About Pietro's Italian Restaurant
Welcome to Pietro’s of Lodi, a newly renovated, modern Italian restaurant that serves rich flavors and authentic cuisine. Since 1957 the proud family tradition of serving great food lives on with favorites like hand-tossed wood-fired pizza, homemade ravioli, and authentic minestrone with homemade bread. We offer dishes such as Veal Saltimbocca, Cioppino and Eggplant Parmigiana. The menu is also complimented with a Catch of the Day special and our Italian Dinner Party. Our homemade desserts of cannoli, tiramisu and biscotti are made fresh daily. The final authentic touch is our on-site herb and vegetable garden patio where one experiences the true fresh taste from farm to fork. It gives one the feel of a "meal with mama" on Sunday afternoon in Italy! Come and meet the owners Jim and Annette Murdaca personally, as Chef Pietro Murdaca continues the family tradition from the kitchen.

Pietro's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We were driving to the Bay area from Murphy's we were looking for a place to have dinner. Pietro's came up on my smart phone. It was busy, we did not have reservations so we sat at the bar to dine. Drew the Bartender was great! Food was great too. Dessert even better! Had the best Cannoli we ever had.
Definitely will return soon Weather we are at our home in Murphy's or Concord!
As usual, Pietro’s was as expected. We were celebrating and wanted the place where the food is delicious and the atmosphere appealing. We always find it at Pietro’s. Whether we sit in the garden or inside, we are met with the comforting surroundings of brisk and efficient cooks as they work and casual diners who, like us, have become accustomed to Pietro’s ambiance and tasty menu items. To have Annette and Jim there taking care of their big fan base is always a plus. We will be back many times.
On a date that started out with a delicious Italian margarita made by the best bartender Drew.
My date had not been to Pietro's before and he enjoyed everything offered at this restaurant.
Salad with dinner, chicken Parmesan and chicken piccata were our choices. So good, plenty of food leftovers went home. We were too full for dessert. Our waiter was great and service was good too. Had reservations only a 10 minute wait. We will be back.
This is not a hidden gem. It is a well known gem so reserve early. Most of the reviews we saw were very good and excellent and Pietro’s delivered. The place was very busy but the service was on top of it. Bruschetta appetizer was a great start; fresh tomatoes and basil on toasted Italian bread. My wife said the eggplant Parmesan was some of the best she has ever had and she generally orders it whenever it is on the menu. I had the cioppino; the base was delicious with lots of mussels, clams, shrimp and fish (no crab due to the season). The affogato (“vanilla bean gelato drown in espresso”) and the cherry sundae were an excellent finish to an excellent meal. Very reasonably priced which makes it a great value. The only downside was that the noise level in the main dining room was really loud. Very difficult to have a conversation during dinner. We will go back again when in Lodi.
We were very excited to visit Pietro's as this was our first opportunity to visit since the remodeling was completed. Despite arriving for our reservation 5 minutes early we waited 20 minutes for a table. After waiting 15 minutes we inquired about our table, the Hostess seemed confused about our presence. Once seated, we received water and menus. We declined cocktails, preferring choose a wine suited to the entrée (first mistake). We waited... finally the server returned to take our order. We foolishly requested a few moments to review the wine list (second mistake). The server never returned to take our wine order. We were able to hail a bus person to request bread. One might say "It was a busy evening." True that the tables around us were full. Many had completed their meals and were visiting over a bottle of wine. I noted that the server was very attentive to a table which was seated after us. They had water, bread, wine within a few minutes of being seated. The food was mediocre at best, my veal was barely warm. This is definitely not a place for a special event or business dealings. I found myself longing for the cramped, poorly lit, loud pre-remodel restaurant because the service was great and the food was fabulous. Perhaps the Chef is still acclimating to the new equipment.
Food was fresh. Service was absolutely awful. They couldn’t remember our order and kept coming back to the table with the wrong food. The same thing was happening to three tables next to us. Then the bill was completely wrong. Will not return for a date night.
We requested a special occasion and it was not honored. Service was not that great as salt and pepper was missing from the table. No ground pepper was offered for the salads. We asked to sit outside and were told it was not set up yet; however, 10 minutes later people were being seated outside. However, the food was awesome!
For the cost of our meal I would have expected a higher quality than what we received. I ordered the veal saltinbocca amd the veal was chewy. It came with green beans (warmed) and spaghetti with red sauce (which was not mentioned in the menu or by y waitress). Had to request another option as the sauce was just mediocre. I requested pasta with pesto, which was better than the original option but still not very good.
My husband had chicken parm and he thought it was just mediocre.
Overall it was over priced for mediocre.
For being limited with dinner options in Lodi it was just ok.
I've been to this restaurant several times and have never had a bad meal. For the second time, we sat outside in the patio area. The ambiance is great and it is quieter than inside. The only problem we encountered this time was extremely slow service. There were two outside waiters, but we sat there for at least 25 minutes and neither waiter came to take our order or drinks we had to ask the owner to intercede. The one female waiter finally checked on us, but was gone for long periods. This was obviously reflected in her tip. I found this unusual because we have always had great waiter service before.
General Manager from Oak Ridge Winery recommended your restaurant during a tasting! We immediately made an online reservation and were totally pleased with our dinner, service and ambiance. We live in Louisville, Kentucky and were passing through on our way to San Francisco. Excellent meal/experience.
