks were very small, and not worth the prices at all. Needless to say we all left disappointed and hungry. I wouldnt recomend the Lodge for dinner. Very over priced and not worth the time. Only reason for 2 stars is because our waitress was nice.
