Great food and service. They have buck-a-shuck oysters every day now. We also tried the cabbage (amazing), beef tartare (good, but comparable to others) and the lamb (good, but wouldn’t get it again). Would like to go back to try other dishes. Beers are a good price ($5), cocktails are expensive.
Great food! All of the shared dishes we had were flavourful. We will be back.
I came in with my girlfriend for a nice night out for the first time in a few weeks on Wednesday. We both work in hospitality and rarely get the same nights off so we're very picky about where we go. We came here on a referral, and will be returning without a doubt.
Lucked out on the features of the night - 1/2 priced wine and 1 dollar east coast oysters to get the night started! Justin was our server, did an excellent job breaking down the menu and great service overall. We left the decisions for wine and food pairing up to him along with the timing of the meals. Everything went very smoothly and the dishes were fantastic. (Especially the Burrata)
Thanks for the excellent evening! - Kyle
One of my favorite restaurants in Canada. Incredible service, delicious food and exciting wine. And don’t sleep on that cabbage.
Delicious food and beverages with well timed delivery of our meal. The oysters were delicious as was the cabbage! The vibe of the restaurant is great. Highly recommend.
Food is always excellent, the service was absolutely outstanding - super attentive staff and a lovely complimentary dish from the kitchen.
Spontaneously went in for “buck a chuck” oysters - were not disappointed! Server was great, oysters were fresh, apple mignonette great accompaniment.
Super, as usual.
Great place but not the best new menu, I miss the old food!
Everything was amazing
This was my second time here. I came last August, and unfortunately my wife couldn't make then. I was with a hardcore vegetarian friend, and she is EXTREMELY picky. She found lots to eat and loved it all. Her husband and I (both meatitarians) also enjoyed both the meat and veggie dishes. When my wife and I came down to Calgary again, I made a point of taking her. She also loved it. It was like that diner scene from When Harry Met Sally. Good thing it was early and the restaurant only had a few tables. Otherwise I would have been embarrassed about the moaning coming from my wife's direction!! Highly recommend the charred cabbage, the mushroom dumplings and the pork secerta.
We arrived at 6:30 and were the only people in the restaurant beside one guy at the bar. The service was intelligent and efficient. Two of the dishes were excellent; three dishes were okay. Try the Wagu tartar and the Himachi.
Had such a great meal and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately the noise level was really high - perhaps exacerbated by the layout /close proximity of tables to one another.
It's a good dining experience. Nice variety on the menu and a perfect place for friends to chat over family style serving. We like it.
Brutally overrated restaurant. We ordered 6 dishes and they were all either smothered in cheese or smothered in a sauce. The chicken “paté” was disgusting. Totally not worth the time or energy to go to. The cabbage dish was the only one that was half decent, minus the hordes or cheddar on top. Even the beets were covered in cheese. Not sure what the obsession is with cheeses and sauces here, but definitely not a great place to eat. Sorely disappointing.
Great experience !
Excellent experience. Food was really good with lots of varied tastes. We tried 6 dishes and all of them were very unique and delicious
The food was very good with interesting flavours. I was particularly pleased that they offered a low carb option for bread, an almond flour cracker. This made the meal great as many of the selections require a bread to eat with. I will go back and try more of their great dishes.
Amazing nite. Justin - our server - was outstanding on every level!
Great food if somewhat a bit rich (mostly due to our combined selection. The large proportion of gluten free dishes doesn’t make those who avoid food glue feel deprived! Well done PH
One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. Continued interesting and delicious food.
Food and service was excellent
Delicious food and wine. Tried 8 different dishes with all being amazing, felt that the wagyu tartar was definitely that best though. Can’t wait to come back and try different items on the updated menu.
Pigeonhole is one of my favourite restauarnts in Calgary! The food is exceptional, and the smaller share plates let you try unique dishes and share them. The restaurant space is beautiful and cool at the same time. I love sitting at the bar counter as much as at a table. Service is always good.
A good variety of tapas, but I would recommend rotating menus as I would soon tire of only 19 choices - some which i would never opt for. A small soup or salad would be nice to see. I missed a dessert menu if there was one...
The food is so delicious! We came for dinner before the Flames game. Everything about the dinner was memorable.
Nothing really bad to say but nothing mind blowing. 3 girls sat in the middle of the empty room at an awkward overly oval table (not great for sharing or conversation). When went to bathroom upstairs saw tables (and atmosphere) that would have preferred, or any other table really since by the time we left only one other table had sat. Weird thing to complain about but we ordered 8 dishes and they brought the vegetable dishes last (10 mins after everything else), reason this was undesirable is once we were done all the starch, fish, and meat courses to have our salad served, well we were full and uninterested. Server was good, some food amazing some we didn’t eat, was looking for a little more fun and wow. Bill was approx $240, could go elsewhere for that price. Will probably try again due to good reviews and maybe next time will be better.
Came here tonight with a friend after hearing such great things. Pigeonhole did not disappoint! The wagyu beef tartare and the rainbow trout were the highlight of the our meals tonight. Extremely tasteful and satisfying dishes all around!
Great food great service.
Everything was delicious, complex and commentary. Can't wait to come back.
The burrata and the trout were fantastic, atmosphere is good but it is on the louder side if it's busy.
I brought a friend who was visiting Calgary and he was thoroughly impressed with everything that we had. Pigeon Hole is one of my favourites.
Awesome food. Awesome service. Definitely going to visit the Pigeonhole again!!
This was my 2nd time here. The first time on a date with my hubby was amazing. Great food and service - I was very pleased. This time, however, I was a little turned off for mainly one reason: We were a larger party (6 ladies) and our reservation was for 5:30. Half of our party was there at 5:25, the other half arrived at 5:45. Just before they arrived, we had a manager come to our table to "let us know" that our full party was "really quite late" and we should know that they had another reservation for this table at 8pm - so we "should probably order soon". Um, what?! WE also had a reservation and even if the 3 late gals were there, we likely would've chatted for 15 mins before ordering anyway! That's pretty standard dinner-out behaviour I think? We there-fore felt quite unwelcome. I could understand politely mentioning something at 7:30 if we were still eating and looked like we might not be close to being ready to leave - but at the very start of our reservation? It was a bit odd and disappointing for a higher end restaurant. Service was a bit "cold" throughout the evening as well.
I really enjoyed the small plate meals they had a great selection. The bar tenders were great at their craft wished I could have experienced more of their creations.
Best meal of my life! We asked our server for his recommendations, ordered all of them, and were not disappointed. Will definitely be back.
Unique menu, great presentation, delicious food. A real treat for Toronto visitors.
Food is creative, beautiful and most importantly delicious. Attentive staff with great knowledge of food and wine.
Pigeonhole continues to impress with their creative and delicious dishes and superb cocktails.
The menu on opentable is old. If we knew that we would have gone elsewhere. We were looking for something specific
