We chose this place in part because my son attends the culinary institute of America. The food was pretty good but the service was really bad. The prices were not commensurate with the service. They messed up our order. They forgot to input the vegetables that we ordered. So, we had to wait like 15 minutes while our entree sat in the table getting cold. No apologizes, no offer to make things better. Then they brought the check without asking if we wanted desert...which we did. When you spend $200 for dinner you expect at least the level of service you would get at Olive Garden.
Great in every respect!
Service was great, food was amazing (hard pass on the chicharron next time though). Overall very good first time experience.
Food was so unique and delicious - all of the dishes were just incredible. Service was fast but not rushed. Nice space and an overall fun dining experience.
Always a great experience.
Great unexpected food. We have 4 dishes to share and that was enough for two, especielly with the botomless beer, that was perfectlly chilled.
Our waitress took 15 minutes to come over to the table with water. We were sat in the back corner and ignored for the time we were there/ We participated in the bottomless brunch yet were cut off 30 minutes early- with no warning- after only have 2 pitchers of mimosas between 4 people. If I'm paying for a bottomless brunch, I expect to have a full mimosa majority of the time there. That certainly did not happen. The waitress was rude and literally threw food on the table. One friend's dish came out 20 minutes 20 MINUTES before everyone else's with no explanation from the waitress. The food was tasty but overall not worth the price/rest of the experience we had. At one point, I had to get up and ask the bus boy for water refills. The appetizers we ordered never came either. Overall, I won't be going back and I would not recommend coming too this restaurant. The service ruined our experience.
Great place.....love the food BUT one BIG flaw!
....Why is it that they always suggest way more food than we can eat?
The waitress suggested (for 3 people) 5 appetizer dishes and 3 main dishes.
We orderd 3 appetizers and 2 main dished and didn't even touch the 2nd main course....way too much food.
It was a little obvious that our waitress was are concerned with selling more!
This is a turn off.........you would think that a restaurant like this would be smater than that.
I've been there about 5 times and same story....I don't think I will be going back.
Amazing food! Had fun!
The food here was absolutely delicious. We had the bottomless brunch option (not bad for $15) but they ran out of the lychee mimosas by 230pm on a Sunday. I was pretty excited about it because I had heard good things, but I would definitely go back again.
P.S. get a side of the garlic rice. You will not regret it!
I thought they would make me feel special on my birthday. NOPE. Not even a happy birthday. The food was not very memorable at all. It was so loud I could not hear myself think. I ordered to Rum and Rhymes (alcoholic drinks) and all I could taste was the Rhyme. I wasn't happy at all but I just had to have Mimosas on my birthday. I wont go back again.
This was my first time here for breakfast, and i had a great time. The food was amazing. It was more of a lunch time meal more than breakfast, but it was soo good. The drinks were good, and we had a great waiter named emery? (Probably spelled that wrong.) He was really nice, and checked on our table all the time. Great experience!
My daughter just turned 18 so we came to NYC to celebrate! Great food and staff! I would highly recommend 👍
Best flavors in NYC hands down - fast becoming my absolute favorite
The food here is so delicious! Make room for dessert
Tasting menu was not a traditional tasting menu. The servers threw plates of food on the table with little to no explanation of what were were eating. Food was okay, but very meat heavy - there was not one dish on the tasting menu that didn’t have meat on it. Additionally, we were seated on the patio where the busboy repeatedly added and took away a chair from our table as more or less chairs were needed inside. Very disappointing dinner based on other reviews.
We had the chef tasting menu and it was outstanding! Food was great. Service was great!
Food was great, however the service was pretty horrendous. Our reservation was for 3:15 pm. The waiter didn't bother to tell us too much about the food and portions. My husband ordered a sausage dish, it was great, but only 6 small pieces , not enough for a full lunch for a grown up man. When he tried to order more food he was informed the kitchen stops taking orders at 3:30pm. so they can close down before dinner. Our reservation was for 3:15pm and waiter didn't bother to show up for another 8 minutes! I guess we were lucky we got food at all...
I went for weekend brunch with a friend. The food was delicious but plates are relatively small. Also not a lot of options for vegetarians. The bottomless mimosa deal was very good - $15 for 2 hours, but the check was sent to us a good 15 ms before the end time and we had to talk to a manager - hence a 3 for service.
Waiter was awful. Very disrespectful. Food was amazing.
Good food. Large portions. Reasonable pricing. Very noisy and tables are tightly packed in so no intimate conversation.
Good food and nice staff and a cozy environment with a big bathroom
Pig & Khao is serving generous portions of really fun, flavorful fare. This will be our new go-to in downtown Manhattan. Great value. Scratched the itch for spicy Asian-inflected food and everything was generously seasoned, yet I didn't wake up parched in the middle of the night or feel like garbage the next day. Perhaps most impressive was the truly diverse and egalitarian vibe. In an industry plagued by misogyny and racism, it was heartening to see what appeared to be a workplace that actually values equality and community. Everyone on staff was kind and seemed to be having fun.
Great food, fair prices, and nice service! I keep coming back and it always delivers.
This is officially a New York staple in my book. Open Table tells me I've been here 5 times but feels like more! In a city where you can choose a different restaurant for every dinner and not risk repeating a previous choice, it says a lot that I choose to bring friends and family here every time. The food is representatitve of the best Filipino flavors there are - there are some for the aventurous but also the first timers. The drinks are fun and the atmosphere is relaxed, the music is upbeat and the staff all look cool and are attentive. The value is unbeatable too - always pleasantly surprised when I see the check at the end of our meal. :)
Excellent food! Khao soy and corned beef hash are amazing!!! Loved the lychee mimosa as well. Great plates for sharing when you can’t decide and excellent service
Restaurant week dinner was outstanding. Highlights were the khao soi, pork belly adobo, coconut rice, and both desserts (halo-halo and turon). The seasonings and sauces were all crazy good. And there was a ton of food - we had to box up half of our third course to save room for dessert.
Everything was SO GOOD!
Went for RW second year in a row, found the food to be too salty this time around! Music was a bit loud but overall still enjoyed ourselves, Halo Halo and the Khao Soi were still as fantastic as I remembered them!
Teo Best friends getting together to celebrate our 40 years of friendship.
The food is exceptional - best meal in years. Staff is cool. The noise level gets higher as night wears on and hard to talk to people kitty-corner at the table. But the food is excellent. My 15 year old came out with the adults and had a great time trying some new tastes.
Me and my boyfriend had good time !! We liked the food and we order almost the whole menu to tryout!! I recommend the rest to young ground , who likes noise and tight tables! Food was average to good.
We went as part of restaurant week and found that the set menu had a very very big emphasis for pork. We oded on the pork. It was also very smoky nd grease laden due to cooking the pork and cracklings. Won’t go back.
Had really high expectations for this place after I saw the chef compete on Iron Chef America. Food was average; lack the vibrant South East Asian (Pan Asian) flavors they claim to have. Have had better food at small walk-in Thai/Fusion places in Hells Kitchen. Tried four items and nothing was remarkable.
Decided to take my friend out to dinner and what better time than restaurant week? We stepping into Pig and Khao not expecting anything than the awesome reviews from friends and coworkers. An exceptional experience that will bring me back for be tasting menu.
Food was outstanding -- what more is there to say?
Restaurant was a little loud so not the best for a quiet conversation but did I mention the food was outstanding?!
Everything was great. The food was incredible, and generous portions made prices actually seem more than reasonable. Cocktails were fabulous and unique. Ambiance was fun an casual. The only negative was that service seemed a little bit disorganized, and I would hate to see that get away from the staff.
We were very happy with the inventive and tasty food, but were unaware that is was family style dinning and expected both our entrees to come out at the same time. My husband did not want my entrée which came out first so I ended up eating a good portion by myself and then waited for my husband to finish his entrée when it came out much later. It would have been nice if the staff told us this. Also, we ordered garlic rice as a side and it came out first without our entrees and we had to ask for it to be reheated as it was cold by the time the entrée came out. However, the restaurant did replace it with a fresh warm rice bowl for no charge. The staff was very friendly, the food was great, the place is small and loud and as I mentioned, we just wish they would have told us it was family style.
The food was great but not as creative / unique as I hoped it'd be for restaurant week, and the environment was awesome but the service was a bit slow. Overall a good experience though! Great ambience / lighting / music, and casual vibes. Not too loud either, which was so nice!
